I will surely miss her and this oh so convenient branch. It's always nice and clean inside, everyone is always so very pleasant and they even still give out the little suckers to the young'ns! Definitely bank here; and what's more: the ATMs inside of QuikTrip are mostly all UMB ATMs. That's a plus.

I've never bounced a check and there was plenty of money in Commerce Bank to cover the $400.00 worth of checks. What I learned was: Commerce Bank did not transfer the money from an investment account to my checking as agreed upon when opened these accounts. My creditors billed me charges for the returned checks. Commerce agreed to pay those fees but I had to get proof of the charges, etc. A big hassle but I did it and Commerce reimbursed me. Today, I went in to cash a check and withdraw a sizeable amount of money from my account. They teller said they didn't have that amount of money in the bank and would have to order it. I said, it was not a problem for the money to be given in a check. She advised to do that the charge would be $5.00. WHAT? Commerce Bank is going to charge me to withdraw money from my account in the form of a piece of paper? WHAT? I have NEVER paid a bank to give me my money and I never will. Especially a bank that pays me so little interest while using my money to operate their bank. Next, the supervisor of tellers comes to talk with me. He says, Okay, this ONE TIME, I will waive the fee. Are you kidding me? Really? I am your customer and you are using my money and now you're going to "do me a favor by not charging me to withdraw my money?" What turnip truck do you think I fell off of? With that I said, here's what I want to do, close my accounts...all of them, give me a check for the full amount and do not deduct $5.00 from the amount. He agreed to do that and asked, "Have we done something wrong?" Yes, you've made me fell like I crawled in this place under the floor tile. You are not doing me a favor to be my bank. I am your customer. I hope it was worth it to lose my accounts over bouncing my checks with tens of thousands of dollars of my money in your bank and now a $5.00 nonsense charge to give me a check for me to make a withdrawal. There are other banks in this city that WANT MY BUSINESS AND MY MONEY!!!! Here's my impression of Commerce Bank and their advertising campaign: ASK=Before you open an account with us ask us about all the ways we plan to take your money with fees that we establish AFTER you open the accounts. ASK how many excuses we have for why we make mistakes...Our tellers don't always know what they are doing. We must have forgotten to set up the auto transfer and you must prove the bounced checks had charges billed to you. For sure ASK exactly how much effort they will expend to make you stop doing business with them! LISTEN=With both ears hear me tell you that as a customer I think you are a moron. We want you to listen while we make excuses for poor service and insult you with the "today and today only" we will waive a charge you were never aware of! SOLVE=My problems with Commerce Bank were solved when I took my money on down the road to The Bank of Blue Valley. No their locations aren't as convenient but they are open for business 7 days a week. Jody at the Bank of Blue Valley happily accepted my money. As I was leaving he told me it was good to see me again and offered me a cold bottle of water and thanked me again for my business. Now, THAT is customer service!

At my previous bank they would just decline charges and I would get a notification so I could move funds to the appropriate account. Here they will let charges through and charge you an overdraft fee. If you enroll in the overdraft protection it comes from your savings account. However, if you don't have money in your savings account and a request is made your savings account is then hit with a fee. The staff are incompetent both in person and at the call center. You can tell them the issue and all the things you've tried to correct the issue only for them to suggest solutions you've just told them you've already tried and were unsuccessful. If you point out that you've already tried that and was unsuccessful and that you would like a different solution you're told you'll be put in touch with a manager. After holding an automated message tells you there's not anyone to take your call and hangs up. It does not leave you the option to leave a message for call back, it just hangs up on you. Not only is that unhelpful it's also enraging when you're already having a customer service issue. Dealing with main Street credit Union is painful to their point of agony.

What I really wanted to know was something much simpler: whether your online system can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop, and if so, how easily. I wasn't asking about a specific account just the general process and whether it was possible. I work with small businesses to help them start, grow, or even close, and part of that is making sure their financial tools actually work for them. One thing I can say with certainty is that Wells Fargo is not a credit card I'll be recommending after this. Again, your phone rep was very nice, but the QuickBooks team apparently isn't allowed to speak to anyone who doesn't already have an account. And that includes me, a former FHA refi specialist for a few years. Her communication with us was exemplary. She provided her cell phone number and said we could call her at any time. If we called her, she almost always answered or returned our call in a very short period of time. We always received quick, same-day responses by email or text message. Amanda Park exudes professionalism. She explained everything very well, on the phone and in emails. She provided quick, succinct, and factual answers to our questions. At the same time, she was very polite and friendly. The loan portal provided by Central Trust Bank was good, very easy to use. The expenses and fees in acquiring our mortgage were very attractive, lower than any other institution. We checked reviews on all of the lenders we considered. Recurring negatives that were spotted in many lenders' reviews were the tardiness of the loan closing and the lack of communication from the lender. We experienced neither of those issues as the loan closed exactly as promised and Amanda's continuous communication was outstanding.
