I came into Central Nails today for a men's manicure and had a really good experience overall. Suzie took care of me and she was friendly, easy to talk to, and made the whole appointment comfortable. The conversation was great and the service was solid. I'm giving 4.5 stars instead of 5 only because I did get nicked on each hand during the cuticle work, and it didn't seem like the product that instantly stops bleeding was available at the time. That said, Susan noticed right away, apologized, and handled it professionally. It didn't ruin the experience for me. I would still recommend Central Nails and I'd go back again. This will be the last time i go to Central Nails after going there for about 2 years. The guy with the really long finger nails kept stabbing me with his nails while doing them. No consideration about how long his nails are and how rough he was handling my fingers. Super uncomfortable. He didnt even clean up my cuticles or any area around my nails he went straight into cutting my nails. I still feel "dirty" because my nails were cleaned up, cuticles werent pushed back or cut. I had mentioned to the same guy with the long fingers nails that I wanted to grow out my natural nails and to shape them. He told me on my next appointment that he can do that. Come my next appointment i ask him to shape my natural nails AND HE CUTS THEM DOWN TO THE SKIN!! i told him "what??!? you said i can do that and you would do it why did u cut my nails" he said " No, it wasnt me " Bull shit. after being stabbed by his long finger nails that upset me. THEN, i showed him a picture of what I wanted and he begins to argue with me and respond with irrability and rudness about what i wanted. He was trying to give me white polish french tip when i asked for pink polish french tip. That is when the argument began. When he got up to grab the pink polish he was arguing with me and saying stuff under his breathe. So unprofessional and upsetting. After that I can tell he was rushing to do my nails. I told him "can you take you time please, this is my birthday set". I did not like how my french tip came out. I asked him to redo it over and over and it still came out not to my liking. I mean look at that angle on the french tip. No one should go to a salon for a self care day ( for their birthday at that) and get treated like that Then i went to check out he was not wanting to give me my 10% birthday discount. He said that i didnt get a "full service" like whattttttt That made me so mad. Thankfully suzie was able to help me out. I have been here a few times. I asked the nail tech to cut the ingrown toenail and she said I would have to pay for the higher package. The basic pedicure is just basic, just clean up she said. The last Salon didn't charge extra for this. I guess I will be going back to my previous nail salon. Also, bring earbuds or headphones in case Karaoke hell is going on. So very much disappointed in our experience today. I've been coming here off and on for 5 years or more. The quality of the work was nothing short of 50%. My mother had a polish change that the person didn't even get all the old polish off of her nail before applying. They charged $20.00 for nail polish change for nails and $20 for toenails. I brought my 9 year old daughter to "get pampered "with a polish change that was also $40 for fingers and toes. Sooo very much disappointed. This place used to be great service and great product. The nail sample card colors do not match the actual polish at all, it's a completely different color than what's in the bottle, and then they try to tell you it will change in the sun ... they also don't even get close to the edges of your nails, it looks like it's been grown out for a week. Walked in here Sunday to get my nail fixed since it broke. They had just opened and there may have been 2 clients being serviced and another waiting but several techs. Instead of saying it would be 30 minutes... heck even an hour, she yells across the salon that they aren't sure when they could get to me today. 1 nail that's broken may take 10 mins to replace. But instead of even giving a time or acting like they wanted to help, she rudely yells that and walks away. I get it isn't a full set which obviously is more but they should at least stand by their work. Ended up walking over to AK nails and they were so kind and helpful. It's appreciated, but you will want to curb negligence by keeping abreast of good technique. You are a spa after all, and people come to beautify themselves, and burns leave marks that cause issues of self esteem and anxiety. Depression. Now I have a scar on my lid that people may assume is domestic violence related, or related to some other physical altercation, which can cost me opportunity, and that is something an appreciated "I'm sorry," cannot actually fix. This place is pretty good, but I would only go here again in a pinch. When we came in they told us 30 minutes for a pedicure. We told them we both wanted manicure and pedicure. Okay, no problem. Since they're located in a shopping plaza, we went walking around and came back. We ended up waiting another 20 minutes for our pedicures - and once those were done, they said it would a quite the wait until we were able to get our manicures done. This is really frustrating. We were more than happy to make an appointment but they don't do that. To wash it over, we were offered "CHEAP WINE!" - they kept exclaiming, as they gave us a splash in a styrofoam cup. Thanks to COVID, it's been a year since I've had a pedicure! Yikes! I scheduled an appointment at Central Nails to get my feet ready for the summer. My experience was OK - the pedicure was average. Despite paying for one of the upgraded packages, it was not very luxurious. I enjoyed the paraffin wax but really needed a longer massage! Now I know the governor said the pandemic is over and we can do whatever we want, but I believe in science so I'm playing it safe. I want to support businesses that are acting responsible and unfortunately Central Nails is not one of them. They have a sign that says masks required, but it's not enforced and the employees are not leading by example. Four of the six technicians working were wearing masks, but only two of the four were wearing them correctly (hello, please cover your nose and mouth!). Out of seven customers, only two had masks on. I probably won't return until COVID is truly over because I'm not comfortable with the mask policy here. read more

I have never been to a salon where they charge 21 dollars for gel, 15 dollars at the most! I told them no. I asked for French tip. I told them which package I wanted. NOT ONCE was I told there would be an extra charge for the french tip. The lady cashed me out and asked the male who did my toes about the charge, he then says 6 dollars. I tried SNS for the first time. I've heard of it so many times, I was interested in but I always had gel manicure with designs. Staff and the owner insisted I tried the dip so I did. Three weeks later, my SNS is still intact, no broken nails, I am pleased with the result. Ambiance here is either you like it or just okay. Very down to earth, the owner likes to sing karaoke. She is cheerful and fun. When I walked in, some staff were eating lunch, I think the smell there when I walked in is personal preference. Not something I expected from a nail salon. I went in for an full acrylic set which was priced $45, I went with John who was very nice. However the outcome and quality of my nails is lacking. I had to kind of argue to get him to do coffin nails and I told him I work in a school so I'd like them shorter. He also kind of argued with me about that and I have anxiety so I just compromised. This is how my nails turned out. They're crooked, uneven, lumpy and not even completely painted. The polish and acrylic are both under my nails. He over filed my right ring finger so it has a weird dent in it. The photos speak for themselves. I also wasn't asked to wash my hands like I saw everyone else doing, he just put cuticle oil on the ashy dust and rubbed it into my fingers. I'm very sad that they turned out this way especially because 1 - My friends nails turned out amazing!! 2 - John was really nice and kind. I don't think he did a bad job on purpose. When we went to check out I was given a slip to take to the register that said $50 on it, and the person who did my friends nails charged her $65 on her slip. Somehow between walking from the nail desk to the register my nails went up to $60. This was irritating. The slip I was given in the beginning said $45 for full acrylic set. Which is what we both got. Nothing special or different. The vibe was very nice inside and the workers were kind which just sucks because the quality I received was not it. I called after I left and my friend & my boyfriend reassured me that they looked bad. The owner offered for me to come back in but obviously that would be awkward and I don't live close so she said she would give me a refund and delete the transaction. Very impressed with how clean the salon was, they had many polish options and the ladies were very nice. I even got a great show, loved the surprise karaoke! I really enjoyed my pedicure, however my manicure was okay. I know I showed up an hour before closing time, but I felt like I got a mediocre hand massage and the lady doing my mani was in a bit of a hurry to check out. I had two people provide me service. My first time was $55 for gel tips (don't know the lady but she did an incredible job) second time was a fill with gel. $45 charge from a nice guy. Third time all of my nails just needed to be replaced which happened but was $60 with no soaking just getting my nails taken off manually which I did not mind but not sure why this time was the most expensive when it was the most rushed.
