I spent 20 minutes wandering the lot and then went into service to check on any recalls on my 2017 Explorer. I then went into the showroom where there was numerous sales people talking to one another and very few customers. After 10-15 minutes I then wandered back outside to look at more inventory. Not once in the entire time I was there did any individual say good morning or can I help you. Mark (the owner) took it upon himself to check all the brakes which he was NOT asked to do. He raised his voice at myself and my mother stating he wasn't going to argue with us. He claimed differential was fine and flip flopped on his story about there being a crunching noise, which there isn't nor did my brother tell anyone that there was. He lied several times to justify why the inspection of the brakes were done. He told my brother he didn't look at the differential but told us he did. He told me I was a piece of work for questioning him. Curious how many people he treats like this. Very rude, condescending and likes to try to intimidate women. I recorded the conversation after he started raising his voice. Then I was told I was rude. Zero stars, do Not recommend!!

Unprofessional, rude, and just simply lazy is the best way to describe the team at CARSTAR. It is…read moreone thing to have a bad day at work or to make a mistake, but at some point it just becomes pure ignorance and unprofessionalism. I waited over 3 weeks for my insurance company to let me know if my car was going to be a write off or not only to find out that CARSTAR went ahead with the work without the approval of my insurance company, stating that there was "a glitch in the system" therefore miscommunication happened and they thought they "got the green light" when they hadn't. I let that slide, thinking that if the work was done well, then there wouldn't be an issue. When I went to pick up my car over a month after the accident, all my lights were on still and I went back in and told the staff. They immediately hooked up my car and found out the wires were sliced which they would have already known if they had completed the work properly in the first place, not to mention that the reason why it took even a few days longer was because they said they were completing the computer work and detailing my car (the detailing is a whole other story). Then to make things worse, to fix the problem for the time being, they cauterized the wires and put tape on it and told me it was driveable. Then when I went to pick up my vehicle I asked for all paperwork and found out that it was almost $6000 more work done to it and it still wasn't finished. When I asked why they wouldn't have wrote it off they all shrugged and had no idea. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe this entire situation! After putting pieces together, my insurance company wasn't going to write off the vehicle after Andrew and his team at CARSTAR started the work without the approval because too much money was already put into it. My insurance company also directly told me that certain stuff that was repaired should have never been repaired because they didn't approve it. It has been almost three months and every time I get in my vehicle, there's something wrong. Also when sitting in the waiting room at CARSTAR, Andrew and his colleague both laughed and joked about other customers in front of myself and another woman stating "customers are always right" as they rolled their eyes and said "we do a lot of smiling and pretending". If anyone has to bring their vehicle somewhere for repair, I 100% DO NOT recommend Tom Smith Chevrolet and CARSTAR in Midland.
