Just a couple of things that I was a little disappointed in. There was a lot of old caulking from the previous walls which was hard to remove. When Jim put the new caulk in for the new walls it mixed in with the old caulking so I cant get rid of it all. Also the plumber was supposed to look at the drain to make sure everything was working properly, Jim forgot to remind him and told me he called him but I have not heard from him

We were excited by the designs offered, but a little taken back by the price. Jim and his Berkshire Bathworks crew were contacted and promptly arrived to assess our needs and give us a price. The price was competitive with the national chains. It was NOT a one day installation, but Jim was very forthcoming about the actual time frame for completion. Every question and concern we had was addressed. The time frame was off by a couple of weeks due to the special order of the glass shower enclosure. [It arrived with the installation holes on the wrong end of the glass, hey, it happens. The last time I made a mistake was 1957] Jim went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. The job is beautiful and a complete makeover. We are very happy with the outcome. One last thought, my wife fell and broke her hip two weeks ago. I called Jim on Tuesday, 01/01/19, about installing a grab bar in both bathrooms. He was here this morning, 01/03/19, and installed two new grab bars and would not take any compensation. He is a gentleman and a meticulous worker. I cannot recommend Berkshire Bathworks more highly. They are the best.

The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. Kitchen and Bath World has our highest recommendation.

I put out a Yelp request to get estimates on some work for my home. As Yelp does, it contacted…read moremultiple companies. Mr. Rooter was the first to call me, and schedule for an estimate. I mentioned that we are selling the house and we were looking to repair an issue with the water pressure for the new owners. The plumber that came by called me and told me his recommendations. Two days later, I received an estimate for much more than what was recommended on the phone, and an invoice for the estimate itself. I responded questioning that estimate charge, because it wasn't mentioned in advance, and why there was work on the estimate that we were told we wouldn't need. The woman that responded was nice with her explanations, but it still doesn't sit right with me to charge for an estimate, or to not say that ahead of time. A week later, she called to follow up, and I told her because it was a Yelp thing, someone else was taking a look for us and I would be in touch if we wanted to continue with them; or I would pay the invoice for the estimate online. The other company that came told us everything Mr. Rooter had added to their estimate was not needed. If those things were a problem, we would have no water. So it would have been a waste of money. Two weeks later, after not reaching out to me again to follow up, she called my realtor and threatened to put a lien on our house, and interfere with the sale, if we don't pay the $200 estimate fee! That is extremely unprofessional! and $200 is very high, considering it cost your company nothing in parts, etc, and your employee was only at my home for 16 minutes. I am far from happy with my experience. Tyler, their plumber, was great! He seemed to know exactly what it was talking about, he was very nice on the phone and professional. But their office is a disaster and the customer service is a 1/10. To respond.. I never spoke tot Tyler over the phone regarding the bill, nor was I ever rude to him in any manner. I was never told in advance about any fees for estimates, so I would love to hear the recorded call you claim you have. I also responded to the email with the invoice for the estimate that I was unaware of a charge for it, and the response I received was "yes, that was our failure to communicate." I also did not say I would be using the estimate in negotiations for my sale, so it was not a "real estate estimate." It was a homeowner trying to get work done on their home. And the work is the home needs IS being done, by someone else. You are simply unhappy that I got multiple estimates done, and chose someone else, which I have every right to do, whether I am selling the home or not. Good luck to you and your corporate business.

We live on hard pan/gravel and wanted at least our backyard to be lovely. After letting 4 other contractors come and tell us what they thought well we just shook our heads. In comes Shane with exactly what we learned. We didn't tell Shane anything except what we told all the others.....we want a very nice lawn. Note all this research was double checked by a landscaping man that I have dealt with for over 30 years (and still dealing with). Our landscaping man doesn't install turf/seed just sells product. Shane has the knowledge and all the right equipment to give you a beautiful lawn. Please note the right equipment is needed. Scratching our earth or a couple inches of top soil would of been a huge waste of time and money. We would of fighting year after year with a ton of fertilizer and a ton of water which we don't have (we are on a well). Shane tilled the earth with a Harley rake on steroids, had a finshing machine and a slice seeder. Big plus all the other contractors had one type of seed blend. Not Shane. I wanted more of a fescue blend due to our conditions. Only man I found that knows his business and wants to give his customer exactly what they need. Even a bigger plus his pricing is very competitive. For those of you who have dealt with contractors this man actually shows up, answers your questions....responds by phone and to emails.

Spaces in my flooring. The trim for the floor in the corners is about 3/4 inch spaces they were going to fill with caulk. The wood doesn't even go together. When I brought this to Allen's attention he got nasty saying I was "hovering" and they rushed. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Apparently I didn't "hover" enough or these things wouldn't have happened. And they were the ones that rushed to pick up their kids. When I hired him he was supposed to work 8:00-4:00, not one day did they work those hours. My new contractor has to rip apart flooring, trim and I have to patch and paint more than I wanted to. They used a crow bar to remove the old trim and left large marks in my walls. He did offer to fix this I did not want him in my house anymore. I've got pictures of all this I will post on another website.

Then he submitted a quote and put us into his schedule. We were willing to wait a couple of months to start, and during that time we finalized a lot of details. He was extremely patient with us, especially since some of our stylistic choices required obtaining parts at the last minute. When things were out of stock, he recommended good replacements and helped us with acquiring them. Even last minute suggestions or changes were incorporated into the work.
