She is a nursing mother, and so asked if she could use the shop's restroom to pump, to which Gene replied that the restroom was unusable for at least a day because SCUBA suits were bringing drip dried, and having a customer use the facilities there would be a liability. He also denied any locations nearby had restrooms, or any other rooms at the establishment could be used. My friend resorted to crossing the street to a cabinet store who thankfully allowed her to use the facilities. Even apart from this, CPR the instruction itself was stressful, involved a lot of yelling, and was overall a negative experience. The instructor included a firearms scenario in the instruction, utilising a fake gun. Gene assumed the role of yelling distractor, 911 operator giving incorrect information, and criminal who steals the fake gun. All this to say, not what you'd expect from a CPR class, or an establishment of any kind.

Oh my gosh! Joly and his staff were great. We went in to buy a mask and snorkel for our snorkel…read moretrips in the future. We were just folks from suburbia trying to get educated on the best personalized mask/snorkel combo. Joly was so helpful and educated us on what we needed. We both walked out with the most comfortable mask for each of us. The prices were reasonable (at least we thought so having no basis for what the heck snorkel equipment costs!) We used them in St. Kitts with success, albeit we both had to adjust the tightness of the straps because we were actually in the water and not in the shop. This did take about 20 minutes to get right while floating in the ocean. Highly recommend Joly and his staff at Tri-State Scuba!

I really can't say enough good things about Tri State Scuba…read more Joly and his team are first and foremost dive enthusiasts and experts and you can tell when they are teaching the passion they have for the sport. Secondly, the customer experience comes first to them. Joly has gone out of his way multiple times to make sure the gear I was purchasing was the right size and was the perfect gear for what I was looking for, on top of that he saved me more than a few hundred dollars. Steve and Mike, the dive instructors, are true experts and excellent teachers to boot. I never felt rushed or under prepared for any task or skill they would reach. Consummate professionals. Coming from KY, I was asked a few times by friends and family why I was driving to Cincinnati every weekend for SCUBA class and it's because there is no better experience, environment or team to learn from in the Tri State area. Literally can't say enough good things about each member of the team and how much of a resource they are. Above and beyond is an understatement. If you want to get into SCUBA diving, don't hesitate to come to this shop.

Non inclusive group that's certifying unready divers as dive masters and assistant instructors…read more(very much "you pay, you get the cert" environment). While we initially enjoyed learning from & diving with this crew, the hatefulness towards LQBTQ community that many of our foster kids are a part of and repeatedly watching them certify folks as dive leaders who were iffy on being capable divers themselves drove us away. Hate losing the connection to local dive community, but having our kids exposed to the off handed, hateful comments was a no go for us and the combined safety concerns didn't help.

This family owned business has been everywhere and won't hesitate to talk about all the fun they have, I love that. Training prices are average but equipment is pricey. I don't know if they negotiate on prices, but you can ask them to price match (I don't know if they will do that). They do have a few of the major brands in stock, but I'd call ahead to see if they have what you need in stock. Also, they are the only PADI shop in the area.
