I was referred to Center for Sight by my primary physician. I had gone to 2 appointments at their Tracy location with no problem. I have had a total of 5 or 6 appointments scheduled at their Manteca facility, but have only been to 1 appointment. Why? Because all other appointments had been cancelled because they hadn't received the authorization paperwork from my primary physician OR the paperwork wasn't properly filled out. However, did they contact me to cancel the appointments? NO! Either I would show up and find be informed my appointment had been cancelled when I would check in OR I'd call them to make certain they had received authorization and was told no and appointment had been cancelled. They also never contacted my physicians office to notify that they were still in need of authorization. Had I not called the times I did, I wouldn't have known about the cancellation until I showed up and each time, I also contacted my primary drs office and they were ALSO unaware of there being a cancellation or any problem with paperwork. Recently, I had been scheduled for 2 separate appointments for August. These appointments were scheduled back in I believe April or May. So prior to the first of the 2 appointments, since I'd already had problems 2 times prior to my first appointment, I called the day before I was scheduled to come in and found out it was cancelled for no authorization. I contacted my primary providers office and let them know authorization hadn't been received and I also spoke to my physician a few days later while I was at their office and told him this was a recurring problem. I was then told by my physicians office that everything was taken care of and to KEEP my upcoming appointment. Well my upcoming appt was on 8/22, I arrived, waited for the office staff to come back from lunch, and when I went to check in, I'm told the appointment was cancelled when the last one was cancelled. I asked why? I was told because the first one was for the initial testing and this one was for results. I said they can't do the testing today ( this is for Glaucoma) and then set up a secondary appt. for the results? I was told no. So I asked what do we need to do then ? I was told that my physicians office now needed to send a NEW authorization and then an appointment could be set up. The staff is nice, really liked the doctor I saw at the one appointment I was able to go to at the Manteca facility, but their policies and lack of communication are BEYOND! Why, if an authorization HAS been received, can't you honor the appointment that was already scheduled OR AT THE LEAST, contact the patient once authorization has been received, and RESCHEDULE both appointments so that the patient doesn't waste time coming to an appointment that's been cancelled w/o notification and can get a new appointment time on their calendar? It's just SO UNPROFESSIONAL and such a waste of time for the client/patient. I've contacted my primary care provider and asked them to get authorization with another company. My primary doctors office was extremely apologetic and told me they would be working on a new appointment and authorization elsewhere. My advice to anyone in the Manteca area who's seeking to obtain an appointment and their physicians office mentions Center for Sight, get an appointment at their Tracy facility! Yes, it's a bit of a drive but well worth not dealing with the hassle I've endured. read more

Don't bring your child here. It was my 5 year olds first time and he was nervous and he is neurodivergent. Dr.Roubach told my son to look a certain way and my son didnt do it long enough. I stood up to have my son look at me in the same direction he needed him to look to try to help. But instead he yelled at my child and then rudely got up and said FORGOT IT. He rushed the rest of the appointment and left. My child was left ashamed and terrified that the doctor was mean. Don't take children as patients if you don't have the slightest bit of patience. I took time off from work and drove an hour to the Center of Sight in Manteca, hoping to pick up the long-waited prescription glasses. To my dismay, the clinic was closed (on Friday), even though the sign at the entrance clearly stated their hours as 8am-5pm. I called the office number and after a wait of over half an hour I was finally able to talk to a real person. When I asked why they were closed at 10am on a Friday, the lady on the phone told me that they sometimes close randomly when the doctor is unavailable. It was an inconvenience for me, and I suggested that it would be courteous if they could somehow notify the patients of their practice of randomly closing the office on a weekday. Instead of being empathetic and trying to listen to what I had to say, the lady would keep repeating the phrase "we are closed today." She was extremely rude and hung up on me. Very dissatisfied with the misinformation on the opening hours of the clinic and the customer service lady for her lack of ethics and professionalism. read more

This place needs better management and customer service. You have to wait for more than 30 minutes to get someone answered the phone and the soonest available it will be in 4 months. The day of the appointment you will wait for an hour and your eye exam will be done by a medical assistant and the doctor only will see you at the end. read more

The clinic is nice with good ambiance. The optician/optometrist is really nice and courteous. Even the The only thing that made it 4 is the restroom. It is frequently used and somebody should check on it regularly coz I used it and it stinks with no more toilet paper. Probably a spray freshener would be helpful. read more

Dr. Daniel Wee and Dr. Charles Kim are amazing! They are kind, compassionate, explain thoroughly. Office staff is friendly and punctual. The care does not seem rushed, which is nice. The care is exceptional! Would recommend this facility to anyone who needs ophthalmologist. read more

I have a very good doctor, Dr Wee. My problem is when you call the clinic you have to wait 15- 30 minutes. At first call I waited 15 minutes and I was caller number 8. When it was my turn the staff says "one moment" and the line was cut off. So I redialed and I was caller number 5 and it was my turn it was answering machine and said to leave my number and they will call me back. They have not returned the call .. read more

Having Medicare for a few years now, I've come to understand that things don't move very fast. I'm usually very appreciative of doctors who take my insurance.... not this place. I ordered my glasses in January, it is now the middle of April and there is still no time table for my glasses. Start with the reception. The girl who checks you in is a miserable person. She either absolutely hates her job or is just generally a nasty person. Every interaction I've had with her has been filled with attitude, shortness and hostility. My time with the actual doctor listed maybe 15 seconds. The assistant who admitted he gets asked regularly "shouldn't the doctor be doing this" was actually the best part of my experience. He was a cool guy and seemed to know what he was doing. It would have been nice for an actual doctor to perform my exam, but I got lucky the assistant seemed knowledgeable. The girl who helps you pick out your glasses was friendly, but then again I am now in the third month waiting for my glasses so her charm has definitely worn away. Don't bother calling in and asking for an update on your glasses. That same girl who works reception will answer and yell at you for following up on your glasses. Medicare should investigate this location. A lot of what they do just feels wrong. read more

had cataract surgery and it went wrong the following day I went back for the check up and I couldn't see, Dr said the lens moved and he had to redo it. Went back the following week for surgery and had it redone but he added a stitch inside my eye.. Three weeks later and my eye is bad.. It gets so red, watery and it closes. I need readily glasses but it hurts my eye when I put them on but I'm totally blind without my reading glasses and I wasn't like that before surgery. read more

My mother is a patient here, her Doctor Kim is a younger man who always explains things clearly and is very nice, but my complaint is more directed at the staff. They are always short and rude, my mom is completely blind and elderly and instead of being conscientious of that they act completely oblivious. They start patients off in one room where the worker ( nurse assistant, tech ? ) robotically tells my mom what to do while I'm trying to help her sit and have to ask the girl to please raise the foot rest on the treatment chair since my mom is completely blind and will run right into it and wouldn't see that she needs to step into it, also I asked if next time they can take her directly to the treatment room because it's really hard for her to go through the same process twice, and of course, she said no. I just feel like the staff is really not compassionate for dealing with severely affected patients. We will not be visiting this office again. read more

They are soo clueless and does not own any of their actions! Over promise and under deliver! If it was not A ER Referral, I would of seek another Specialist/facility. Arrived 30 mins before my appointment thinking ill have to fill out paperwork. I signed in the girl at front desk didn't even acknowledge me. I waited 40 mins then they had me fill out the paper work. I waited over an hour and half after my appointment time to be called back to a dr that didn't even greet me, or say who he was. I took my two son's here about a month ago for their annual eye exam, that part went ok. We were on time but still had to wait an hour for our appointment. They both need glasses,but we we're informed that optometric was closed. The gal at the front told us to call Thursday in the Modesto office. I called that Thursday just to be told no she called off all week ; fast forward 3 weeks later, I'm still calling to get their eye glasses picked out. I finally asked her is the gal calling off work for three weeks because she is COVID positive; to my dismay she said we can't give that information. I get that you can not tell me specifics of her because of HIPAA, but don't you think it's important to tell your patients that they could have been exposed at this facility. On top of that it's a month later and my son's still have not got their glasses even picked out! I asked the lady what are my son's supposed to do? She replied Costco & Walmart sale glasses cheap go there! Like really so are you scamming insurance saying you have rendered these medical services, but in reality you have not! This is the third time being her with terrible lack of communication. First time I waited nearly two hours. Second time I showed up and they said they rescheduled me (without calling me) and I also come from out of town. Third time I did the test and they said wait to see the doctor, for thirty minutes finally asked if the doctor was behind and they said oh no you're done you need to come back tomorrow morning. In the meantime another person was waiting to get his results and pay and they never told him he had to walk through another door. Then another person walks in with a young child far out of town and they told her they tried calling her 20 minutes before to reschedule because the doctor there doesn't take young children which she was already driving by that time. At this point i am so over this place. I've been waiting one month and three weeks (& counting) for my glasses that i ordered. When i call the office they are rude and tell me that THEY will call ME when my glasses are ready. If they know I've been waiting so long, you'd think they'd give a courtesy call informing me that they are very behind schedule. In the mean time, i can't see, my vision is terrible and i NEED my glasses. Super annoyed with this place and after or should i say IF i receive my glasses, I'll never go back. This is about the Manteca Office. This is my second review. In my last review i commented on the optical dept. how they are never there. I ordered two pair of glasses regular and sunglasses. The regular glasses were fine just needed to be adjusted as they fell off my face, well optical isn't here call tomorrow and see if she is here. 4 days later she's there. I told her I couldn't see out of my sunglasses, she said well that's because they are single vision. I said why would you order single vision when you knew I needed bifocal progresssives? She said I'll send them back but its going to cost more! What can I do but pay it I've already paid for them. While I was there I said you aren't here very much are you? she said I'm here everyday. I said no your aren't you weren't here last week or Monday Tuesday this week. She said she was on vacation then just came back today (Wednesday) I said that's not true because I was told you were pulled to the Stockton Office. Anyway I called the Manteca office it went to automated I was caller number 4 finally got to caller number 2 after a 15 minute hold, finally got to number 1 and got the Leave your name and number and someone well return your call. I did but then I called the Manteca office right back asked for optical they transferred me, guess what it was the Stockton office, so the optical girl once again was not in the Manteca Office, she told me to call her tomorrow at the Mantcea office. I will never do business with the office or company again Once I get my glasses I will never step foot in that office again. Oh yeah I never did get my call returned after leaving my message. Unfortunately, it's the secretaries that have made EVERY phone call and billing conversation difficult. I feel bad for the Optometrists and assistants that ARE doing a great job because the face of their business is NOT! The secretaries at the front desk are rude every time I have to talk to them! You can't even chalk it up to them having a bad day because that excuse doesn't work anymore. They are condescending, the least accommodating, and act like dealing with people is a burden! My doctor made an appointment for this location at 8am the day before. I drive from Turlock to Manteca, through the morning traffic. After reading the bad reviews I already knew something was going to happen. I get there and they tell me I don't have an appointment. I call my doctor and have them call. They need people who are customer service oriented. But here in Manteca it was great all the ladies were super nice and I got in and out super fast. I had the WORST experience here... I was referred to this place (center for sight in Manteca) by my son's primary Dr. Made my appointment at 3pm ( my son gets out of school at 2:50pm) bc it takes one hour to fully dilate his eyes. Okay that was fine. Front end ppl where no help at all with sign-in, mind you my first time there. Sat down after signing in. They took us in the back room to to the dilation on my son's eyes. Waited for what seemed like forever (and hour in a half hour) it seemed like we where forgotten about. Did finally get called in the back. Lady doing this eye test was nice but losing patience with my son (he's 9 yrs old). We where took to another room waited another 20 mins or so waiting for the Dr to come in. (He didn't want to answer ANY of my questions and he rushed me out). We then ordered his glasses before we even left th office... Oct 22 we order the glasses... Was told I'd have his glass 4-6 weeks..... It's the beginning of JANUARY and we still have NO GLASSES. Due to them only sending out his prescription but no frames. I called every week starting at the 4 week mark til about a week ago. My ONLY explanation was " we are still waiting on his frames" come to find out a friend of mine was there the SAME DAY she got her daughter's glasses the day before Thanksgiving! I had to call supervisor Sue in order to find out what was going on with his glasses...... Everyone I talked to for over TWO MONTHS couldn't dig deeper and find out my son's frames where NEVER sent off! I'm currently STILL WAITING for his glasses!!!!!!! read more
