So I really hate to even do this but I have been waiting since early January for a crown that I have already paid for and it is now mid April with no change and zero assistance from anyone at the front desk/office. While waiting for the crown to be delivered the pain has been increasing yet whenever I call and the times I have physically gone inside to ask about an ETA for the crown I paid for the only response I ever get is "we get shipments everyday we'll call you to set an appointment". Every single time I call. I mention how long it's been, I mention I've called before, I mention the pain - I get the same response or I'm put on hold for 10-15 minutes awaiting an answer that is "the doctor will call you". No one calls. Three months of this and my recent call went exactly the same as the others - the woman who answers the phone says "oh really" when I told her how long it's been and that now there is redness and the pain is becoming more frequent......I am told to wait. I was initially led to believe the crown would be completed "within two weeks," making this three-month delay especially concerning. In the meantime, I have a visible gap in my smile, persistent redness in the gums, and increasing pain when inhaling or eating hot foods. I'm unable to properly brush that area, leading to plaque buildup on surrounding teeth, and I can only chew on a small portion of my mouth because even small bits of food are beginning to cause discomfort. read more

It has now been four months and I am still waiting for a crown that fell off. During my initial consultation, the dentist hit a nerve while probing, which caused significant pain and made me physically jump. Instead of acknowledging the discomfort, I was reprimanded for reacting. During a routine cavity filling, my lip was cut with the drill and bled for nearly an hour. Additionally, appointments were consistently booked weeks out, making follow-up care difficult. To make matters worse, the office submitted incorrect X-rays to my insurance company, resulting in a denied claim. I later learned that the issue was simply an improper X-ray submission procedure, which delayed treatment unnecessarily. The front desk staff were also consistently unkind and dismissive. Overall, this experience was frustrating from start to finish. I hope the office improves its clinical care, administrative processes, and patient communication so others do not have a similar experience. read more

I do not recommend Central Coast Dental Care (CCDC). The other reviews touch on a lot of the issues I encountered. This is going to be long, but I will start from the beginning. My husband and I recently moved to the area and needed to get established with new health care providers, including a dentist. CCDC had a fresh website, many dentists available and looked like they would have a wide range of availability for our schedules. We each scheduled an appt for November. I received a reminder call one hour before my appointment. I showed up 20 minutes early, the door was unlocked but there were not a person in sight. I could hear laughing in the hallway but no one came up to the front to talk to me. Another gentleman showed up and we both waited until 15 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start before someone came up to the front desk (my husband had a similar situation when he came in a few days earlier). My husbands first appointment was quick. That's because unlike a normal dentist, they schedule your "first visit" in two separate visits. You see they receive more money from the insurance by separating out your xray visit and your cleaning visit. They then can charge you more for multiple "treatments" like fluoride and preventative treatments that your insurance does not cover, but they do not tell you they are doing until you discover it on your bill later. His appointment ended up being two separate visits and additional charges - I am pretty sure this is fraud as they are knowingly deceiving both the patient and the insurance company with this tactic. I called and told them that I didn't have the time for two separate appointments (who does?) and requested that they get it all done in one appt. They had several snarky remarks about this when I had my appointment. Now onto my appointment: The office is gorgeous. Brand new, fresh and full of color. It is obviously very new which is probably why they are absolute bloodhounds trying to get money at every opportunity. Two weeks prior to my appointment, I had emailed them a complete set of records for the past ten years. I painstakingly made sure to have all of my records and xrays available because I have complex dental needs. I went over this when scheduling and was promised that the dentist would look over my records before I got there. When I asked about it during and after the appointment, they told me they did not even have access to the email address that they gave me to send the records too. They couldn't figure out how to get into their email account. WOW! The dentist, Dr. Patricia Arciniega and front desk receptionist doesn't wear a mask (there is a mask mandate in Monterey county). The hygienist wore a mask and was nice and thorough. Dr Arciniega was friendly and she mentioned multiple times that my teeth were great and then two seconds later that I needed to have work done. Then said that they were great. It was a very odd exchange. Then the receptionist comes in and takes me into a business office and hands me an estimate. It was the most disgusting money grab that I have ever witnessed. According to the dentist who just told me my teeth were in great condition (but I need to floss more). Three teeth need "onlays". Not fillings; onlays. Which is not covered by insurance and 4x as expensive as a filling. I have consulted with two other dentists since then. One said in his 20+yr career, he has only done one onlay, the other has never done an onlay as it is "an unnecessary treatment and only used when the person is medically fragile". Both dentists felt that based on the xrays, none of this work is needed at this time. They said they would "watch these" but would not recommend filling or doing onlays on them now. In order to get copies of the full xrays that were performed there, I had to call three different times requesting them. Each time they promised to email them. On the third call, I asked her to please place me on hold and send them while I was holding. Finally I received them (as these are the films that the other two dentists reviewed). I thought I was done with the office until I went to check the insurance bill. Turns out there were multiple charges on my husband and my bills that were not approved by the insurance (this was an annual cleaning exam - normally covered at 100%). These charges are now "patient responsibility". It's been six weeks since our appointments and neither one of us was aware of charges, we have not received any calls, emails or letters to tell us what our charges are. All items are billing under "Harleen Kaur" but she is out on maternity leave. If you read other reviews, you will see that they talk about their patients being "family" and they want to give them 5 star service. You should notice that they only respond to the negative reviews and they do not follow-up with those reviews. This shows that they do not truly care about their patients experience or consider them "family". read more

I recently had a bunch of dental work done, (again, ugh), that started with a root canal referral to an office in Monterey, and back to Central Coast for a crown. And, a tooth with a cracked silver filling needing to be fixed. So, I committed to it all. Dental health is very important. They have a new dentist, forgive me, I don't remember her name, but she is fantastic. She made sure I felt no pain and did a great job on my crown. Dr. Kaur completely ruined my bite by putting in crowns that didn't fit well. She then blamed me and said my teeth shifted, which is impossible because my retainers from before the crowns still fit. Dr. Kaur then had the audacity to offer to redo 1 crown for free and charge for the second one when she caused these issues. When I called back and told her I'd be leaving a 1 star yelp review she changed her tune and said she would do both for free. However, this isn't the first time she would have to redo crowns for me, she redid one that she messed up previously (for free) and then that tooth got an infection under it and I had to pay her husband Dr. Singh to do a root canal on it. I have spent thousands of dollars with this dentist to leave completely unhappy and with a bite that is so messed up that my straight teeth need Invisalign on them AGAIN. My family also saw these dentists and have had to leave as well for similar issues. BEWARE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I cannot recommend this practice. I was told by Dr. Kaur that she could spare me a root canal by placing a 3d printed cap over my tooth. She drilled away half of my tooth with the tooth pulp exposed and then put this 3d printed cap over it. Every single time I barely bite down, I have pain. She told me to wait a month and then another month. I went in twice already to have it looked it and she just gaslights by saying "it looks perfect". Yea it looks good but it is not functional. She even buzzed away part of a good tooth that touched this stupid cap and said the way the good tooth touched this artificial cap was causing the pain. It didn't work and she filed down the corner of an uninvolved good tooth for no reason and without consent! I can still feel where it was filed. Then she said it could take 6 months to eat on that side. What?? How did it go from 1 month to 6 months? The staff also gaslit me by saying I shouldn't have flossed or eaten on that side but I asked them before I left if there were any special instructions and the assistant said "nope! You can eat and drink normally". Of course I couldn't do that anyway so I didn't even try but she told me I could floss, which I do habitually. It has been EIGHT MONTHS and I can't chew on that side at all, not even something soft like mashed potatoes. I've been chewing on one side for eight months and I noticed in a photo that my face is now asymmetrical because my left cheek muscle has enlarged whereas my right side has atrophied! Please stay away from this place. It is poor medical/dental practice to compromise the patient for aesthetics, Dr. Kaur should have just said I needed a root canal. read more

Went here for an exam and cleaning and unfortunately had to stop going right after my exam due to the office no longer taking my insurance. The office was clean, staff was friendly. Parking is annoying if the lot is full because it is limited to timed street parking. The tech initially began putting my teeth images under wrong patient and I had to let him know. I didn't like that the dentist schedule was displayed on the wall with appointment times and names. Not sure if that was intentional or it was left up. I did have some fillings done that were fixed quickly and painless, but one chipped less than 2 months later. I'd give this place a higher rating but I ended up having to switch to another local office and the experience was more personable and addressed preventable measures for future problems. read more

Central Coast Dental Care never calls to confirm appointments, even when they are made 6 months in advance for routine check-ups. I had to be sure to call the office myself, without fail, to confirm my appointments since -3 times- there were miscommunications about my appointments. One time my appointment that I had made weeks ago was not in their records but they "fit me in" anyway. Another time I opened the office door for my appointment and all the lights were out, no one was around, and an alarm started blaring... apparently the office was closed! This last time when I called to confirm my appointment I found it had been cancelled because the dentist was going on vacation. When I asked why I had not been informed of this I was told that someone had "tried" but was unable to leave a message on my phone. This is ridiculous since I see no missed calls from them and they also had my email address and my husband's number (who was also their client). I give 3 stars since I was pleased with the care I received when I actually got to see the dentist, but getting in to receive care is such a hassle I needed to switch dentist offices. read more

Central Coast Dental has such a pleasant feel from the moment that you walk through the door. It's a small practice and you don't feel like you're a number. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the hygienist to the dentist is incredibly kind and friendly. I finally realized why people fear dentists when I had my first filling at another practice. I had multiple issues with that filling, so was hesitant to trust another dentist for another filling that I knew I needed. I hate to give this review but I feel like they care more about money than their patients. I went in last year and got an x-ray and they told me I needed some work done on one tooth. At the time I didn't have enough funds since apparently my insurance doesn't cover that much. So this time around I came back to get it fixed and they then found other things wrong with it and stated I needed a root canal. With my insurance it would've been $1400 out of my pocket. And overall they would've banked over 3k on 1 tooth for less than 2 hours of work. I was of course shocked. So, I went ahead and got 2 second opinions in the bay area and they said that I had no infection on the tooth and do not need a root canal and their prices were much fairer. I think Dr. Kaur and Singh are very nice people from my experience and their offices are professional and clean, however, I felt that their diagnoses were overboard and prices are overblown. I used to recommend this place to people but after feeling like all they care about is $$$ and I get it, it's a business, I can no longer refer my friends and family here. My partner had some work done and the original cost he was quoted was so off they ended up charging him extra $900 after his procedure. He told me this dentistry is a rip off and at first I couldn't believe it until I saw for myself. Do yourself a favor and get 2nd opinions before throwing your money to this business. read more

I was told I'm taking excellent care of my teeth & to keep up the good work... the next morning I'm brushing my teeth and I notice my front tooth is chipped... I called them to tell them that the inner corner of my tooth was chipped. (Most likely due to the cleaning from the day before) So I come in, and they recommend that I get a filling.. and try to quote me $350 to fix a tooth that THEY CHIPPED!!!!! Do not come here. They will waste your time. I scheduled an appointment online for a 4pm on October 26th. The day before, I received a vm saying that the doctor would not be in the office after 3 on my scheduled day. Because I work later, I could not call back until the following day and was told the doctor had left and already because she did not have patients. The girl in the office rescheduled me for November 1st at 4pm, as she said a new doctor was starting and would see patients later in the day. October 31, get a call that I scheduled an appointment online and that there were no doctors available at 4pm on 11/1, need to reschedule. I said never mind, but the girl assured me that I could be seen on 11/3 at 4pm. I told her that this was a last chance, as I have pain and need to be seen. Today, 11/3, just received a call that I can't be seen as a new patient after 3pm. I am in pain and I am DONE with this practice. Maybe you've been there and maybe you're able to go early in the day, lucky you. Most people work, but that aside. The runaround was ridiculous, be warned! read more

I had a horrible and stressful experience with this dentist!! I chose to go here last spring because the office is much closer to my house than my regular dentist. I went in for my free cleaning and xrays. The staff and assistant seemed friendly and I got xrays. They then had a big confusion saying I was a patient at the other office and saying I was not a new patient. They said they had my files. My name is not at all common so I was very confused to how they could mix up my file when I was a brand new patient. It got sorted out, but was very strange. Then when the dentist came in, she was harsh and not helpful or friendly. She looked at my teeth for just a few moments and then barked, "You have 6 cavities, go see billing to get this taken care of" and she left the room. I got shuffled off to billing. I was confused and shocked! I never had a cavity in my life and she didn't even tell me what teeth they were! The woman in billing (also the receptionist) quoted me at $900 that I had to pay half that week and half the week after. I didn't have that money on hand because I was not expecting that! I told her that and she advised me to open a Care credit card. I felt extremely pressured and did it. They instantly charged the account even though no services had been done yet. When I told her I had meetings the next week, she urged me to cancel them saying this was very urgent. I went home and spoke to my husband and he said we needed to cancel the credit card, cancel the appointments, and get a second opinion from our regular dentist. We went down there and did that. They didn't seem happy. I set up an appointment with my dentist and it was a hassle getting the xrays released to him. She kept saying they were getting lost in the mail and email. We finally got a copy and they were poor quality. She also made me pay for my free appointment and she never even cleaned my teeth!! The next month, my dentist confirmed at my appointment that I do NOT have any cavities. He said 2 teeth were ones he wanted to keep his eye on so I had a follow up today and he confirmed I need 0 fillings. He did a complete exam, looked at her xrays, and used a cavity detector and could find nothing. Please do not visit this dentist and please get a second opinion. Watch out. It makes me sad to think of the money made with such dishonesty. read more

Dr. Singh was very professional, handsome and very efficient and timely when he performs procedure. The dental office staff were very courteous and friendly. They know your time is valuable and pretty much they're punctual when it comes to appointment time. Today, I left the dental clinic with my new million dollar smile. Arrived at the fashionably decorated office and found staff to extremely friendly and helpful; props to Sabina in particular. The dental technology seemed almost futuristic and let me observe what was happening during the cleaning. This, coupled with Dr. Singh's calm demeanor as he explained the process, helped reduce the "passive" feeling that typically accompanies these procedures. No pain, no anxiety, and no wait.
