This was one of the most unacceptable service experiences I've ever had, and it goes far beyond poor customer service--it involved repeated trespassing, negligence, and a complete lack of accountability. Twice in one week, this company sent workers onto my property without permission to open a pool I never scheduled. The first time, we caught them in our backyard and were forced to call the police, who confirmed they had the wrong customer and told them to leave. Despite being clearly warned by both us and the police, they returned the next morning and continued working even after I told them again to leave--this was not a mistake, it was repeated trespassing. When I arrived home after the second time, the damage and disregard were obvious. The pool cover had been removed and equipment was displaced. Nothing was restored. They entered without permission, performed unauthorized work, and left the property in worse condition. What's worse is how the company handled it afterward. They admitted they were in the wrong, yet took no real steps to fix their mistakes. When they returned "to fix it", all they did was loosely put the ladder on. In the process, chlorine was dumped onto our patio, and a jet was left missing. They didn't correct the damage--they created more. When we raised these issues, we were met with outright hostility and dismissal. We were told, "what more do you want," and then hung up on. Both the owner, Steven and support staff, Lisa B, were rude, defensive, and completely unwilling to take responsibility--even after acknowledging their error. This company trespassed multiple times, failed to correct their mistakes, caused additional damage, and then treated us with disrespect when we asked for accountability. Avoid at all costs and go with a reputable and respectful company *Only solution Steven would agree on was to give us a new jet if we showed up to the store with a part number. He said he was not offering any services. read more

Arrogant liars , expensive and unprofessional, when initially contracted they promised a start date that never happened! Hit me with thousands of dollars worth of change orders without my consent or approval , worst yet the pool was ready to receive the liner and they demanded to get paid for what they said was steel installation that I could not see? I had a really tough time the last 3 1/2 years with this company. I had a liner put in, and every year after, I had issues with the liner coming loose, water behind my liner, and losing water. They brushed it off as evaporation and/or groundwater seeping in. They would not accept the fact that there was more to it. I ended up going to Wet Willie's, and they helped me out. They got a diver and found the light fixture to have major cracks, something the installers should have seen when they put the liner in. I had to empty the pool, losing all the chemicals that had just been added. Stephen, the owner, actually said I could swim in the pool until they came after the 4th of July. The pool had water behind the liner and was lifted and had ripples throughout. There was no way to vacuum without damaging it. So, it was very frustrating when trying to tell them it must be a leak, and he insisted on drawing me a sketch of how groundwater comes in. I'm done with this place. read more

I worked with Patti in the Service Department and she couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The service team came out and was able to put a temporary fix on the pool so that it would last until we were ready to close it. We have been working with CJP for decades. The service department in particular Patti is stellar. I am a person who would say if there was anything wrong. However, we have had two liners replaced by CJP. They kept us informed and made sure that soon as they could it was installed. They open and close our pool as well. The gentlemen that come out are prompt and go the extra mile for clients. There are numerous competitors that are cheaper. However, because their people are so responsive (as are the owners) They will continue to have our loyalty. read more

We were looking for a new pool service company to close our newly plastered pool. CJP was not the cheapest but based on reviews felt comfortable with them being the best option. As we were scheduling our pool service for this year they decided that they were concerned with managing newly plastered pool leaving us to scramble and find another new company. Great experience working with all teams involved with this project. I purchased a swim spa, back in September. Had some challenges with the town , but CJP team was always available to provide assistance when needed and never pressured me to have the Spa delivered. The sales person Leon was very helpful with providing professional companies to address the concrete and electrical work. Lisa continued to contact me regularly to ensure I was fully informed about all the details for the delivery, both for the CJP team and the crane company. Her proactive approach and attention to detail made the entire process much smoother. I also want to recognize, Dan and his delivery team for their professionalism. Part of the delivery required using my neighbor's property, and Dan worked closely with the crane company to ensure there was absolutely no impact to their property. Their attention to detail and care made the process seamless. Finally, a special thanks to TJ from Shinn Cranes. He was outstanding from the start, arriving a few weeks early to review the property and identify the best path to get the spa to the backyard. This was a lot to take in, but TJ was always available to answer any questions leading up to the delivery. Everything went exactly as he described, and I truly appreciate his thoroughness and reliability. We've been a long time customer of Central Jersey Pools. Starting with an above ground pool purchase over 25 years ago through opening and closing our inground pool for the past 20 years at our 2nd home in town, we have bought furniture and accessories as well as chemicals, accompanied by great advice from Dottie, over all these years. This review is about the purchase and delivery of our outdoor kitchen. We chose a configuration that was in the process of construction and it was delivered on time as planned (within 2 weeks of purchase)! The 4 men that came to deliver and place it were professional, capable and helpful. Placement and preparation for final hookup was done carefully, accurately and in a very friendly way. RUde and nasty people are employed there. Don't you dare try and return an item or have them honor a warranty. It angers them and they will lash out at you. Some guy named Steve claims to be the owner and responsible for the store but he just hangs up on you if you call and try and resolve a situation. I contacted them on June 5 or 6 to schedule a repair and possible cleaning of my pool. It's June 30 today and i still haven't heard back from them. I filled out a contract agreement and returned it and didn't hear back so i called them aprox a week later and spoke to whoever's in charge of scheduling and she told me that she saw my "ticket" for the repairs but not the cleaning so she added the cleaning "ticket" that day as well. It's been about another 2 weeks and i still haven't heard back at all. My pool is still green so i worked on it a little and got the filter working enough to run the pool and yesterday i was forced to buy a used vacuum for $475 just to give the pool a one-time cleaning. That's really inexcusable. read more

They came out on a technical issue with my pool not functioning since our freeze a week or so go. I was unable to be at home at the time. They kept in complete communication with me thru texts. The tech was able to take pictures of the area involved and let me know exactly what would be needed. I felt very confident with what he said was wrong and a very fair appraisal of the cost of repairs. I truly appreciate his communication skills and his level of service was excellent. We got lucky and saw a sales sign in the front of the building. We pulled into the parking lot and within 30 minutes Elliot got us in and out with a new Hot tub. Purchased a new Spa and it needed service after 2 weeks. I called the store for service and after being transferred 6 times and then finally got to speak to a lady that did not work in service but in pool chemicals. She was really rude but did tell me I needed to speak with Lisa in service but she left for the day and to call back tomorrow. We called the next day and spoke to Lisa who was EXTREMELY polite and professional and made us an apt for that same day. The Tech came out and repaired our Spa in a very short time and was very knowledgeable. He had the Spa running again and it has been working good ever since. The owner did reach out to discuss the rude treatment and after a semi unpleasant start to the conversation with him it did end nicely and professional. We are human and all have bad days, and hopefully that 1 nasty employee was just having a bad day. read more

I only go here if I have to. Their prices are absurd. Examples, I buy four gallons of chlorine for 16.99 over in Keansburg on route 36 south. At Home Recreation is the name of the place, I think. At Central Jersey Pools? 26.99. I needed a filter cartridge. Central Jersey Pools, 120 bucks. I bought it at In The Swim for 80 dollars. If you are cost conscious and take a little time to shop around, CJP will be your last option to buy from. read more

My Jacuzzi was showing error codes and then stopped functioning. I purchased a Jacuzzi from another company which has since stopped selling and servicing Jacuzzi brand. I contacted Jacuzzi and they directed me to Central Jersey Pools to service my spa. Upon contacting Central Jersey Pools at the end of November, I spoke to a friendly guy, Jason. He took my serial number and confirmed that it was still under warranty and that they could fix the spa for free and that I only had to pay the $150 service charge. I agreed. Shortly, a technician arrived to fix it. He diagnosed the issue as a failed pump, causing it not to power on. He replaced the pump with a unit from the floor model at their showroom. When I returned home, I saw that it was running again but is still showed the same error codes. Reviewing the manual, it told me that it could be the flow switch or the circuit board which I confirmed with Jacuzzi customer service. I promptly called back Jason at Central Jersey Pools. However, he was no longer friendly, but rather rude and short in his answers. He rescheduled the technician to come out again. The technician arrived again a few days later and said that the issue is the flow switch and it needs to be replaced. He said that he did not have the part on his truck and he would go back to the store and get a new one and return the same day if he had it in stock. If not, he would call me and let me know that he needed to order a new one. Weeks went by and I called more than 10 times to Jason but he kept telling me that he would call me back with information when they could install the new switch. Ultimately, I never received a call back. I spoke to another person at Central Jersey Pools and was told that Jason resigned. She was unaware of my issue and confirmed that no parts were ordered. I demanded to speak with an owner to see if this situation could be rectified. Within an hour, one of the owners called me. His name is Steven Metz. I expressed my dismay and frustration to him. Instead of an apology, he yelled at me and told me that he shouldn't have to fix my Jacuzzi since he doesn't make any money off of me since I didn't buy the Jacuzzi from him. I told him that he was designated by Jacuzzi to do so but he still complained that it was not worth his time and didn't want to order the part. This made me angrier and I told him that they should have told me this 6 weeks prior before Jason agreed to service it. After a short argument, he agreed to move forward and order the part and then did apologize at the end of this conversation. At this point I felt uncomfortable doing business with Central Jersey Pools so I called Jacuzzi. I told them the story and asked if someone else could service my Jacuzzi. They told me that I was not the first to complain about Central Jersey Pool's service and provided me contact information for another company much further away from my home. I contacted the newly recommended company who promptly told me that I needed a new flow switch as determined from the error code. Therefore, I canceled the order with Central Jersey Pools. The new company ordered the part and came all the way out to my home and installed it. He also stayed around to do diagnostics and testing of the Jacuzzi. Finally it was repaired. I paid this company $130 for the service call. The next day, my credit card was billed $159 by Central Jersey Pools. I called Steven Metz and asked him why he was charging me. He told me that I was charged for the service call. I said "but you never repaired my Jacuzzi". He said that his company installed a pump. I explained that the work did not repair the Jacuzzi and that I needed to call another company to fix it and I paid them instead. I have since put this charge on my card in dispute. Central Jersey Pools is completely unreliable, rude and incompetent. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I would never treat customers like they treated me. Shame on them. I don't understand how this company is still in business. When you call there, the recording says that if you are not satisfied, you can speak with the owners. Don't bother. Steve is a horrible person to do business with and is disrespectful and rude. This must be why Jason resigned. Hmmm. read more

Poor service for my Clearwater Spa. Canceled on me twice before holiday then we went into deep freeze. I reached out again and was told nothing they could do entire week between Christmas and New Years. Entire week of below zero temps and nothing they could do after cancelling previously! Needless to say I am done with this group. BTW the circulation pump was only one year old and I have suspicion that poor pump was once again the culprit. Beware poor service if they don't sell you the spa EVEN if they are listed by manufacturer as a service option! read more

I only have positive things to say about Central Jersey Pools. When we first started looking, we chose CJP. We were met by Elliott and he was just great. He showed all of the possible options - pros and cons of everything. He provided us with install estimates so we can plan accordingly moving forward. He didn't pressure us into a sale but his overall demeanor helped seal the deal with purchasing a pool from him. He answered any questions promptly and professionally. The delivery of the pool was arranged by Lisa and she was great too. I tend to ask a lot of questions and Lisa was very patient with me. We will definitely be returning to buy what we need for our above ground pool and would definitely recommend them. read more
