Originally we had thought we would probably eventually move to the Villages in Florida but she also looked at Bailey's Glen in Cornelius as well as Trilogy in Denver. We put our Condo on the Market in February and things started out fine but then we went under Covid Lockdown and that put a halt to all home sales unless the home was currently unoccupied. We moved in the Phase 1 of moving out from under Lockdown and while there were limitations, Realtors were able to start showing again. Got one low ball offer immediately which we ignored but a week later, we got a serious offer which we negotiated to a fair price close to the original asking price. With contract in hand, last Saturday we went over and toured 4 different models that Susan liked. Christi was a fantastic agent for Shea Homes. Narrowed it down to two homes and Susan chose the Independence Model and we signed a contract on it. Tentatively closing is set for next month and we are looking forward to it. Susan is looking forward to it and has gone over several times measuring and planning. Last Friday her Son and Daughter-in-Law went over and got a chance to at least see the pool and tennis court plus some of the Club House. Thumbs up to all. We were a little worried buying pretty early in the development, but there has never been much of a slow down in home building and our section of the community has filled right up. Sure the amenities are a bit behind the initial plan, but they continue moving forward as more homeowners move in. Love the location being close to the airport (and airplane noise has never been an issue), close to Belmont for groceries and everything else, easy access to 85 and 485, easy commute Uptown, quiet community, but still easy to get to everywhere we like to go in Charlotte. i used to work in Huntersville and my commute was easy taking 485 up to 77, now i work in Belmont and it's now like a 5-minute drive. If you like having to worry about taking care of your own yard, then i do not recommend living in Napa. For me, living in Napa and having the lawn care included in our HOA is ideal. Other pluses: -Small but functional fitness center with free weights. -Sweet slide at the pool. -Easy trip down Wilkinson to/from Uptown. Less destructive issues included slanty ceilings, squeaky stairs and various electrical quirks. Not to mention that, standing in the apartment, five stories above Davidson, it's possible to hear a conversation, word-for-word, going on in the streets. The apartment managers are all housed at the sister property, Alpha Mill, and Fat City can sometimes be forgotten.

They were charging less than some of the condos for rent in the area. I didn't get to move there because they were completely full, but I got put on the waitlist so they can let me know when something becomes available. The floors lack what seems to be proper insulation and are topped with laminate which is notorious for amplifying noise. Fortunately, I live on the top floor of my building so I don't experience it like my downstairs neighbor does. I have a small cat that occasionally runs around chasing toys and my neighbor described the sound to be like 3+ people running above them. I have done the due diligence to purchase a wool runner in hopes that it helps pad the noise in the hall, but at the end of the day, it's a building problem. Unfortunately, this has caused them to knock on my door expressing that I have been loud since they moved in. I can't imagine what living here would be like if your upstairs neighbor has guests over, have a family with kids, or have dogs.

I called and complained about it and Sandy, the longtime complex manager, denied there was a roach problem at all. They also have a policy about visitor parking that is unheard of anywhere else. If you live here anyone who visits you has to pay .50 cents an hour to park or be towed. They are literally charging people to visit you. The towing company they use is an hour away and the fee to get your car is $260.00 The on site manager, Sandy Soryz, will tell you she has nothing to do with it BUT the towing company is hired by the complex. It's a flat out lie she has nothing to do with it. She will give a sob story that she feels bad meanwhile you have to get a ride an hour away and part with $260.00 of your money. NEVER live here or visit anyone living there! The cockroaches are so bad you can literally sit and watch them multiply! I almost forgot while in your apartment you can listen to the gunshots outside. The place is not safe. Summerlin Apartments responded, to one of my reviews, on another site, saying they wanted an email to work on the issue. It's a flat out lie! The day before they posted that I emailed the manager, Sandy, directly. it's been over two weeks and I still have no response. They post this to all their negative reviews about wanting an email to work the issue. They have no interest in fixing anything or working any issue. I made a Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint about the place. It was sent to Sandy Soryz, the longtime complex manager, and she did not respond to the BBB either. This place thinks they are above all rules. Look at the many many reviews about how bad this place is. I wonder how many of their negative reviews they delete like one of mine. I wrote a similar review on apartments.com and it disappeared. GONE! If you look there they have six posted reviews posting an overall 3.8 rating. If you do the math those six reviews total a 1.6 overall rating. This complex is deceitful, sneaky and downright dishonest. It's scary that this place has access and capability to ruin your credit if they choose to. I've seen several reviews of them doing this. Just this week they threatened a family with small children to evict them for not paying their rent. When the tenant notified them they paid and it was their clerical error. Zero apology! They threatened them with a 10 day eviction. They were about to be put out on the street homeless with small children. Renters beware run from this place!
