I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Nordstrom. No one wants to go to the dentist, but with Dr. Nordstrom I have zero anxiety when I have a dental need or emergency. Dr. Nordstrom is kind, calm and explains everything he is doing and gives options. He truly cares about you and your family. His staff is friendly and efficient and always get you and appointment as soon as you need it. I had a cleaning by Jen today and I'm in awe. I've never had anyone clean my teeth with such care, precision, attention, kindness. I don't just mean that she was kind, she was also very kind in how she was working. She was attentive, and focused. I really just can't say enough about what a wonderful experience I had. I'm 30 and I never thought I would appreciate someone doing that job as much as I did today. It's usually pretty routine but it's clear this woman loves what she does, and she is good at it. I also learned a lot, and she delivered suggestions well mannered. Love it. I'm surprised it was such a good experience. read more

I needed a new dentist being that I am new to the area. I called to set up an appointment and was squeezed in a week later. The location is close to the new OSU Cascade campus on the west side. Their waiting area had a nice vibe, and awesome tunes. The dentist did my exam and let me know my treatment plan. He made it easy for me to understand what procedures were going to be done and why. They work with my insurace, and overall it was a great experience. *They don't have wifi* read more

Location on Newport Ave. They do not honor their work even after being told specifically a crown had a warranty. I have never felt like my health mattered to them and they were not much help in getting me in for timely appointments allowing a tiny cavity to get bigger. They have gone through a number of dentist and do not honor what their dentist say or the work they do. Their latest dentist was extremely rude and said they don't honor warranties or care about the work their previous dentist have done. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

This is in regards to the Newport Clinic- If you want a receptionist who gives her "medical opinion", then you should go here. After I was numbed she comes into the exam room and says there's a problem with my insurance and I should call them to find out what's wrong. Isn't that her job before I'm seen? After a week in pain and the dentist being on vacation, I call since it wasn't subsiding. I went to pick up a prescription I was told I had to pick up that she "had a dentist across the street sign". You can fax Tramadol, I've done it hundreds of times. The receptionist then said my tooth looked fine and there's no reason I should be in pain. This being said with no dentist in the office, just her handing me a prescription acting judgmental. Nobody has looked at it or taken x-rays since I had the work done, so that was a very ignorant thing to say. Also, not her place. She's snippy with a fake smile. Happily traveling to another town to see my previous dentist who has very professional staff. read more

I'm not that pleased with the service I received. I was told the relining of my upper dentures was already covered by insurance(ohp) when they first put it in my mouth, just need 6 months to heal. Well I don't have ohp anymore and they want to charge me for it read more

I had a great experience at Mirror Pond Dental Chandlers Office. The wait time could not have been more than 5 minutes and I was being prepped to fill two cavities. As an adult I was super embarrassed to have cavities. Dr. Veronica Mathews and dental assistant Taylor hands down have the best bedside manors! I wear aligners to straighten my teeth and after the work was completed my aligners still fit perfectly! Her precision is spectacular! Dr. Veronica asked me several times if I needed a break or if I was uncomfortable in anyway. This level of professional courtesy makes all the difference. read more

Terrible! First off my husband scheduled a cleaning with them and their dental hygienist took maternity leave, they did not contact him until the day before his appointment. Then they told him he has to call to schedule in 3 months and would not help him any further. SECOND: I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth removal Wednesday. So on Tuesday I went to pick up prescription and they had no idea what I was talking about. Waited for an hour for the dentist to show up to give me the paper prescription. Then the day of my wisdom teeth removal I get a call saying they cancelled it due to snow. I'm in extreme pain! And they cannot get me in until 2 months down the road. I cannot eat or sleep. WORST SERVICE I HAVE SEEN EVER(!) IN MY WORK AS A HEALTHCARE INTERPRETER - and I see A LOT of providers here in Bend! As a healthcare interpreter, today I was to accompany a patient at Mirror Pond Dental. I arrived before the patient, and they said they had no one of that name scheduled for that day. Puzzled, as I walked out, the young patient arrived with his family. We went to reception to check in again, and the receptionist said that Mirror Pond had actually left a message yesterday to reschedule the appointment. The mother explained that appointments have now gotten changed from Aug 10, to Aug 20, and now to Aug 22. She showed the appointment card they had been given, the confirmation text she had received for the 22nd and on her phone there was no message from Mirror Pond yesterday. Today is Aug 22, and the receptionist said that the next available appointment would now be for OCTOBER 31ST! For an appointment last June, the mother had to take her son out of school to be told that they'd have to have to wait an hour and 1/2 LATER than scheduled, keeping her son, the mother from work and the interpreter waiting around. I hear from other people that they don't return phone calls for requests for appointments. The most unprofessional treatment of a patient I've ever seen here in Bend (but looking at some other reviews here on Yelp, sounds like my patient is not unique!) read more

This is in response to my son's abhorrent treatment note, where you fail to mention quite a bit of detail and instead make him out to sound like an uncooperative and unstable person. It makes me angry that this was your official report and is part of my son's medical record now. My son is 14 years old. He's smart, well adjusted, a good friend and peer at school, well regarded by his teachers, a good role model for other kids, helpful, kind, thoughtful and aware. He has grown up in an environment where his voice and autonomy matter and he's encouraged to stand up for himself. He has also had horrendous experiences from dentists in the past and has seen other family struggle with dental procedures; which was discussed with your staff in depth throughout this ordeal. Which you also fail to mention. So, I'd like to reiterate a few things and add some parts you missed. The first line in your note claims that my son was unable to be treated due to behavior management. I'd like to argue that it was the behaviors of the "professionals" handling my child and not him. Also, I was unaware that a dental technician degree also came with a psychology degree and they were in a position to making behavioral, emotional, and mental diagnoses on people, especially children. During the first half of the notes regarding my son's "behavioral issues", you fail mention the part where we explained his previous experience at the age of 8 at another facility. You fail to mention William's explanation of first being lied to by other "professionals" about the course of treatment he was about to have done and being caught off guard to the point of having to reschedule. You fail to mention that his fear of having the anesthetic shot is because he had to be injected twice at his previous procedure, because the technician did it wrong. You fail to mention the part where my son discussed a very real fear of having the drill cut his gums again. Dr. Nordstrom also told us many times that he could do the procedure without anesthetic, at the first appointment, so to imply that he insisted on anesthetic for my son's comfort is outrageously misleading. You fail to mention the part where the doctor mocked his age, "how old are you, because you're acting like you're 3". You also didn't mention the part where you threatened to tie him down and told him that was a perfectly reasonable solution. At one point Dr. Nordstrom rudely commented that cavities don't start at the dentist, so if we had better home care, we wouldn't even be there. At which point I said that a fear of the dentist starts at the dentist and I reminded him that my son's cavity was because of a groove in his tooth, that it was developmental and in a place that they couldn't even get to at his cleanings. It is also claimed that I continued to try and get my son to cooperate. This is 100% true. As any mother would do and in an effort to keep him from having to come back and further endure this type of "treatment". It was also implied that the prescription medication they gave him had no effect on him. This is completely absurd and the technician also acknowledged that he was clearly effected by it. His fear of their tactics and words and his previous experiences were greater than the effect of the medication. The second I brought him back to the car he cried and fell asleep and he slept the rest of the night and was groggy the next day. He's a child and he received an adult dose of a sedative. Also in these notes, the use of nitrous oxide is mentioned. At the first appointment, when I immediately began to recognize my son's fear, I mentioned that nitrous oxide had been used at his last procedure and seemed to help a little. At no point in the conversation did I ever use the words "laughing gas". That is a term that the technician used each time it was brought up. We don't use inappropriate terminology with our son, as a rule, and especially when it comes to medical procedures. The doctor claimed that it was a safety hazard to the staff and patients to have nitrous oxide on hand because it can leak into the air, so they didn't use it there. However, when I called the pediatric dentist, they said that they never do a procedure on a child without its use. This seems very conflicting. It's dangerous to a grown up dentist to have on hand, but not to a pediatric dentist? Could it be that it's too expensive or complicated to maintain and it's a choice not to use it? Your notes also claim that I was interested and in agreement that my child needed therapy. This is absolutely not true. Unfortunately you grossly confused my acknowledgement of your position and opinions as agreement with you in any way, shape, or form. Also, in no way, shape, or form did I apologize for my son's "behavior". Only the circumstances. My moment of defense and explanation was in no way an apology for my son defending himself. The way my child was handled and the documentation of it is awful. We won't be back. read more

I would not recommend this dental office. The dentist and hygienist that my teenagers had were great. The problem is with the receptionist. I work full time and schedule appointments as far in advance as I can so that I can take the time off work. We had 2 appointments scheduled back to back for some work that needed to be done. These were scheduled weeks in advance. A week before the appointments the receptionist called to say they needed to change our appointments. She said an "urgency" came up and that it was more important than my children's needs. I explained that I had already scheduled time off work for these appointments and needed to keep them. She said, "Well sometimes these things just come up". I asked how far out the new appointments would be and she said 3 months! I am still trying to figure out how an urgency would be scheduled for a week out?! I personally think she made a mistake and was trying to cover for it. She doesn't seem to have the skills necessary to work in reception. Either way, we will not be returning due to the lack of compassion and professionalism. Steer clear! read more

my step daughter went to one there offices and had woman work on here teeth since then my daughter has been in more pain then i have ever seen and supposedly this woman told my daughter it was normal which it is not. we took here to a specialists in the dental field who then examined the previous work done by this women and he did understand what she was trying to do and then told us that this women had messed up somewhere. we are considering hiring a lawyer and fileing a lawsuit for malpractice please be very carefull if going to this dental office the one that excepts ohp because they do not know what they are doing read more

This clinic is so nice! I was a Dental Assistant for 10 years & I am very impressed with this office! Dr. Hardin took the time to explain areas of concern. I was very comfortable during treatment. They have an intra oral camera which is so nice! This allows the patient to be able to see what the doctor sees. Jen, the hygienist, is very friendly & made me comfortable. She is very thorough. She gave good information about preventative care. I appreciated her detailed explanation on perio pockets & reminded me of the number readings when perio probing & what they meant. Dani, the dental assistant was also excellent at making me feel comfortable & answering questions. The receptionist is quick, & efficient! Rude. Incompetent. Unprofessional. These are the best words to describe Mirror Pond Dental in Bend, OR. "Dr." Josh Hardin is inexperienced so if he's working on your mouth there is a high likelihood that he's performing that procedure for the first time with his creepy, tiny hands. I'm pretty sure Mirror Pond Dental is intentionally sending all OHP (state insurance) clients to this new, young guy Hardin to give him some practice. They will not grant me an appointment at their main location in downtown Bend where the experienced dentists see their patients because of my insurance policy. I'm in a tough dental situation and I needed my teeth fixed by a knowledgeable dentist, Instead I got Josh Hardin. Now I'm starting from scratch and looking for a new provider. In my opinion he doesn't have the experience to be considered a true professional and he had no business involving himself in a complicated dental situation like mine. If there is legal recourse I will use it. The front office is another source of frustration. Alicia at the front desk is easily confused and could not correctly schedule an appointment to save her life. Alicia and the manager Kristi are the main problem over there so if you find yourself dealing with them, triple check everything they do regarding your billing, appointments, insurance etc... Low quality dental work, unprofessional staff, I'm appalled. This office will be a hassle for you from start to finish, steer clear, steer clear, steer clear. My son has had issues with his teeth for several years. We have been in and out of Mirror Pond Dental for cleanings and they have been kind and courteous. However, the wait times to get in are excruciatingly long. He recently had a dental emergency and they told us to come in. Once we arrived and he was seen, he was told he would have to come back to actually have the procedure done. We scheduled the appointment and showed up for the appointment, only to be turned away because they could not find him on their charts. We made another appointment, which was 3 months from them and now he is in constant pain and the tooth is chipping. We put him on the emergency call list and have contacted them over 10 times and cannot get any type of response from their website or the voicemails we have left. I am extremely disappointed with their scheduling procedures and lack of follow up and poor communication. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone at this point. read more

Unless you want to pay $1000 to have your teeth cleaned go elsewhere. Having a deep cleaning is not an option. If they recommend it you are required to do it or they won't clean your teeth at all. I have both had deep cleanings done and declined them from other dentists. Never has it been an issue to not do the additional cleaning. read more
