I was referred here by a couple of friends. I wasn't impressed. I gave it a couple of appointments and I just didn't feel like I fit in to the vibe. The office is fine. The hygienists were very nice, did a good job. The only time I met the dentist she didn't even greet me. She went straight to the hygienist to discuss my X-rays. When she did greet me she commented 'did I wear my retainer' aka 'your teeth stick out' Did I as long as I should have ? No... I didn't but you know what? My teeth look better now than they did before I had braces. Maybe this was a poor attempt at trying to upsell me braces/ Invisalign/ whatever. After 2 rounds of braces, a bionator (like a retainer but worse) and neck gear I am officially done with that phase of my life. I asked for a quote on a cosmetic fix of one tooth and was quoted almost $3k! I decided for the above reasons to go elsewhere. read more

Dr. Martin is extremely perky and cute. Strange though, that she dismissed me from her office when I said that I wanted to talk to my previous dentist about her recommendation of root planing. I am aware that some dentists get kick-backs from oral surgeons for these procedures but I didn't mention that. I just said that I wanted a routine cleaning and would get back to her about that procedure. I was shocked that she refused to clean my teeth and actually told me to leave her office. If you don't mind being pressured to have a painful, expensive and possibly unnecessary procedure done; she's your girl. read more

I started as a patient at Vista Robles 40 years ago with the Drs. Joe and Joan. I was concerned when they retired and sold their business but I and my husband have been very happy with Drs. Martin and Muñoz and their great staff. I've had the same hygenist for years and for someone who used to hate going to the dentist, I look forward to my visits, having my teeth cleaned, and I know that I will not be persuaded to have work that isn't necessary. They've been conservative with my treatments, identifying and preventing potential cavities instead of filling at the first sign, and making the extra effort to avoid costly procedures, opting instead for preventive care and education. Received a final notice statement for a "Broken Appointment" and a nice little stamp saying I would be sent to collections for not paying the $50 fee. The appointment was only two weeks ago! Is that even legal?! I went in to my appointment ON TIME and had my dog in the car which was reading 80 degrees inside and was worried to leave her in such a hot car so I went into the office and asked the receptionist if I could bring her in and leave her in her cage inside the dental office where it would be cooler. She went back to ask and I heard someone, whom I'll assume was the dentist, tell her that I could tie her up to the pole outside the front door but I couldn't bring her in. "Tie her up outside? Really?" She came back and said I could not and I told her I would need to reschedule because I could not leave a dog in the hot car as it was inhumane. She sat there and stared at me blankly and shooed me out the door with my dog so I told her I did not want to be charged so let her people know and call me to let me know what to do, No call. Now I get a nasty notice from them like I skipped out on my appointment. Was I supposed to abuse an animal to appease them and their insensitive needs? I choose this place thinking it was female owned and they would have more compassion and understanding when in fact it turned out to be the opposite. I am always responsible about showing up and on time and life that day left me with a dog in the hot car. They could have accommodated due to the circumstances, they just choose not to and now I could possibly get sent to collections after two weeks?! Unheard of!! read more

Dr. Martin was detail oriented when it came to replacing my crowns which I really appreciated. However the way the office is run leaves much to be desired, leaving me and my family to go elsewhere. Some of the people outside of the treatment rooms have caused so many issues I will not return. Dr. Martin seems unable to respond appropriately, even though I sent a detailed letter to her explaining the issue. In response, one of the involved staff members left a message on my phone, leaving me to wonder if Dr. Martin actually saw the letter. Billing has been a big source of the diffculties. My first issue occurred when I was told how much my insurance would pay, so upon completion of the work I paid my share, about $900. When the bill was paid by the insurance & I was billed, they did not credit me that amount until I had to get them to look up the credit card payment and show them my receipt that they gave me. Then a family member with different insurance was on my request, put on my bill as well which has also been problematic. Again, I paid a large balance, nearly $800 on a credit card that they accept, with the payment going to them electronically. A month later, they have not credited the account, and sent a bill claiming the total amount was past due. So now, I am again in the process of proving that the amount was paid. In the meantime, the family member who is not responsible for the payment was misinformed by a staff member that I was behind on the bills and there was alot of money owed on the account. It really is sad that this staff person chose to deal with the situation by misrepresenting the situation to my family member rather than call me--the responsible party that they have been billing for this dental work. It made my family member uncomfortable and misrepresented my actual payment of the account in a timely manner. They sent a second bill one day later, adding not only the paid balance of nearly $800 , but the new charges from two days earlier. They could have called me and I would have told them about the payment they had not credited. They sent the two bills back to back, both arriving when the office was closed. A third incident occurred when a secondary insurance was billed, that sent documentation stating that $110 was owed on the bill. The office billed a few hundred dollars more. After pointing out this discrepancy, the insurance company sent out a second notice, claiming that the insurance was not yet valid, and to pay the entire billed amount--contrary to the previous notice. No explanation after this re-billing from the dentist's office or response from the dentist about this troubling discrepancy. I have dealt with medical practitioners for decades as well as insurance companies and have never experienced this type of questionable practices. Rather than reach out with explanations or a simple phone call from the dentist in response to two letters sent to her, both of which were directed at pointing out the discrepancies, Dr. Martin responded by sending a certified letter to my home, which I interpret as escalating the situation. Again, a very unorthodox response to two letters pointing out some big discrepancies with the billing office. All of my bills have been consistently paid in full for the amounts asked for, so its really annoying that because someone did not look the online payment that was made a month earlier. The front end receptionist has been so rude and non-helpful that after speaking to the office manager, she suggested I just avoid her and deal with her instead. For example, on one occasion I called to cancel my teeth cleaning, and when I told her I was not ready to reschedule, she simply hung up on me without saying a word. As far as dental work goes it has not always been that smooth when it comes to the dental assistants. In one instance I had a temporary cap that was not smoothed. I mentioned it did not feel right, so I went back in and again it was not in alignment. I was told it was okay. So after not being able to eat on that side of my mouth, and being in pain because of the clacking, I called again and insisted it be redone because I did not feel good about going to a second dentist for a second opinion on my temporary crown placement. Once they realized that I was serious, it was taken care of--after 3 attempts. Every single crown--I have had three done here, had to be remade at least once, and in some instances 3 times because there was a problem with the lab making them too yellow. I was very clear about them matching my whitened teeth, but the lab seemed to want them more in the canary range. [Sort of kidding ,but they were not pretty] The doctor was quite good about making the changes and was patient, but it seemed like somebody could have figured out how to get their crown associate to get the color right after one try. It was multiple visits all three times that were unnecessarily time consuming. read more

Drs. Martin and Munoz are awesome dentists!! I went to see them after not having been to the dentist after about 3 years due to financial reasons. Luckily, I found this dental office that accepted my insurance. Their entire staff made me feel at home and very comfortable the entire time. Thelma up at the front was very friendly with a good sense of humor. Desire, who took my x-rays, was very professional and pleasant to be worked on by. Julie was a great hygienist, cleaning off the years of plaque build-up on my teeth, all while making me feel very comfortable and relaxed the entire time. Finally, when I was being examined by the doctors, I knew I came to the right place. Their professionalism, as well as their great knowledge of dentistry, made me feel very satisfied and happy I chose them. After the visit, I felt very glad that I found this place and am actually looking forward to my next visit with them, which has never happened to me after going to the dentist before. I've had seen dentists in the past that made me feel as if they were ripping me off by finding all sorts of cavities in my mouth that 'needed to be filled', even though the hygienist would say how clean and healthy my teeth and gums look. I would leave questioning the integrity of their work, feeling as if I was being scammed in a way. But luckily this was not the case at this place, these doctors seem very honest with what they find and provide very quality, thorough work. Simply, I spent over four hours on their chair, over 60% of the time the doctor wasn't there. I had an appointment but the doctor left me several times to treat somebody else. I thought that there was an emergency and when they did leave me for 45 min in my second appointment I decided to leave. There more things to tell about them but I think this is enough, if there is less than one star that would be my review, Abd knowing that I've never gave less than two stars to any body, adding to that my experience with unfair 1 star review for my business makes this review so exceptional and honest. My OWWWWWW!!!!! Turned into WOW!!!!! This review is long over due! I plotted a birthday escape to the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz coupled with a trip to the the aquarium...a nice relaxing three day weekend to celebrate my turning of age... We set sail Thursday night and by Friday morning my jaw was swelling in soaring pain!! It felt like I got kicked in the jaw it hurt soooo bad! I tried to treat it myself with over the counter painkillers and some gum numbing crap but NOTHING would work.. The pain would not subside. I had to face the facts; I had to see a dentist and I needed one NOW! Luckily, I came across Dr. Martin at Vista Robles Dental Group who was willing to see me on an emergency basis (thankfully!) I needed an emergency root canal as the tooth had abscessed and if we didn't act right away I would risk loosing the tooth permanently. (DUN DUN DUN!!) She did an excellent job; I was out of pain and within moments of stepping into the office, I was in the chair and ready to go! She did a most excellent job of getting me numb (which is really hard to do on me), keeping me numb (which is ALSO hard..) and keeping me informed of the process (which I am already very familiar with) read more

Best dental office I have ever been to. I've had Dr. Muñoz and Dr. Martin as my dentist on different visits and both are extremely friendly, personable, and professional. They are quick and have made all of my visits painless. The dental hygienists are also friendly and thorough. The entire staff at Vista Robles Dental group is professional and friendly. Smiles all around! You can tell they enjoy what they do. At the end of your semi annual check ups, you also get a nice travel pouch with a great tooth brush and travel sized toothpaste and floss. I recently had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Martin's husband (can't remember his name). He comes to the office once a month and was amaaaazzzziiinnggggg. If I had to do it again, which thank god I don't have to since they're all out, I would definitely have him remove mine. My whole wisdom teeth extraction appointment from start to finish took no longer than 40 mins. Pre-op and post-op care instructions were great. He even called me personally that evening to make sure everything was ok. I had a follow up appointment with Dr. Muñoz and it went smoothly. I've had a great experience at this office. I was suddenly and unexpectedly in need of a dentist when I contacted the office through the website, I received a call within minutes and was in the chair a couple hours later so that was impressive. There was a bit of a wait for the Dr., but it was an emergency appointment so its understandable, besides the assistant was there and she was very helpful in preparing everything for the Dr., it also was not an extremely long wait time. I was seen by Dr. Munoz who was kind and compassionate and the epitome of professional, what more could one ask for? After a bit the hygienist, Jeannie took over. OMG!! Jeannie is amazing!! I was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by everything that caused me to be there that day by the time she entered the room, but she has this way about her that is very warm and comforting, she made me feel better anyway. I also thought the front office was very helpful and was very easy to and super informative. I give her credit for making this review possible, so sorry I am terrible with names! I was in a desperate situation when I found that my front cups dropped out of the mouth! Being a teacher and staying without front teeth was worse than any nightmare, and it was real! If not Dr. Linda Martin, I could not even imagine what else, I could do! She found the best solution to fix it right from the first visit and all the team has been working hard to fix my problems with teeth on a permanent basis. It includes partials and implants, and I would not be able to afford that if not the special plan that they offered to me. All the team works perfectly well! They are very flexible to find time for me with my crazy schedule, and never keep me waiting for more than 10 min.! The surgery for my front teeth was done by Dr. Brian Car, the highest level professional! It did not bring any discomfort and I quickly returned back to my lessons with lots of speaking! My temporary partials for the front teeth work well not only for speaking but even for eating. I am in the process of repairs, and it would be way off that I could afford, but everything is possible when the highest level professionals take care of you! As a young girl, I was traumatized by a dentist. The experience left me with an irrational fear of dentistry. I'd become so upset in a dentist's chair that I'd shake and hyperventilate. By far, this is the best dentist office I have ever been been to. Service is great since the moment you arrive and are greeted. Not only is the whole staff super friendly and professional, but they do an amazing job every appointment I have. Not do I only get my twice a year cleaning here, but was able to take care of two cavities in the years I've been coming here. They always take their time and are very thorough and don't rush to get you out of the chair. Doctor Muños and Martin are very kind, and always very informative specially during procedures. They really take care of you here. I had to bring my 3 year old with me for a root canal and they were more than accommodating, making sure he was comfortable and not bored or interrupting the procedure. Everyone is extremely pleasant, the doctors and the staff. They offer you blankets and pillows and even let you put in headphones to listen to music. I have bad anxiety already, and it soars when going to the dentist, but they were able to take steps to help me calm down. Dr Munoz even called me afterward to check up on me. Oh, and they definitely work with you on payments. Most dentists make you feel bad if you can't afford a specific treatment but this office will bend over backwards to make sure you get what you need done. Two of the most friendly, skilled, and patient doctors you'll meet. Both Dr. Munoz and Dr. Martin have logged a fair amount of time in this construction zone I call a mouth, and I can honestly say that I've put my dental anxieties aside for them. As a testament to their skills, the quality work they've done has held for a few years now and I only have to see them for my normal cleanings/checkups. The entire staff is a well-oiled machine, from scheduling, to paperwork, to dealing with all my insurance nonsense. In conclusion, I will just say this: I live about an hour-and-a-half away, and considering my work schedule, traffic, and where I live, making the trip out to VRDG is certainly an inconvenience. I was referred to this office by a close family friend and have thanked him every since. I have had a phobia of going to the dentist every since childhood and my recent visit to this office helped me forget about my past bad experiences. Rachel, the dental assistant, not only answered all of my questions, she is extremely knowledgable. You can tell she knows her dentistry, she should be a dentist herself. Rachel also has a terrific sense of humor which was comforting. Her and Dr. Muñoz worked great as a team. I was seen promptly at my appointment time and did have to wait like other doctor visits. The dentist experience was fine, but I wonder if Dr Munoz knows what goes on with the billing. I was told my insurance was accepted and then when I received the bill it was well over the 30% copay. When I called to ask about the confusion and misrepresentation of fee coverage, I was told they charge higher 'preferred' fees. This was not disclosed to me and any point, and they were uninterested in doing anything to rectify the situation. -Other than to say that 'some customers get confused with insurance'. read more
