I gave Hester's five stars about nine years ago and nothing changes. I got the Ella Fitzgerald breakfast and the flavors just melded perfectly. One of the best places that I have been to in Corpus Christi have been back numerous times outstanding service great food.

Friendly staff this morning for breakfast at 9 AM. My eggs were cooked exactly how I asked. The ricotta cloud cake/pancake appeared to be cooked well as it was browned very nicely on each side however it had raw pancake batter in the middle. They were nice enough to make me a new one and this time it came out a little more brown than the previous, but it was cooked. After years of experience in the kitchen, I would say they're running their griddle too hot to cook the ricotta cake. Ricotta has a tendency to burn in a pancake batter before the rest of the cake will cook. With that said, the cake had very nice flavor to it. The restaurant is also "serve yourself." You order at the counter, pay for your order and get your own coffee. I'm not a fan of this style, I'd prefer to be waited on. Hope these notes help. Enjoy! read more

Was disappointed with this cafe. After reading the reviews i thought it was a good idea and although the food was ok my potatoes although looked good where actually cold. There where four in our party and all our potatoes were cold so sadly just left them. The service would be so much more welcoming if you had a server take your order. You had to go up and order at the cashier and although I know it's a cafe my point is it has potential to be a great cafe. Hester's Cafe is such a cute establishment. It was recommended to us by a friend who lived in Corpus Christi years ago. It's connected to Bleu Frog, a store full of interesting items, home decor, and a little bit of everything. It's definitely family oriented. When we walked in we saw families eating brunch, mom and daughter sharing cheesecake, people working on their laptops, etc. A nice gentleman greeted us as soon as we walked in and let us know to check out the menu, order at the counter, and sit wherever we liked. My daughters shared the "Ella" Fitzgerald, son ordered the Cheesy B.E.A.T., husband ordered the Chinook Scramble, and I ordered the Blue Jack. My husband and I had the mocha latte and Hester's latte on ice since it was a warm day. Everything was delicious. The desserts looked delicious, but we were too full to order more food. I ordered the capano which is a omelette that consist of shrimp, peppers the omlette was so fluffy and I never heard of shrimp in a omelette before so I had to try it and wow it was some of the best I've had. we also had nuts granola with fruit, the fruit was so fresh granola was so nice and crunchy, & we got some coffee and egg nog drinks which was amazing fresh and delicious. all that we had ordered hit the spot! We pretty much shared the restaurant with a large table of friends sharing lots of laughs. We ordered the Duke Ellington, the Louie Armstrong & the Fancy Toast Goat Cheese. Both dishes were fully enjoyed but the surprise favorite was the Fancy Toast. You just can't go wrong with warm goat cheese, fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey.
