San Leandro Senior Community Center was a destination but didn't find them until after the covid…read morepandemic happened. it's nearby the S.L. hospital. the architecture threw me off. thought it was a car dealership. it wasn't until i saw the name on the building that it dawn on me. parking is by the side. there's a low cost lunch program seniors can subsribe for (has to be order days in advance). unknown if it's has the same programs Mastick in alameda has.. will find out someday.

I love this place because all the residents are such nice people, who always greet you with a smile, a wave, or even a hug. The environment is great! My grandma has made so many friends here. Another thing I love about this place is that they have a lot of parties for their residents; whether it be birthday parties, or just the residents getting together. They also have volunteer opportunities here for my grandma, where the residents take turns serving the other residents food, daily. The office personnel a are also super friendly and always acknowledge the needs and concerns of the residents. This facility is in the process of being remodeled, and it is coming along great. It's a great facility!

Whoever hired the people answering general calls are rude and a hassle. I got the names of two…read morepeople, kelly and marisella. They act like they don't want to be there or help anyone. I wanted to see if I can still get check at this location because I got a regular check up before. They responded, "so what do you want to do?" Like hello? Can I get a check up? Do I still qualify ? Constantly putting me on hold once I answer a question as if she went to discuss with her co workers what to do. She doesn't even say, let me put you on hold on moment, I need to ----. They just say hold on. I had to ask for her name at the end, feel like they don't give it to you at the start because they don't want to give you there name when you complain about them. I thought this community center is suppose to help people, the way they act, they are just doing it for the money with no passion or anything.

I feel like I'm part of their community too...I feel my family is welcome. My father loves to attend daily and doesn't want to miss it. He likes the food and the company and all of the attention that he receives.
