It was not easy work as a personal nurse assistant caring for elderly with many needs. Especially physical needs. She did a lot of lifting, bathing and medical work. My fond Memories consist of our walks daily to leave her at her job at Terrance Cardinal Cooke. Three of us would walk from our breakfast place at 97th and Madison. Her, and her husband, with me tagging along. Her husband wanted to be sure she arrived safe every day. Her shift started very early. Most days we saw the sun rise at the Conservatory Garden across the Street. She always spoke highly of her employer. She was so dedicated. I was invited inside to use the bathroom at times. I found it to be a very nice welcoming environment. Clean and secure. There's always a security official at the lobby entrance. I have no idea what the conditions are for residents. I know my friend was very caring and dedicated. I for one hope I don't have to ever live in one of these residences. Eventually I lost contact with these friends. I heard she retired and her and her husband no longer make the long commute into the city. I still think of them and miss their friendship. I honestly think they got sick of me! Everyone has their own problems. I hope they are both as happy in their retirement as I am.

Candidates whose nationality is from a country outside the United States are hired more quickly than law-abiding American citizens. The hiring staff prioritize hiring West Indian, Caribbean, African-born, and Hispanic individuals over American citizens who were born in the United States and speak and understand English. At least 86 percent of the staff are not of American origin. The hiring department discriminates against American applicants. ArchCare is more concerned about the money they receive from the patient than the actual medical care given. The medical staff provide the bare minimum if they even do that. I wouldn't let a sick stray dog be cared for at ArchCare because it would mostly die in the hands of these people. The management staff, Doctors, Nurses and CNA's only care about their paychecks. If you're looking for a place to be mistreated & to die go to an ArchCare living facility.

My father is 99 years old and currently a resident at Amsterdam Nursing Home, and our family could…read morenot be more grateful for the care he receives there. Every time I visit -- even unannounced -- the facility is immaculate, clean, organized, and welcoming. Most importantly, the staff treats my father with genuine love, kindness, patience, and respect. He is truly happy there. He speaks so highly of the nurses, aides, and staff, and it is very clear they truly care about him as a person. That means everything to our family. His room is always neat and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere feels warm and caring. The location across from Cathedral of St. John the Divine is also beautiful and peaceful. This nursing home deserves five stars and more. Thank you to everyone there for the compassion and dignity you give to the residents every single day.

I wanted to inform families that patient advocate's are comparison and helpful. They return phone calls. They answer your questions. The physical therapist is extremely helpful. The staff takes care of patients 100%. I feel confident with this facility.
