If you have a plain pool with no feather ... this is the company for you, just beware of their attitude. If you have spa/jets feature you are totally screwed. Took 3 attempts to open the spa pool. The attitude from the manager and surprisingly from the owner was "not my problem". Never an effort of making me feel valued. The owner was suppose to call me back after he talked to the crew... still waiting for that call. Paid $370 to open the pool ... the most I ever paid for a massive headache. read more

Anthony, who is the owner, or the person in charge (I'm not sure which) is very patient, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful Last year, before I knew about them, I spent much money on unneeded chemicals that did not help. Anthony pointed me in the proper direction, and pool problems were resolved. This year, he helped me again! The staff in this store is patient, courteous and caring. When someone does not know somethin, they do not pretend to know it, but refer customer to the person who can help with the particular problem. I can't speak to their sales and service departments, as all I have ever used Valley Spas for is basic chemicals, water balancing & basic pool accessories. The store seems to be staffed primarily by young kids with one or two "experts" on hand to help out. They do free on site water testing, which is convenient albeit pretty standard now as it is a service that obviously drives chemical sales. There is no choice in terms of chemical brand, they appear to only carry one brand of most major chemicals on site. The prices are on the high side of average. My primary motivation to shop here is the fact that they are within walking distance. If you're in a pinch, they'll probably have what you need to keep your pool clean and safe for swimming on site, but if you have time you can certainly do better for price and selection elsewhere. read more

In the last 21 years that I own a pool I have never been charged 125$ for lowering water level during pool closing. This pool company did that to me - that in my books is sleazy business. Also the attitude of the people that came to close my pool was "we are doing you a favor - the way you opened your pool is all wrong fold the cover next time this way - otherwise leave it to the professionals" - really ?? I purchased a beautiful Hot Springs Jetsetter hot tub from Valley Spa & Pools. It is one of their better hot tubs and I was given a great price for it. Anthony and Pat were wonderful. They answered all of my questions and gave me great information on how to maintain my new hot tub. Delivery was prompt and they were very careful when bringing the hot tub onto my deck. Any time I had a question, I spoke with Anthony, who was more than helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend Valley Spa & Pools to anyone who is in the market for a hot tub or swimming pool. I have worked with Valley spas and pools all season. We have used them for pool cleaning and maintenance. We elected to sign up for the weekly program with all chemicals included (the top tier program). Service: when I would call with questions or an issue I would get the line "you are one of our best customers. we will do everything to help". Meanwhile the issues never really got resolved. For example when a part of my pump was not working they came and replaced another, working part, and then billed me (with credit card info on file) without my approval. when I called to state the problem was not fixed they did me a "favor" to come back to fix the problem. Cleaning: when I was home one day with the car in the garage the pool cleaning guys came by left a service note that the pool was cleaned, tested, chemicals added, and vacuumed. I personally witnessed them NOT do anything. Very disappointed. When I called I was instructed that they would give me another cleaning on the house... Truly it is the feeling that my family is swimming in unclean waters with fake cleanings that bothers me. not to mention the fact that I paying big $$ for this. Lastly I was charged for an extra cleaning without my consent. The first issue is that they did not do an extra cleaning. the bigger issue is that the charged my card without consent.... again even though I explicitly told them that is not OK! I contacted Valley Pool initially in June when we decided to start the process for getting an in-ground pool. I called left messages and never got a call back. I called and spoke to him on 3 or 4 separate occasions (the last being just 15 minutes ago). I sent him the survey for my property and no response. When I called, he said it was given to a sales person whom I never heard from. I am prepared to spend tens of thousands of dollars on an in ground pool and I can't get a price? A callback? Some nonsense about waiting for Middlesex County to get back to them regarding easement. Not one call from them. Every time I called it was like starting over "How can I help you" Well know you can't help me. I go shopping for a 30K car and I get 5 follow up calls from sales people and management, I go to Valley Pool and I get no follow up, no sales visit, no options, NOTHING and I was prepared to spend over 50K. If you want a pool I would suggest National or anyone else. Valley Pool must have so much business they don't need to call anyone back. Eventually the business will be looking for new sales, but I will never call them or do business with them ever. read more

I'm a happy customer. We purchased our Hot Springs spa from Valley years ago from Sonny. Besides a water check, I've been able to maintain the spa myself. Overall, the Hot Springs spa has been super reliable with no issues over the years. Recently, I needed service from Valley. Once a spa break needed to be replaced. The other time, my air circulation pump died. Both parts were old with regular wear and tear. Valley quickly came out and replaced the parts. Both times the techs were professional and timely. I started looking for our new pool last year in the fall. I went to a couple of pool places and was very impressed with the service and knowledge I received when I came here. I highly recommend them. Pat helped me through all the steps, answered all my questions, and was there for me every time. After the pool was installed, I needed help getting the ladder in and they came right over to help. hey have 18 year old no-nothings "help" you. They clearly have no idea what they are talking about. I paid them $250+ to "open" my pool. When it stayed green they immediately jumped to the contract and said I would need a "maintenance plan" to fix the problem. Maintenance plan? Don't you need to get the pool open started befor eyou hit me up for maintenance. Their only solution was to add another so much chloirne, I now have had to completely drain the pool because it was so polluted. 2 weeks later and $700 I STILL don't have a working pool. They are TERRIBLE!!! read more

I have used most other pool companies in the area, and Valley has been the best. In response to comments, every pool store has some younger kids working and a few experts. Do you expert all experts? Sir you are under no obligation to buy your chemicals at Valley. Advocate for yourself and stop blaming. Fortunately, these younger kids come back every year, so have a lot of experience. Other companies have taken so much of our money for chemicals that only damaged my lining, set up a cycle of needing a lot of unnecessary treatments, and given out lots of poor advice. If your pool is difficult like ours due to placement, set up, etc., call VS&P. Also, had bad experiences with independent pool contracts in the area. VS&P is prompt, experienced, friendly, and able to trouble shoot. Yes, anyone can do a water test, most come to the wrong conclusion. If you like a specific expert at VS&P bring your sample on their day. I am so glad I don't have to worry anymore. read more

I had a similar experience to others. I had bought a new Hot Springs hot tub at their shop. They are very friendly there and generally courteous, but when I had a problem with my salt cell, they misdiagnosed the issue (I actually had told them so in the first place) and gave me a run-around for 6 months until it was finally clear that my salt cell needed to be replaced. Unless I called them multiple times, they wouldn't call back. Responsiveness is zero. I wasted a lot of money and time on water, chemicals, etc. and "best of all", the warranty on the salt cell had run out. That's a whole different story because the hot tub had only been in use for about 14 months and Valley Pools and Spa left me hanging. Not exactly what I call standing by your product. Overall, a very, very disappointing experience. read more

Am looking around to buy another hot tub. The Hot Springs tub we bought from Valley is now approaching 19-years of age. Still runs, but I would feel better about replacing such an old outdoor unit which sits in the summer sun, then runs its heater all winter, and circulating pump all 24/365. Pumps and electronics have never been a problem, although my panel breaker (on wall of house) needed to be replaced, causing me to wonder about possible shorting. On my third heater, though. Reason for not posting five-stars is the first heater lasted only three-years. Valley replaced it ... price was reasonable. However, that heater (#2) lasted only two-years. Rick's Hot tub service (Great service and a gentleman ... now retired) provided third heater. It has lasted twelve to thirteen-years. Still working. Therefore, I suspect the first two were essentially defective and/or "used" vs "new". Nothing definitive, but worth the mention. read more

They have great customer service and I highly recommend them as they really do care about their customers.
