"Bakery" the word makes me think of homemade cookies and cakes and breads, aromatic smells of coffee... not this place, though. I literally paid $12 for a microwaveable croissant from H‑E‑B, an Otis Spunkmeyer muffin and maybe a cupcake that was homemade. The place is like a bakery front jammed into grandmas living room, with junk, literally, all over the place.. all the way down to the live birds that sit in a cage behind the counter. Don't waste your money! Tacos are disgusting. Tortillas have been taken straight out the bag and rolled with whatever. They are premade. Not even warm. The bacon and egg had 2 tiny little bacon bits in it and when I bit into it it tasted like a fishy sort of mush. It was disgusting to say the least! While the cinnamon roll was fantastic and the cream cheese danish was well made, the interior needs some help. It appears the fridge went down some time ago and the drinks are scattered across several shelves. There are different chairs and racks of clothing attempting the block the view of the downed units. We were in the area to enjoy some birdwatching and decided on a simple breakfast. upon the recommendation of other people in our party, we tried Rockport Bakery. The bakery itself was kitschy inside with a little bit of seating for people who want to stay. We ordered an array of breakfast tacos, of which the bacon were my favorite and pretty decent, although I was hoping for a little bit better. We also ordered a few baked goods... Some highlights were the excellent cream filled and jelly doughnuts and a cheese danish, which I was told was excellent. We also ordered a Keylime pie for later, which was quite good with its creamy texture and tart sweetness. The person at the counter was very nice and answered any questions we had. Overall, I was very happy with my experience. Next time I'm in town, I will definitely come back for yummy baked goods and a quick, easy breakfast. read more

It has been since Christmas 2016 when last there. The Kolaches tasted delicious. I could not buy enough Christmas 2015 for a growing teenage nephew who graduates from Texas A&M May 2023. This establishment has been a great tradition in my wife's family since the 1950s. I look forward to a future trip. read more

Yikes! Nothing we got tasted fresh. The tacos were held in a warmer, made with store bought tortillas. They had scant hints of bacon or sausage flavor, but were stingy with the meat. The ham croissant sandwich was made with store bought croissants and cheapo luncheon meat, the kolache was thick and doughy in the middle. We ate about half our meal and threw the rest away. The apple fritter here is delicious and one of the best apple fritters you can have! I brought my apple fritter expert (best friend) to try Rockport Bakery's homemade apple fritter and she said it's the best apple fritter she ever had! Her favorite is apple fritter so she knows a lot of apple fritters! First of all the value of the apple fritter and the size is a bang for your buck for one apple fritter. I love the donut holes and glazed donut here! It's pure a bit of heaven. This is a family operated business and they have been in the bakery business for a while. Come and support them! What a lucky find. As a tourist and in town for 4 days, it is difficult to sort out the restaurants. Holiday weekends make it even more challenging. We drove by a few of the other highly recommended bakeries and they were either closed or looked terrible. Then all of a sudden we spotted Rockport Bakery. Horrible experience. I ordered a muffin and some other pastries. I got to the car and realized there was MOLD on the muffin. So I went back in and they lady ARGUED with me saying that it was impossible that there was mold. I opened it up and showed her and she realized there was mold and proceeded to check out the other muffins finding FOUR others with mold. She then offered to exchange it was a donut. A single freaking donut. When we payed probably $4 for a muffin. Horrible service and the baked goods aren't worth it. Save your time and your money and go somewhere else. read more

First time visiting this bakery and I want to tell you that it was horrible. I bought 6 tacos, 4 kolaches, 2 donuts, and a few other pastries. It was 50 bucks! Yikes! Honestly, I won't be going here again. My husband and I were very disappointed by the "tacos" we purchased this past week on our drive back home to San Antonio. I got a bean and cheese taco that was just awful...it looked like it was made at a gas station. The beans were old and crumbly, I didn't see any cheese and my tortilla stood up on it's own because it was so hard. We bought the tacos at 9:30 in the morning...not very late at all. Why would you even sell that to people?! I would rather you lie and tell me you're out of tacos than get a disgusting breakfast just so you can make a buck. July 17, 2020 @ 6:45 a.m.: arrived at this "Bakery" and ordered a bacon and egg breakfast taco. I gave up going to the Jalisco Food Truck in an effort to give my business to someone else. Was I WRONG! First of all the lady at the counter could not understand me that I ordered "ONE" bacon and egg breakfast taco. She repeated back "you want 4 tacos bean and cheese tacos"? After showing her my "ONE" index finger (no pun), Ana repeating the number "One" over and over again, I finally had to step back further than six feet, partially uncovering my mouth, I said "One Bacon and Egg" taco. She repeated "2" Bacon and egg? I continued saying "one" and finally she got it.. she claimed to be hard of hearing but was wearing a hearing aid. $2.44 later and in my truck I tasted the most horrible tasting taco I have ever encountered. It was pre-made and kept in a warmer. The store bought tortilla was wet, and tasted nasty and the egg looked very bad. Please don't buy tacos here! Also as a donut expert their bakery items are fair but there are better places in Rockport. I am considered an "Elite Food Service Critic by YELP! My Other qualifications as an Expert and Experienced Food and Service Critic; I have a BS in Management and have been trained in two Culinary Schools, to include on the job training at other venues. I've managed full service as well as fast food restaurants and have had my own successful Catering business. As a Culinary Trainer, I have trained personnel on how to provide superb cuisine and expert customer service. Very friendly service. Flavorful donuts! Stopped her for breakfast late Saturday morning. After heading to Rockport Beach for a few hours, I had the munchies! They still had a ham and cheese croissant among their breakfast items so I took that and a lemon donut. Both of which were VERY good! The guy who tended to me was very sweet and told me what their best sellers were. Even showed me that they had breakfast tacos and sandwiches for lunch. Admittedly, I am a little biased! We have had property in Fulton for 150 years and so I've been coming to Rockport since I was a kid. And each time I'd go, we'd have to have the Rockport Bakery, not just 'cause it was the BEST DONUTS IN TEXAS...but because my (distant) family also owned it for a time! :-) That family connection is long gone, but god help me, I go to Rockport annually and within 24 hours of arrival -- I NEED MY ROCKPORT BAKERY fix! Why mess with a good thing? If you're here -- you need the Glazed Donuts and you need the Glazed Chocolate Donuts. They're a meal in themselves; all kinds of sugary awesomeness. But eat them quickly, the next day they'll be rock hard. Don't wait, enjoy your goodness now. Not up for sugary goodness? They also have in the early AM breakfast burritoes made there on spot, Eggs & Bacon, Eggs & Sausage...Eggs & ham...even beans & cheese I believe!
