Don't tell him that you are still having issues with your vision because he will blame it on your age and make it sound like it's all in your head. When I became an "adult" and started my first full time job, a lot of things changed for me. Suddenly responsible for my own health insurance, I was dismayed at having to find a new eye doctor. Having had gone to the same doctor since 5th grade when squinting was no longer an option, I was sad and nervous about having to find someone new. Someone who knew nothing about me or my endeavors with eyesight. The Center for Sight was recommended to me by a co-worker. After putting it off for a while, I decided it was time for the world to come into focus and made an appointment. My old office was located in a small, quaint building. . . so when I pulled up to this oversized, renovated, historic mill in Fall River, I was intimated and lost. After finding the parking lot located in back of the mill and walking up one flight of stairs near an old smoke stack, I walked into a transformed floor of the mill and felt much more at ease. There are several MDs and ODs located in this office. I see Cristina M. Lopes, O.D. and recommend her with much enthusiasm. I have had two appointments with her over the past 2 years and am very satisfied with the care I received. She takes time to review your health and social history, your vision concerns and needs, and does a great job explaining everything throughout the whole examination. She's very sociable and puts you at ease. I'm usually concerned about overcorrection with my eyesight. . . I'm not a fan of feeling queasy while adjusting to a new prescription. I'm always provided with a sample script of my contacts to trial prior to ordering a year's supply online, which is something I was not provided with at my old place. This past visit, I decided to order a new pair of frames along with my new prescription. The staff on duty to help with this process are fantastic. Without the support of a friend or family member to help choose a new adornment for my face, they provided a much needed helping hand. They listened to what I was looking for, didn't get frustrated when I decided what I wanted was really not what I was originally looking for, and were as excited as I was when I finally found a pair I liked. They were well versed in explaining what my insurance would cover and were very flexible with downpayment options and pricing. And, whether they meant it or not, their praise over how good the glasses looked on when I received my final pair, gave me a huge boost of self esteem and the confidence to wear them more often than I do. Only 4 stars due to location and difficulty parking/finding the actual office. 5 stars for the staff and services they provide! read more

The doctors are good, knowledgeable and trustworthy. My issue here is the front desk/billing department. They don't know how to properly review benefits and charge you the appropriate amount. I had to go home print down my benefits page and show them how they were charging me incorrectly. They finally corrected it, but this hassle didn't just happen once. You'd figure after figuring it out that they would get it right for my kids, nope! It's sad, they have some good doctors there who I would like to continue seeing, but their back-office team is just awful. read more

I had a wonderful optometrist in Swansea but I needed to have my cataracts done and was sent here. And I will say they did a good job on the surgery. I had a follow up appointment on another date at 1 o'clock and I got to see the doctor at 3:30. They said they were running behind. My next appointment I made at 9am, figuring after the previous appointment they can't possibly be running two hours late if I'm one of the first appointments of the day. I was very wrong because I didn't see the doctor until noon. The worst part is when I finally saw the doctor, he rushed me through my appointment (maybe he wanted to go to lunch?). Not having learned my lesson the first two times and being a glutton for punishment apparently I went back a third time. This time I waited an hour and a half and finally asked the nurse how much longer. She told me she would check and returned fifteen minutes later and said it could be another hour or hour and a half. I ended up walking out. And can you believe they have the nerve to bill me?! Because their time is valuable! Apparently my time is worthless. If you want to wait all day and be treated like a farm animal, I can wholeheartedly recommend them. I have been going here for several years and have had cataract surgery as well as general eye care. The care is top notch and as a result I have referred several friends with complicated eye issues that have been resolved by the Dr's here when they couldn't by other offices. I suffer from white coat syndrome. I freak out over all things medical. It's genetic as my father was like this and my mother still is. I hadn't seen an eye doctor in years and was perfectly happy going along like that until my husband insisted it was time for me to have my eyes checked. I had visited this office years ago for an issue I was having with eye pain. The doctor I saw at the time has since left. Based on Ashley P.'s review I made an appointment with Dr. Cristina Lopes. She gave me a thorough, quick exam and recommended glasses, although she did say my prescription wouldn't be too strong and since I wasn't complaining, the choice was up to me. She did show what the difference would be with and without the corrective lenses and I opted for them. The women that I dealt with in the Optical shop were awesome. I had a very hard time making a decision and they didn't make me feel rushed in the least. When I had narrowed it down to two frames they offered to get them in other colors for me to see if that would help me make a decision. The other frames came in within a week and it was an easy decision after that. My glasses were ready in less than a week. During the exam, Dr. Lopes did have a concern with the measurement of one of my nerves and ordered another test and referred me to Dr. Keegan Johnson, also at this office. She did tell me not to worry, that everything was probably fine, but she thought it best to investigate a bit further. I had the test and saw Dr. Johnson. She was also very thorough, quick and professional. While she also reassured me that everything was most likely fine, she did order an additional test. That test also came back normal, and now they will just monitor the situation to make sure there are no changes. Everyone I have dealt with at the Center for Sight has been professional and reassuring. I would recommend them for your eye care needs. read more

I have been going to this place for a long time but it's sad to say I must change the place I go to. Unfortunately they changed doctors and gave me the rudest one I've ever had. Dr. Smith. He is condescending, rude and doesn't take care of issues in an efficient way. I came to see why my eye was bothering and he did not address my issue. Instead, he told me that he would order new lenses and I should go back. They said they would call me which they did about a week later. I went back and spent two hours there to learn that there had been a mistake and they did not have the contact lenses. So I wasted my time. Two weeks later the lenses arrived and I had to wait an hour for the same rude doctor to tell me how ugly and red my eyes look and how "beautiful and white" his look. So unnecessary and narcissistic. It's sad to say that I will not be coming back to this place. I miss Dr. Covello and hope I can find somebody like him or somebody that treats their patients like a person that deserves respect and sympathy. Their staff is lovely and friendly but I just can't deal with this doctor and have to find somebody that solves my issue without judgement. read more

I had been a couple of times in the past and really didn't have too long a wait. The last time I had a 10:00 appointment and at noon I was still sitting there. After talking to the people still in the room with me I realized that there was another 4 people ahead of me. At that point I had had enough. I had to be home for a disabled child and told them I was leaving. Years ago I had Dr. O'Brien for my son and I never, ever had this issue before. I felt like I was being herded like cattle. I had paid my co-pay on the way in and a few days later I received my check back in the mail. No apology, nothing whatsoever. Just a check in an envelope. I realize that things can happen to set the doctor behind schedule. But I also figured out that they schedule someone every 10 minutes. People have questions and once one patient puts the doctor behind everyone from that point on suffers. I would like to believe that my time is also worth something and it was asking too much of patients to be 3 hours behind. read more

Absolutely terrible. Waited almost 2 hours for the doctor to still be taking patients in front of me because I was eight minutes late. Obviously they were running behind and the staff was lying to me that it was my fault. I had been to this office five years ago and had an ocular cardiac reflex to dilation drops that wasn't even in my chart. If I hadn't spoke up and said I didn't want them I would've been passed out on the floor again because the tech was all set to do it. I went to Center for Sight for my annual exam and Dr.Covello did my examination and was very thorough checking me for Glaucoma and he even measured the thickness of my corneas which I have never had done before. When he was done he told me that my eyes have changed a bit, but nothing to worry about. So upon leaving I went to pick out new frames and get my new glasses. I was called by Sue Doyle who helped me in picking out my new frames for my glasses and also my sunglasses and she was so helpful and knowledgeable about the product that she sells. My wife usually comes with me but she was in a Rehab facility so she couldn't come this time. I went to pick up my glasses yesterday and she adjusted them perfectly and when I got back to the rehab and saw my wife she absolutely loved both pairs and said "whoever helped you picked these out did an outstanding job, I couldn't have done any better". I will never go back again. WHY....well when you get there on time you wait 30-60 minutes. Today I left work early from Mansfield, MA for my eye exam. Because of heavy rains during my travel, the traffic was very slow, and I was a bit nervous going over 45. I called and said due to this weather and traffic I will be 10-15 minutes late. The clerk said I would have to reschedule. I had already left work and had been on the road over 30 minutes. I repeated that I would only be 10-15 minutes late. She said again I could only reschedule or cancel. "What do you want to do??"....If I didn't call and showed up late, they probably would have taken me. Instead I placed a courtesy call to say I'd be late. I had no choice but to take an appointment for two weeks later, and now take more time out of work. Tomorrow I will call, cancel, and tell them I will never return. I don't think I was asking a lot to be 10-15 late due to mother nature. I gave myself ample time to get there. Is that good business? I bet they were behind and cancelling me got them out of work on time instead of staying late.....but this week I will be staying late at my job to make up for the time I lost today. I have never experienced such rude employees AND doctors and horrible service to customers. every doctor i've ever seen there has belittled me and ignored any concerns I've had about my contacts and glasses. the glasses they gave me are the wrong prescription (i literally have to squint while i wear them) and they have refused to replace them. they have mixed up my contact prescription more than once so I had to return multiple times for the correct ones. (they have a horrible selection of glasses anyways) the biggest problem is the rude, uninterested and sarcastic employees who act like the patients are interrupting whenever they walk in. they very clearly all hate their jobs. I will never go back here after wasting so much time and money and I still can't see!!!! read more

I like the doctor we see there, but the office staff and the optical shop are awful. The office staff members are rude and impatient. The optical shop is just poorly managed. Every time if go in there I have to wait at least an hour. Even just to pick up an order. It is difficult to get in there during the week due to my work schedule, so I went in on a Saturday morning to pick up my daughter's contact lenses. After a half hour the staff had only helped one additional customer, so I had to leave. There was a huge line and there was no way we would be seen anytime soon. This is not an isolated incident, they are ALWAYS like that. They have 2 women working, who seem to have no sense of urgency about the huge line they have. They need to either hire more staff, or at least have some common sense. Someone could be there to deal with pickups only, and also, if customers are looking at different frames, the staff can be helping someone else. It is ridiculous. I had to leave without the contacts, and I am going to have to take time from work to go pick them up. I probably should have just paid to have them shipped to me, but why should I have to pay because their service is so awful? We were also going to order new glasses, but I can't waste an entire day there, so I think we'll go somewhere else. read more

Fantastic! I especially love the girls that work at the frame section. They are fantastic! For years I've purchased my frames from them and have never had a single issue.
