Dr. Hall is a decent dentist but his office administration is terrible. We received an invoice for $1,700 eight months after my wife's procedure. We were told that the previous office manager had screwed up the insurance billing and that we were on the hook for $1,700. My wife's procedure was elective and had we been told that it was going to cost an additional $1,700 she would have decided against having it. The customer service provided by the new office manager was terrible. She was rude and offered no apology or compromise for this matter. I suggest anyone looking for a dentist in NWX look for a different dentist. read more

Avoid Central Oregon Dentist Center at All Costs - A Nightmare Experience If you value your time, money, and health, stay far away from Central Oregon Dentist Center. My experience with them has been nothing short of a disaster, and I feel compelled to warn others before they make the same mistake. I initially had two posts placed for dental implants by Dr. Hall. The first post fell out within days. I asked them not to charge me for the failed procedure and assumed that was honored. That second one also failed, leading to an infection that required another dentist to remove it. The new dentist informed me that Dr. Hall hadn't even placed the post far enough into the bone, which explains why it failed. Here's where it gets even worse: after we had already finished paying for the second post, we suddenly received a bill for thousands of dollars out of the blue--years later. I called and emailed repeatedly to get an explanation, but they have completely ignored my attempts to contact them. Despite receiving thousands from my insurance company, they continue to harass me with bills while refusing to respond to my inquiries. At this point, if anything, they owe ME money for the costs I incurred fixing their botched work. Instead, they continue their shady billing practices and radio silence. If you're considering Central Oregon Dentist--don't. Go somewhere reputable where they stand by their work and treat their patients with basic professionalism and competence. this office canceled my appointment three times, the last time with less than 24 hours notice. When I explained this third cancellation wouldn't work for me as I had already taken the time off from work and can't reverse it; can the dentist clean my teeth? The rude, dead fish receptionist acted like I was nuts for making this request. Then I asked if I could have the next days appointment rather than waiting weeks and months for a fourth reschedule and she said no she couldn't give me someone else's appointment -- so I can get bumped endlessly but not someone else? They told me their were "staffing shortages" and that their hugenist was having personal problems and not showing for work. Sounds to me like you just can't run your business! I called 2 other places and both could see me in a week so I happily went elsewhere and so will my entire family. read more

2 stars for the dentist, Dr. Hall. He's a GREAT dentist, but that's where the praise ends. Well ok, I'll give a star to his assistant/wife Teresa also, she's good too. But the rest of the office leaves little to be desired. Unorganized and inconsistent staff led me to feel as though my best interests weren't taken into consideration. Not to mention, this practice didn't have a hygenist for months to treat patients who really needed tending to. So for those reasons, I'm out...moving on to greener pastures. read more

What a disappointing experience for a new patient. I made the appointment more than 6 months ago for a new patient/cleaning. A week before my appointment I was told they were rescheduling me because they had not received records from my previous dentist. Told the receptionist I'd call the PDX dentist and they'd send them right over but she said I'd already been taken off the schedule and my appointment was moved out 6 weeks. Funny ... the next day I received another call from the office telling me I'd need to be rescheduled for the original appt because they were short staffed. This should have been the red flag for me!!! I went in today and overheard the staff cancelling other appts for next week because of staffing as well as telling a patient in the lobby that they couldn't see him today because he didn't confirm his appointment so they automatically cancelled him. Red flag #2 As soon as I was seated was asked about needing a crown for my cracked tooth. Nope- no cracked tooth here. Red Flag #3 "What are you here for? I'm here for a cleaning as a new patient". After 5 min of the office staff conferring, I was told they could do an evaluation today, then they'd decide what type of services & cleaning appointment I'd need (some take 2 hours. What???). They could not give me any ballpark indication of when that cleaning could take place (a week, month, longer?) and they said that all of central oregon dentists were short staffed and this is their policy for new patients. Called my old Dentist in PDX (who I've gone to for 10 years) and have an appt next week. The drama is not worth it and I'd rather drive 6 hours to get quality service. read more

Thinking of going to this dentist? Don't do it. Dr Hall is good, it's the office that destroyed this practice for me. I received a bill for $1700 that included work from over 18 months ago. Less than 1/4 of the bill was from current work, the rest was over a year old. When I called the office to find out what happened, I was told that an employee wasn't good at their job and that included the billing. Here's the thing, when the doc told me that I needed work on my teeth, I was presented with an estimate of the costs. I chose to move forward with the work and paid my portion on the date of service, No problem. I also understand that the billing that I'm giving is an estimate of what my insurance will pay. I get that as well. I have good insurance and I've never had this sort of issue. Usually the dentist is pretty accurate in their estimates of what I'll owe. Until this office. My issue is that I'm presented with a very large bill for work accumulated from over a year ago. When I'm told that this was due to someone who isn't good at their job I begin to doubt not only the timeliness of the billing but also the accuracy of how the claims were submitted. I feel this is what resulted in my insurance declining to pay the claims they denied. I spent hours on the phone with my insurance, digging through claims, trying to understand dental billing language. The end of the day, I'm on the hook for this large bill. When I told the dentist office that I was not going to move forward as a patient, the response....we'll I guess you have to do what you have to do. When I expressed my frustration and upset over this bill and the billing process... I was told that Dr. Hall was very angry about the employee that has since been let go. That's super great. Not only am I told confidential information about an employee's termination, I also don't give a rip. Dr. Hall isn't the one on the hook for the bill. When I've made a mistake in my business, I don't turn around and charge the customer. I work hard to make it right. I'm now on the hunt for a new dentist. Don't go to this dentist. read more

I do not recommend this dentist. Dr Hall is nice but he lacks in communication skills. I don't know whether he did not understand my medical conditions as he never acknowledged them nor did he grasp that my nervous system was very different and highly sensitive. I only went to this dentist because my ins. Was covered and I was told that they had Nitrous. I cant do the dentist without. They did not tell the truth as they had no nitrous. I alao had 2 fillings done which became very painful and led to 2 root canals. Front office Jess is very knowledgeable and the hygenists are as well. But there was lying going on about the Nitrous. Overall very unprofessional streasful and detrimental situation. DO NOT GO. read more

Not sure what the deal is, but this dentist's office seems to be in some sort of perpetual construction - it's kinda tacky. I've had Dr. Hall as my dentist for several years, but have gone through more hygenists than I can count. Overall, the cleanings are good, but always seem to have trouble with fillings or crowns fitting properly, which end up taking a year or longer to correct over the course of many visits. Since I don't understand dentistry well, not sure why this is always such a challenge? Should probably look for other dentists for better atmosphere and reliability. read more

I've been going to Central Oregon Dental Center for eight years. I went in for a cleaning last month, and the hygienist asked me at one point during the cleaning how I was doing. I said I was okay but this was just painful. Her response was, "Well, do you understand the importance of flossing?" It is not ethical, appropriate, or professional to respond that way to a patient who is in pain. Patients are pretty powerless while they are in the dentist's chair. The dentist and/or hygienist has all of the power in that situation. I did not feel as if I could speak up during other moments in the cleaning when I was in pain. This hygienist's response to my pain broke the trust needed to maintain a functioning dentist/ patient relationship. It was enough to make me seek dental care elsewhere. read more

I have had multiple issues with this dentist: poor communication, unnecessary procedures, crown work in need of repair by another dentist, high billing. New office equipment and a building remodel are likely reasons for unnecessary procedures and billing. I recently called to discuss my dissatisfaction with having been run through xrays without my consent, to which his reply was "medically necessary" and "standard dental procedures." This has nothing to do with whether or not I agree, in advance, to $300 worth of xrays. My request for a refund was disregarded and dismissed (messaged through the office manager of course). I went for a cleaning and walked out with a $500 bill. Beware. read more

We moved to Central Oregon and have been thru a few dentists, we were happy with our first Dr. Dahling but then he retired and sold his practice. It went downhill from there...until we found Dr. Hall. We have never been to a better dentist! I first found him in an fast effort to escape the last dentist who had zero chair side manner and was not gentle at all. Our family could feel him working in our mouths and he would just continue drilling. We would white knuckle it and pray it would be over fast. Last year in December I had to have surgery and needed a crown replaced before hand. I went into Dr. Hall's office for an exam to see what they could do on short notice. He did the crown that day so I could make my surgery appt that same week. They even stayed late for me, I was amazed at the service and care I was provided. I felt nothing, he was super gentle and I enjoyed the staff. I went home and told my husband all about it and booked his next appt. The next day I had family records transferred from the bad dentist to Dr. Hall. I am going in for work today and unlike the last dentist...or two, I am not dreading it at all. I am not having anxiety. I know I am in good hands and am looking forward to seeing the people who work there. Prices, not out of line at all. X-rays when necessary. Dr. Hall is the expert, not me.
