This year we have been asked to move to the foyer or to whatever room may be available as they rely on rentals for these rooms. We agreed and we have been playing where they tell us to go. We pay $2.00 and now are asked to sign in and pay the fee. Additionally, we always were given water and coffee, and are now told that would no longer receive free water or coffee. When several of our members complained about this, a call was made to one of our members that we were rude to their staff, and they are not going to put up with this. I believe The Community House is ignoring the elderly in their community and are actually forcing us out of this venue in favor of younger members. Why else deprive us of free water.

They have a wide range of classes and activities here, which is nice. My major issue is with the…read morecleanliness and staff. Cleanliness: there are no locker rooms for the gymnasium. You're expected to wait with your little one out in the hall connected to the older part of the building. Of course, the rules are no shoes in the gym so parents are prepping kids in this hall nonstop between classes. However, for over a month, there has been a giant ant infestation. So kids are getting tons of ants all over themselves and their clothes. Staff: I've mentioned it several times and the first few were met with concern "we are working on it" and now it's "oh, yea. Ok". Actually, it's not ok. It's disgusting. And it's not fantastic to have a bunch of preschoolers with ants all over them. I've had a nice front desk employee or two, but for the most part, they aren't exactly brimming with happiness. Again, the amount of classes offered here is nice. But the facility is obviously old and I worry about overall sanitation.

The building is always clean and the kids like the food and activities that are planned outside of normal school hours. Tons of walking paths and trails and such a wonderful and expansive children's garden with water play, opportunities to explore nature and get hands on plus a fun hedge maze! This place is anything but cranky old men complaining about the war. My first experience here was completely surprising. I came for the Friday fish fry with my father and the nugget, who was a baby at the time. During Lent, this place is PACKED with people on Friday nights. I could not believe it. While waiting for my fish to arrive, I got a glass of wine at the bar. I thought I misheard the price...nope I didn't...it was soooo cheap compared to a bar or restaurant. After I bit into a nice meaty piece of fried fish, I was hooked (buh duh cha). The fish fry continues all year long...not just during Lent. Don't like fish, no problem. They have Italian Beef sandwiches, hot dogs, and fried shrimp. The price of your meal also includes coffee, and cake for dessert. You can't go wrong. Don't forget to bring some cash for the raffles. They usually do a 50/50 raffle, and some other thing. For Valentine's Day there was a delicious pork dinner and a band. For St. Paddy's they do a corned beef dinner. High suggested! Tuesday is Bingo and Thursday is wing night. There is almost always something going on here. Check it out!

Volunteered here today through my school. We were supposed to help clean up the river, but due to…read morethe flooding, we actually packed boxes of shoes to send to those who can use them. We packed about 1700 pairs of shoes from 10-1! it was great! the two guys that were in chare (Thadeus and Richard) were just awesome, they were friendly, funny and they really love what they do. 3T mentors kids with sports, different kinds of activities like ukelele lessons and gardening classes. They also host clinics and tournaments, this is a great program and they love volunteers! I can't wait to come back and volunteer and get involved! thanks for a great day guys!

Being part of such a great team doing what I love and being able to see that they are making a difference in urban youth truly was amazing. I loved every minute here and learned a lot of Photoshop tricks, thank you Jordan. This internship allowed me to utilize my love for drawing and create part of a mural which was an amazing experience. By the way this was my first actual painting...it was a challenge but it was so much fun being able to try something new. The host was great with our son, the place was clean and organized, and it was a huge hit. The simplicity for decorating with just a banner and table clothes we brought was perfect and it was very convenient to have the rolling container to wheel all the presents out to the car. Would recommend!
