I've stopped in for brunch a couple times with friends and family and generally enjoy it. I love the ambiance of the establishment and the effort put into the creation of this bakery. I feel like the food is a little over priced and doesn't always have the best overall presentation. The toast was a little burnt making it hard/painful to eat and the sausage and pastry was still cold in the middle after being heated in the oven (but we didn't figure that out until taking a bite.. reheating it would be a health concern ) The restaurant now has menus and places to clear dishes making it easier for guests to keep the cafe clear for future guests. read more

Food (lox toast) was good. Lemon meringue tart was VERY good. Service was good. Ambiance was nice. I would go again for the tart.

We finally were able to visit this morning and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the baked goods! The cinnamon rolls were amazing and the banana bread was even better. The whole place has a ton of character & I think what sold me was that they heat up your food using a brick oven and not a microwave!! I only wish they had a couple of high chairs :) read more

The food was delicious! We walked there from our hotel. The service was so friendly & helpful. My husband had the Front Porch & I had the beer can chicken salad. Portions were big & we had leftovers! The ambience is cute and trendy felt like I was in Austin... Service great. The food was a hit and miss. The Serrano cheddar Kolaches were hard and dried out with greasy sausage. The banana muffin with Nutella was dry and didn't even taste like banana. The cream cheese danish was ok but needed more cream cheese filing. We also ordered a serving of the bacon ranch pasta; it was ok definitely not worth 7 dollars! The only two items that were good was the coffee and the Kouign Anmann pastry. An excellent choice for breakfast or lunch! The genuinely friendly and helpful staff are a welcome sight in this town! Fresh and clean atmosphere to boot! Beautiful pastries of all sorts created by obviously talented pastry professionals. Savory items are very generously portioned and can easily serve two! I'd upgrade the quality of the utensils! I am sick of the tinny forks and knives in this town. Maybe it's a financial decision as so many things in CCTX seem to grow legs and walk off!! Maybe utilize a bus person to keep tables clean and service ware and condiment area in order. Add an ice bucket so staff aren't bothered with refills. Great job in general! read more

First, the Kouign Amann are ridiculously good and have become a personal addiction. We pick up seven of them a week and they are as good the last day as the first. I heat them at 400° for eight minutes and eat with a lump of soft butter. I will continue to do this daily until I can't get out the front door. Then I will search out and join a Kouign Amann Anonymous group. Our other favorite is El Camino next door. Life is too short to miss out on their short rib enchiladas.... But you have to ask for onions! I bring trays of these home, seal-a-meal wrap them, freeze and we have once a week. Also, the beef fajitas and nachos are the best on the planet. We go so often that it has gotten embarrassing and I am going to start wearing a disguise. We went here after wanting to try this joint for awhile. And this is definitely a one and done. When entering the area is a bit small, we had to sit at a dirty table, however the staff were all nice. We ordered a cream cheese kolache and a pain au chocolat. Cost is over priced for what we got. If you look at the pic there is definitely chocolate lacking. After speaking to someone about this joint we found they typically warm these up for others, but not ours even with knowing it was our first time. That would have made a world of difference in taste because the chocolate in the pastry was very hard. read more

Visiting a friend in CC and we stopped here for his 70th birthday lunch. Fabulous Adam and Eve sandwich (we split one bc they are quite large). Next time I think we'll try the Front Porch sandwich. Enjoyed a Front Porch and cafe au lait until... I decided to get a scone to go about ten minutes before closing . Waited at the counter to order an apple chai scone. The employees avoided eye contact as they saran-wrapped the days baked goods . Finally 10 minutes after the 2p hour tell the young lady : "Can i get a scone please " the response with a sigh "uh sir we have been closed for ten minutes but i will go ahead and do it" in a rude fashion . i stayed "well i have. been waiting for a long time". i will never be back here and will make sure tell all my associates my experience . I got the pimento cheese toast and the kouign-amann pastry. Both were delicious. I got the kouign-amann on their recommendation when I asked for something not too sweet. It kind of tasted like a delicious, buttery croissant with powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Also, the drip coffee was surprisingly good. I'll be back! read more

y wife and I stopped by on the recommendation of a friend. The food was good, but what really blew us away was the staff SERVICE!!! Amber Lee greeted us immediately upon walking in and took the time to guide us through the menu even though the restaurant was quite busy. My wife was wearing a New Mexico shirt (where were from) and Amber Lee told us that she's from Albuquerque! Hard to find fellow green chile purists around here.... After helping us choose a sandwich Amber Lee went away and asked Liam to help us, her new friends, at the register. What a GENTLEMAN!!! He was very kind and patient as we struggled to use the damn card reader, were too old for this technology stuff! Our food arrived quickly and WOW!!!!!!!! Never seen a bigger sandwich. Huge portions for ten bucks. Amber Lee smiled and told us that she was happy to bring us doggy bags if we needed them. As we ate I noticed Amber Lee chatting with all of the tables AND serving food!!! Put that girl in the OLYMPICS!!! The restaurant was PACKED... not enough seats for everyone. It looked very stressful, but every time Amber Lee picked up a plate to take it to a table she told the other staff that they were doing an amazing job and she was proud of them. How awesome is that!!!! All do the team was helping each other out and even making jokes while they worked and the line moved FAST!!!! Love this bright spot in downtown Corpus Christi! Beautifully decorated, great ambiance and energetic atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the Front Porch sandwich I ordered, excellent flavor combination! I also recommend the scones. Cranberry orange has always been my favorite, then I tasted the Citrus Rosemary...it is heavenly! Heard a lot of great things about this new spot in town so I wanted to check it out with some friends. We all ended up getting the Front Porch because of a recommendation from a friend and it was super tasty. The ambiance was awesome. It had a very hip vibe that I'm glad to see Corpus is adopting. The service was fine. A lot of tables had plates left on them and we had to ask for water cups because there weren't any next to the water station. Visited on Thursday morning 5/18/23 around 10am. Got pastries and a breakfast to go for a family member. Delicious. Good service. Breakfast item came out a little slow and asked for it to be changed to-go. Food presented in cases is mouth watering. The seating was clean and ready for guests. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Wish my trip would have allowed me to take some loaves home. Hope to visit this business during our next trip to Corpus. Homeless guy outside asked for money before we went inside. The sándwiches lack taste and the presentation is not appealing at all. It took 45 minutes to get 2 sandwiches in a near empty restaurant and although the lady that took our order was nice the fella at the oven looked lost. The oven also looked very inadequate for the restaurant it was burning all the breads that went into it including ours. It actually looked like a toaster oven you would want to replace. The tables were all dirty and we had to ask the lady taking orders to please clean off a table. This made for a very dirty ambiance. Central Kitchen I'd the best bakery in the Coastal Bend. Their scratch made croissants, bread, pastries, and amazing toast menu are always consistent and delicious. They have an inviting atmosphere, wonderful customer service, and delicious deli items like sesame carrots, pimento cheese, and chicken salad.
