I recommend the carne asada burrito but everything is is good here!
    Lynn U.

I would like to try other meats but I love the flavor of their carne asada so much I can't bring myself to order anything else. That being said. Today I ordered a meat quesadilla. I wish they used the giant tortilla it was good for a kids meal. But my kid ordered the nachos supreme and it was too much food for them so I guess it worked out. I've never been anywhere else that makes their quesadilla with the soft taco size tortillas. It's fine I'm not mad I just wish I knew up front. I'm just going to put it out there I'd rather go to Tacos de Acupulco or Efren's for the amount of food I received. But they do have the tastiest asada. So I can't complain too much. Just a note when you order certain foods here, your food might need to be heated up and it's done so in a styrofoam takeout box in the microwave. They do wear masks and gloves and they're are plexiglass barriers. A few tables and chairs to eat at inside but I didn't see anyone sanitizing them. So ‍ if after that you still wanna eat from here, take it to go?

Please try to avoid this store!! They are so rude. I drove 1 hour to come to this store to try check it out. My husband was waiting for me in the car. Not even 5 minutes the owner and his son put a towing notice on my car. We tried to talk to them. But They have an attitude problem, used a bunch of bad words to us. They said that they were going to call the towing company because my husband didn't go in the store with me. Even tho I was shopping in there with my daughters. I wasn't in the store more than 10 minutes. Don't EVER go here.

Carnitas, chicken, carne asada, and Chile Verde tacos

We shop at Central Market regularly for small grocery items, but this is the first time we stopped in to have a bite to eat. We walked to the back of the market where they serve their food and ordered four tacos: chicken, asada, carnitas, and chile verde. I believe they were priced at around $1.99/taco and tasted great. I'd recommend them to people driving through Oceano on Highway 1

Lots of great reviews got my hopes up. Sadly it didn't live up to its hype. What was good: Bean and cheese burrito excellent., very tasty Rice excellent. Fluffy and flavorful What didn't work; Ordered al pastor taco. It wasn't in my bag The most dry tasteless tamale I have ever had. Small, no sauce and probably no meat No salsa. Only gave me one tiny cup of salsa from jar. Am I going back? No. Too bad. The pics looked delicious.

    Carnitas Tostada

Try the Mexican Food restaurant inside the store. It's amazing! We come here for the hot food as often as we are in town. I always order their carnitas tostada. Their carnitas is fabulous in everything. And they sell it by the pound. They start the tostada by putting refried beans on a bottom shell, then top that with a new shell, add more refried beans, carnitas, then lettuce, tomato, crumbled Mexican cheese, and then finish with drizzled sour cream. The lady who prepares the food creates a piece of art with everything she makes. She places each ingredient delicately and deliberately on the food. What comes out is pure taste bud heaven! A carnitas tostada runs 3.99! Cheap! It's a meal by itself. I also love their $1.39 fresh pork tamales. Their green salsa is not that spicy and so, so good. There are about 3 tables inside you can sit and enjoy your meal. They have awesome breakfast burritos too. Open til 6pm.

We were at a wine pick up in the village and walked by this butcher store. They had wild boar but ground. I asked about wild boar meat for a goulash/stew. I was expecting a response such as we can keep wild boar for you and not grind it for you because most customers like it ground. I also asked about venison. I explained that I have an online source but prefer to buy local. Rather than telling me they could obtain both for us on special order, we were just dismissed. We pay an enormous amount of money for expedited shipping from Texas. And the meat is not cheap. It's just bad business practice not to cater to local patrons when you have access to "exotic meats".

I learned to check the website for current availability and prices before getting too excited about a particular cut or item, as they sell out of some items very quickly. Also, to avoid any sticker shock of higher-priced meats (well worth the cost if in your budget, IMO). I love the scenic drive alongside the morros and the olive trees out front (off the main campus)--plenty of parking. Friendly students greet you and are there to answer questions. There is usually an assortment of items on the front table (such as any produce in stock, flowers, etc), then make a right into the cooler room, where you'll find the refrigerated and frozen meats, cheeses, and eggs, as well as jams, chocolate bars, and some cute merch. They have little shopping baskets to carry your haul. We have really enjoyed their frozen chicken wings, all the steaks, the pork chops and loin, sausages, and ohhhh, the bacon (plain, flavored, and ends). On a trip in late April, the eggs were $5.75/dozen, which I thought was a good price for the bounty of happy hens and quality, fresh eggs. Meat prices vary and are mostly priced by the pound. On this trip, the fresh top sirloin was $13/pound and a gorgeous cut with just the right amount of marbling. Fresh pork loin chops were $7.00/pound, with a small fat cap. The tri-tip is usually a little higher than Ralph's but there is a difference that may make it worthwhile if it fits in your budget. Sometimes the frozen items of the same meat are a little less per pound than the fresh. The Swiss sausages were $10.50 and Bratwurst were $10 per pound (four sausages per pound). We also love their real beef snack sticks ($8, and no weird ingredients). I also indulged in the beautiful flower bouquet, $16 -- which are still as fresh as can be four days after purchase. They also have a rewards program, so you can get a "VIP discount" of 15% after three visits, among other rewards. Look for sales of items on their website (for example, last weekend the chicken wings were 10% off). Yay, go Mustangs! We've been trying to buy from local farms, and this is a great option for SLO County.

On every visit, we were pleasantly greeted by students working there and found a great selection of products.
