I've been dealing with extremely painful dry eyes and blepharitis for the last 15+ years. She spent a great deal of time examining my condition and clearly explained the steps needed to address it. For my condition of dry eyes, I underwent a relatively new and simple treatment called Lipiflow (heat and pulses applied to the eyelids to stimulate the eye's production of oil which lubricates the eyes; thus, no more dry eyes). It's been about a year since Dr. Sirounian performed the treatment and by following her daily blinking exercises, I no longer have dry eyes. Dr. Sona helped my father retain his vision! When he went to her for a check up, she immediately told him that he needs to see a retina specialist ASAP, which he did the same day, and the specialist, in turn, had urged my dad to get an emergency operation on his eye. Two days later the surgery was performed, and thankfully went well, and we are all very grateful to Dr. Sona, who was able to identify a much more serious issue than what my dad went in for originally, and to recommend the appropriate course of action. My fiancee has been suffering from chronic dry eyes, head aches, and eye pain for over 8 years, we've been to optometrist, ophthalmologists, ENT doctors, skin doctors, neurologists, we've been to almost any specialist out there, near and far. She's tried eye drops, eye lubricants, probing, home remedies, and none have helped. We almost lost hope until we found Dr. Sirounian. She agreed to meet with us on a Saturday morning for a consultation. Let's just say this was the only doctor visit we've been to where the doctor didn't make my fiancee cry by giving her the same crap that every other doctor had told her. She told us about Lipiflow, a procedure where your eye lids are heated, then massaged so the oil in your oil glands can melt and push out. With healthy and plenty oil, the water in the eyes can stay on the eyes for a longer period of time. At first we were hesitant to try something new but she listened and sympathized and made us feel comfortable. This wasn't one of those offices where you wait an hour outside, come in for a 5 minute talk, then walk out with hefty bill. We were there for a very long time, but we were not waiting on her. My fiancee was being treated the minute we stepped into the office. She shared stories of other patients with similar and worse situations. We didn't feel rushed and within the first hour, we felt like we knew her for a long time. We finally decided to do Lipiflow and I have to tell you, it's no miracle drug, but it did help my fiancee a lot. But Lipiflow is not the reason for this good review. Dr. Sirounian is a passionate, loving, carrying doctor like no doctor I have ever seen in any type of practice here in America. She doesn't just do the procedure and let you go, she gave us a regiment to follow to keep the eyes healthy. She checks in on my fiancee and she is always available and accessible to her. The cure to a chronic conditions isn't a procedure or a drug, but a doctor who can be there for you, when you need help, Dr. Sirounian is that doctor. I suffer from dry eyes and had nowhere else to turn after trying medicated eye drops, warm compresses, fish oil, etc. I did the lipiflow about a month ago with Dr. Sirounian. We originally came to Dr. Sirounian for an eye exam and glasses for our young teen daughter. who doesn't like just anyone, and she really likes Dr. Sirounian. She's very patient, funny, and really listens. Perfect for kids and older people who need a little more patience. I had my annual exam with Dr. Sirounian today for the first time and the experience was great. I was able to walk in and be seen in a timely manner. She was concise in her examination and described her findings and management in an efficient and comprehensible way. I was in and out in a matter of 35 minutes, she fitted me with a new pair of contact lenses free of charge and gave me several options of various types of lenses to try if I wished, which was a first in all the years that I have been seeing an optometrist. Dr. Sirounian really knows her way around the issue of dry eye syndrome. She spent a lot of time with me, explaining the ins and outs of dry eyes, the real story of how long it takes to start to see results, and her price for Lipiflow was reasonable, compared to others. I'm not sure whether Lipiflow actually helped me all that much (although I think this is an individual thing), I think the reason I'm beginning to feel improvement is because I've been following Dr. Sirounian's eye hygiene recommendations for getting to the bottom of the problem. My follow up visit was at no charge, and she is definitely not one of those doctors whose only concern in what's in your wallet! She's very generous and gracious. What a nice surprise. Dr. Sirounian is the absolute best. She is actually a dry eye specialist and has a great relationship with one of the top Lasik surgeons in LA. I came to her for glasses and contacts. I was very nervous about contacts because a previous negligent optometrist scratched my cornea when he put my contacts in. She taught me how to do it myself in office and I had no problems with my trial pair of contacts. I also have an astigmatism and a squinting problem, and she put so much time into making sure my prescription was as accurate as possible. I saw this Dr. after a friend in Texas told me about Lipiflow. Dr. S. recommended a cleaning product for my dry eye that she has in her office , which I really like. The product is much gentler than using baby shampoo. In addition, I did have the Lipiflow procedure done and it did help. I still have dry eye but there is quite an improvement. Ever since High School I suffered with poor vision. I had gone to other optometrists and was checked to get prescription glasses before; however, none of the Doctors bothered to explain what is going on and whats the best solution. When I called for appointment I was given given apparently that best suited my schedule. At the time of my appointment Dr. Sirounian checked my eyes with various tests, explained what's going on with my vision, explained the medical term for me to better understand and whats the best solution for me. I originally wanted color lenses and she recommended me to get regular colorless, even though colorless contact lenses are less expensive. She quickly ordered my lenses and the arrived by the end of the week. When I went to pick up my contacts, she took extra step to sow and teach me how to put them on. She told me what solution to use and how to take care of them. The office is nicely organized and very clean. For Dr. Sirounian patient's care is priority and she gives her 100% to each and every patient. She is very polite and friendly. I would most definitely recommend everyone who has eye problem no matter if it's poor vision or dry eye to book an appointment with the office and let her take care of you. He office takes most of insurances and she will try to check eligibility and have estimates before even going to see her.
