This is the best thing I have found for my dog in a long time! I don't normally review anything other that restaurants, but this place is the bomb! My lab is 65# and everything I needed was there including the support. Shampoos (2) on tap, towels, high velocity blow dryer, temperature controlled water, large raised tub with stairs, apron for me and grooming brushes. And i don't have to clean up! All for 14 bucks? Really? I gave her 20! Well worth it and I can be with my dog to make sure he is clean to my specifications. I will be back monthly. It beats trying to give him a bath in my house in the winter with him messing up the bathroom, and having him roll in the dirt after his bath outside in the summer. read more

We are so pleased these guys have opened up a second location! Like most good things that are happenin' in Hagerstown, their first store is in Frederick. I was just there yesterday, and got both dogs bathed for $26 in their clean, spacious self serve area. These guys make it so easy with all supplies needed on-hand including: aprons for the humans, shampoo, conditioner, useful grooming tools, towels, and of course the requisite dog treat! All this plus an awesome music mix playing in the background. They also have a nice selection of treats, dog food and toys for sale. read more

I never noticed this small store front until one day when I needed a bag of dog food and my usual go to store was out I went there. When I walked in I was shocked by the large selection and friendly knowledge staff.Because of that one experience this is now my go to store. Inside they have a large selection of toys,treats and dog food. They even have a section dedicated to cats. The owners also have a friendly buddy always there, a cat that they keep in a adoption area along with other cats they get from the humane society. And one of my favorite parts is they have a free sample bin of treats and new dog. That bin is right next to the grooming/dog washing area. I usually wash my dog myself during the winter I'll go to them sometimes if I'm really lazy and don't feel like driving out to my groomer. But over all I would highly recommend if you love your pet like I love mine for you to check this place out your self. read more

I try to support local businesses and have driven by Petsmart many times knowing that I would be paying higher prices for treats to support Central Dawgma.....no more......I will find a different local business to support......yesterday I walked into the store with my dog on a leash wearing a shock collar when a lady (I assume the owner) bolted out from behind the counter and in a condescending tone told me " shock collars are not to be used in her store" and ordered me not to take the remote out.....first off.... if she politely asked me not to use it I wouldn't have an issue but I didn't appreciate her snarkiness was taken aback by it, I treat people with respect and expect to be treated likewise and that didn't happen and second.....I realize this is her establishment but who is she to tell me how to train my dog?.....when she walks, bathes, takes him on hikes etc.....her opinion will matter to me.....until then I could care less..... read more

I love Central Dawgma and have been patronizing the store and dog wash as long as I can remember. The Self-service dog wash is excellent with a number of stalls, fresh towels, soap, conditioner, nail cutters, waterproof aprons and blow dryers. My dogs like the low stall last in the row - easy to jump in. Nothing like this in Montgomery County, I drive 1/2 hour to wash them here. There is a wonderful selection of high end canned food and super-premium kibble, and fresh-baked grain-free dog cookies, my two adore them. Finally, they have two refrigerators stocked with top quality frozen raw food, and their prices are excellent. I'm moving out of state in the spring and I will sorely miss Central Dawgma! read more

We took our 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs here to try the dog wash. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were even assisted with lifting one of our dogs into the tub when he was hesitant about the steps. They provided towels, shampoo, conditioner, brushes, eye wipes, and aprons. This definitely beats having to clean up all the dog hair after bathing them at home! read more

I love this place! Everybody here is always so helpful and they provide you with good information. They are not just interested in selling you something they are interested in providing you what you need for your pets without having to spend a ton of money. First and last time I have my dogs groomed here ..... choppy, choppy choppy, unprofessional "apprentice" type cuts - not at all manicured. A professional dog groomer should not be on top of what it is they do. I actually groom my own dogs (self taught & not professional); I do a much better job than their "professional" I will never return! read more

First, they have Fromm's Gold dog food. Awesome. (They also have a lot of other stuff, too, but this was what got me in the door.) This specialty dog grooming and supply store is clean and organized BUT the people who work here are rude and standoffish. As a first timer to the store, I was interested in finding out more about dog food options. Both the older and younger salesclerk did not seem inclined to help. On the whole, we are a big fan of Central Dawgma. The price for both of our dogs (25 and 30 pounds) is an even $10 for each. In that price, they include the use of a tub and as much (three different kinds of) shampoos as you deem necessary. They also provide clean towels and a power dryer to dry off your dog in case they have a heavy coat. They also provide smell good spray for a long-term break from the doggy smell and nail clippers, even with quick stop in case you accidentally cut them too short. The only issue we find is that the power dryer seems to only have one temperature- cold. I used to be a groomer and our power dryers went from room temperature to warm, which I much preferred. I also don't really think that the price, while low- is worth it for a dog with very little fur, like a boxer or pit-bull. Those dogs don't need to be power-dryed and can get just as much of a good scrub at home in a bath tub. The store front also sells a wide variety of dog toys and foods, but at a slightly higher price than you would find at a bigger chain pet store. read more

We took our German Shepard to The Dawg Wash last month for the self-service bath and loved this place. The bathing area is spacious with individual "cubicals" for each tub. They offer a variety of shampoos to choose from (included in the price). Ripley had a tub with a window that he could look out of while he bathed; he loved it. They also gave us a punch card for the 10th self service wash free. Great place! If you are tired of overpaying for a groomer or hurting your back stooping at home give this place a try. read more

Poor customer service!!! Called to see what time they closed and was told I had 5 mins. Well I got there in 4 per my phone( which automatically updates the time) and SURPRISE......THEY ARE ALREADY CLOSED!!!! Too bad there isn't another store that offers quality dog food in the area..... I may just have to order online to get my babies their food since this place is not concerned with Customer Service.... Great place to take your dog and wash it yourself. It is very cheap to do and they supply everything for you except the dog. They also have dog grooming and it is a pet store with everything you need for your dog. read more
