Dr. Sirounian is amazing in so many ways. After suffering for close to 7 years with Blepharitis & Ocular Neuropathy, I came upon Dr. Sirounian. I had already seen 3 Cornea Specialists, but to no avail. The thought of seeing another doctor just left me with such high anxiety & depression. I am pleased to write this review for Dr. Sirounian whom I saw today. She could have easily taken my money and my insurance company's money, however, she instead took the time to teach me how to use the progressive glasses I already had. I was not trained on how to use them and literally thought they were the incorrect prescription. Turns out, my prior doctor simply didn't explain the lenses to me properly or show me how use them. I'm grateful Dr. Sirounian was honest and patient with me and I will be a patient if necessary in the future. Oh! LIPIFLOW is MAGICAL! I took my mother, who suffers with extreme dry eyes to see Dr. Sirounian early March- my moms eyes were very irritated, red, light sensitive and a host of other issues. After the doctor examined and explained how dry eyes work we decided the LIPIFLOW procedure was a good option for her...the same day! The treatment was 12 mins and didn't irritate my moms eyes. Instead she felt relief almost immediately! Once returning home her eyes continued to only improve! The next day she was so happy to be able to see more clearly and had much less irritation. It has now been 3 weeks and my mom is doing sooooo much better! Her eyes are clear, she knows how to properly clean and exercise her dry eyes and is in better spirits overall! I would pay for this again and again if it meant my mom could see and be comfortable. Highly recommend. Oh and Dr. Sirounian was very pleasant and educated on the topic of dry eyes. One of the rudest health care professionals I've ever met. Was condescending when going over the financing for the lipiflow treatment. She couldn't even remember my name when talking to me over the phone about getting these prescription eye drops and the tone of her voice was completely careless. I also paid for a night eye mask to help with dryness that she never even bothered shipping to me! Dr Sirounian wasn't friendly. I didn't know who she was until I asked her when she asked me to fill out the patient form. She was wearing a scarf around her mouth , not a proper mask. She didn't explain the lipiflow procedure so when she started to place the device on my eyeballs I was very anxious . It started heating up my eyeballs and I felt really stressed . She wasn't in the room with me . She left to deal with another customer in the front while I stayed in the small room. I was surprised because anything could have gone wrong . She then sold me the Zeina glasses convincing me that all her patients buy after a lipiflow treatment . I was so desperate to treat my disorder that I bought them . I emailed her for a follow up appointment but she never responded . The follow up treatment was part of the cost . Since that awful experience I've been to a reputable opthamologist and will never go back to her . But I do find it dangerous that she wasn't present during the lipiflow treatment . read more

I flew down from San Jose to get Lipiflow treatment because even with the plane ticket, Sona was charging less than what the practices in the Bay Area were charging. I don't even know where to begin! I had such a great first time experience here. The last time I got my prescription was about 5 years ago at a massive optometry chain. Dr. Sona Sirounian was very gentle, pleasant, and caring. She is THE MOST attentive doctor I have ever had the opportunity to meet. I am so grateful for Dr. Sona. She took 2 hours to explain and educate me on the four important regimens to do following this procedure. I have multiple health issues; Fibro, Thyroid, Arthritis, and am in Menopause and am 55. Oh and I work 100% of the time on the computer for work. All these factors come into play when being diagnosed with Chronic Dry Eyes. I did the Lipiflow while at my appointment this past Saturday after an education in eye hygiene. I work at a Major Trauma /Medical Center for Physician's and I know what to look for when choosing a physician that will be beneficial in assisting me with my many health issues. She was very honest about the Lipiflow treatment and what to expect. I know it took several years to get to the point of this nasty disease's stage. So, I know it will take months to feel the true effects of this procedure and it is not a quick fix. But with that said, I am placing my faith into her hands to assist me in my journey of this eye issue. I do know that I have to be very diligent in the process too and make sure to do as she has prescribed and make sure I complete the 4 steps daily she has taught me. If not, just like with anything else that one who spends $$ on procedures that it will only will do so much to help. It's up to the patient to make sure to make the healthy changes to achieve the best outcome. I have my next appointment in a month and hope to be better by then. To be honest, since it has only been 2 days since the procedure, I am struggling with the dry eye but as I mentioned I have to be patient and stay strong during this transition. I hope this review helps others who are contemplating this procedure. I am one who does research prior to making a decision on anything. This is actually my first Yelp review ever. I was compelled to write one because Dr. Sona is one of the best, most compassionate eye care professionals I've met. I've suffered from severe dry eyes/blepharitis for about nine years now, since my early twenties; as a young adult, it's been quite a challenge. I've been under Dr. Sona's care for about a year and a half, undergoing Lipiflow treatment every six months and maintaining a daily at-home regimen. Because of the severity of my symptoms, the progress has been slow, but it's definitely there. My inflammation and discomfort have noticeably improved. Dr. Sona truly cares about treating the root of the problem, not just managing the symptoms. I saw countless doctors prior to finding Dr. Sona, and not one of them was able to help me to this degree. I also have other issues that prevent me from wearing regular contact lenses. She was kind enough to contact a specialist on my behalf, explaining my situation very thoroughly. I have been wearing contact lenses for more than half of my life. About a year ago, I started having problems with my contact lenses and went to see a few ophthalmologist and optometrists. But for some unknown reasons, they had difficulty with finding the right fit. It was rather strange that no one could get the right contact lens Rx for my eyes! It was my actual first time I've gotten an eye exam. When I first walked into the office I was greeted with such a warm welcome it put my mind at ease. The office was welcoming and very well decorated. I've been struggling with my eyes recently; I'm on the computer most of the day and I've noticed my vision isn't as great as it was before.
