I took my Yamaha S-90 in to see if they could repair it back on April 27, 2026. I've had this synth since about 2005 and it was still in excellent condition other than the fact that I had to let it warm up for about 10-minutes before I could play it and when it did work sometimes the sustain pedal would stay engaged permanently until I unplugged it. I dropped the keyboard off to Fernando and it was a $125 diagnostic fee for the service. I had not received any feedback from Fernando or his team so I decided to check-in at the two-week mark (May 11) to see how things were coming along. Fernando informed me that they are trying to secure parts from Yamaha and would call me back as soon as he hears back from Yamaha, possibly later today. Fernando explained that keyboard has two circuit boards and they both need a chip replacement, the chips are on back order and the boards are not in stock. I reached back out to Fernando a month later on June 11th to see if he had updates and he informed me that he already explained to me that they were still waiting on parts. I asked him what is the timeframe on the parts and he said it could be up to 24 months. Oh, hell no, I said, I don't time for that, at this point I told him I would just buy a new keyboard because that one would cost more to repair than it is worth. Fernando said that I could use the $125 diagnostic fee to buy a new synth or keyboard or whatever I wanted from his store which was great. He urged me to purchase a used like-new Yamaha MX88 synth from him for roughly $900 but I wasn't interested. I had already done my research and went with a brand-new Yamaha DGX-670-B, which was everything I needed and more. I purchased the keyboard from Fernando and picked up my keyboard about 6 days later and am very satisfied with the purchase. The downside to my purchase is Fernando purchased the keyboard from Sweetwater who offers a 2-year warranty to the account holder that purchased the item, so that is not transferrable to me. I already tried to set this up with Sweetwater but they won't transfer the purchase to my name even though I bought the item. Yes, Fernando does offer a 1-year warranty but it would have been great to have that extra year coverage. Fernando has a great little store with just about anything you need. It's unfortunate he was unable to fix my old Yamaha but electronics just don't last forever. Ultimately, I am very satisfied with my purchase and I am happy to support small business; however, I have to say that Fernando could make an effort to improve his communication with customers to keep them up to date on what is going on, at least contact the customer once a week either by phone call, text, or email. I was in no major rush, but it's kind of crazy to finally get this process over in mid-June when we started in April. If I knew the parts were unavailable, I would have just ordered my new one from Sweetwater or Guitar Center and got a 2-year Warranty. Fortunately, I went with Yamaha and it should last me a long time. read more

Repaired speaker lasted less than a week in service. Owner is quick to blame customer. This was a B&C18SW115. Even employees of B&C say the repair job looks bad/faulty. When asked over and over again if they use genuine parts and if they follow the manufacturers recommendation for glue and prep they refuse to answer questions and instead threaten to sue everyone that talks bad about them. This is the worst place to take any receiver to have restored. They are rude and very inconsiderate and will not return text messages calls or emails. I had my receiver there to have it restored and they only worked on that for about two and a half hours if that and charged me over $900 . I suggest if anybody is going there to have anything repaired do your homework. I will be taking my stereo to another repair shop to see exactly what they did and or didn't do and then I will move forward and small claims court to receive my funds back. I called this particular company inquiring if they repaired keyboards? I stated I have a Korg Triton with (1) broken note that needs repair. The technicians reply was "Absolutely! Here are the fees A $100.00 diagnostic fee, and about $30 to $60 more for parts and labor. I was fine with that until I got the bill. It was another $282.00 He stated that he had to replace 5 notes because they now come in sets of 5 along with all the labor cost. I explained to him the newer keyboards require that, Not a keyboard that was made in 1999. I googled and showed him the information concerning the Korg Triton, and compared it with a Yamaha Motif/Montage ect. I then asked "Now where are the 5 broken notes you claimed you fixed? "I DONT SEE BUT ONE!!!!!! He than became very quiet and distant. A total of $382.00 for one broken note and a web of lies. NEW REVIEW / Same RUDE OWNER / 06/14/22 I left this below review previously and actually had a response from the business. It is inaccurate, he mentions "Due to the fact that the speaker had blown due to the way it was being used". Well that does not make sense, but I was trying to explain to the owner how our systems are run, but he did not want to hear it and continued to talk over me very loudly. My business was refused, the owner said my money was not very much compared to other business, and I was pushed out the door. I had two speakers on a cart and he opened the door and pushed the cart out and held the door and asked me to leave. Now, here is some additional information, In 2021 we had 8-EAW LC1535/15" speakers reconed there, around $1000, and they connected all 8 speaker leads backwards, so the + was hooked up to the - . They did not even offer to repair, they just said switch the internal speaker box wires. At the end of the day a professional speaker repair shop did not even test the speaker or the speaker polarity to ensure quality control. BTW, the speaker in question in the review is one of these 8 that were repaired in 2021. They say in the response that If we have an interest, to bring back the speaker for repair or buy a replacement. This is just damage control, and I have NO interest in going back, this establishment has lost my business, and others should beware. I attempted to explain how we use the speaker and how it tis wired and just rudely talked over me, cutting me off several times and not even willing to listen to my story. These guys have been in business for years and I personally have been doing business with them for probably 15yrs or so. We originally purchased our JBL L220 speakers in late 1978, back when, as newlyweds, they were truly a luxury item. These four-foot tall, walnut-veneered speakers were our first major purchase and have accompanied us through four residential moves in our married life. Recently we brought them to our home in Boca Raton, FL. After 38 years they were in need of re-foaming and a general overall evaluation.
