The Center needs to fix their UC Health integration and reminder messages. The text reminders are from Harmony Surgery Center and don't include any details except the date- no address, no time, no special instructions reminders. This needs to be fixed. Clearly the nurses are well prepared with a story about how this miscommunication rarely happens (strange they are so prepared for something that rarely happens). For example, they quickly pointed out that I read the original message on May 1st at 3:02PM. Incredible they had that detail handy as though they know how to find that info instantly- but rarely need it. I did open the message that day, but I didn't actually read it because I foolishly expected the Center to send a timely reminder of the appointment and custom instructions for procedure prep. Note, I did follow the manufacturer's instructions on the prescription rather than the off-label Center instructions buried in the UC Health messages. They do tell you all this when you first book the appointment, but do not ever contact you again- even on the day of the appointment- just a cryptic text from UC Health Surgery Center starting 3-days before the appointment. Note the Center off-label prep instructions start 7-days prior to the appointment. Most concerning, the nurses seem stressed as though they are more concerned with keeping the production line moving than patient care. Well, I left the discussion feeling stressed too. Dr. Cronk's team spent a solid two and a half weeks messing up getting me the new med. I spent that entire time getting sicker and sicker, and facing apathy, confusion, incompetence, and even a bald-faced lie. The two people that are the problem are Titus C. (I think he's the head nurse), and Heidi, the chief medical assistant. They both consistently tell me to call people that know nothing about my case and can't help, and Heidi couldn't figure out how to fax the prescription over to Walgreen's for 2 full days, and lied about calling Walgreen's to figure it out (the pharmacist at Walgreen's had no memory or record of a phone call). Once I finally got that med, I developed anti-bodies, rendering it ineffective. I'm now working with a whole new doctor at this office (Dr. Kershner), but unfortunately Titus and Heidi are on her team too. It's now 7/31/26, and I've been trying to get started on a new med since 7/6. It's still endless confusion and incompetence from these same two people, and I'm getting genuinely worried about becoming hospitalized. I realize this might all make me sound entitled and unreasonable, but I've been breaking my back this entire time playing phone-tag, and sometimes driving around town on wild goose chases, all while getting sicker and sicker. I've had concerns about Rachel not taking some of my symptoms seriously, but at my last appointment, she agreed that we should schedule an endoscopy since I have acid reflux and her remedies hadn't worked- just a drug that another of my doctors was concerned about. She also slipped in that it might not be a bad idea to get another colonoscopy. This is when I learned that the one I'd had just 3 years ago had more issues than I'd known about (and I've now reviewed that experience, as well). She told me that she had requested a report for a biopsy that had shown up on the report they'd received from my previous procedure. My version of the report had never shown a biopsy that I remembered, and I'd remember that. She never heard back from the previous doctor's office. I told her of my bad experience there and my concerns with it, and she thought it might be good to do another. Eventually, I agreed. I had to think about it, because, you might know, it's not an easy prep. The colonoscopy and endoscopy, which we did at Boulder Community Hospital last week rather than their clinic because I'm a hard stick (hard to find veins for IVs), went off without a hitch. Dr. Susnow visited me before and after the procedure, gave me pictures and other post-procedure information, and the follow-up was sooner than expected. A human called me with results and at least a partial explanation. I can't get back in to see him for another month, which I'd scheduled months ago, but at least I have results and know what questions I need to ask. I'm sure he will have answers so we know what to do in the future. I agree with some other reviews that the scheduling can be wonky. Their AI is pretty worthless, but at least you can get to a human, unlike some other outfits I've tried to deal with lately. And most of the humans are good, especially those who schedule the hospital procedures. Rachel needs both more training and more curiosity about what patients experience in order to try and help. She needs to show more knowledge and care overall, and to listen. Her solutions are quite limited. Some PAs are better than others. The best are those who have curiosity and know that every patient is different. One size doesn't fit all. The best have bigger toolboxes and know when to refer to a doctor rather than dismiss the patient when they've reached the limits of their knowledge. Hence, the four stars instead of five.

When they woke me up there were no reassuring words of comfort, I was just told to sit tight. I was so confused and had no idea where I was, I just felt a lot of pain as they continued the procedure. When I woke up, I was no longer receiving oxygen through the nasal cannula which is highly concerning. It was the most horrifying and painful experiences I have ever had and I will definitely not be going back.
