Living next to different parts of Central Park is a bit of a treat for us. I lived at the Northend for over 7 years, and now at the Southend. Also worked in the UWS for over 10 years. I'd say that each part of the park has its own unique vibe, but it's all a nice escape from the city. I find myself purposely finding excuses to walk through the park, even if it's clearly out of the way or causes multiple detours. I've walked through the park, has to be a thousand times, but I still find new places to sit and watch life moving around me. During COVID the park was a safe haven to be outside to read and find calmness. The conservancy does a great job keeping the park clean and safe for us. read more

Central Park was just as stunning as I thought it would be. While in NY, we happened to stay at a hotel in walking distance of the park so we decided to take a stroll and set our sights on this beautiful area. As we entered the park, there were food trucks galore so I decided on a chili cheese hot dog from Nathan's Food Truck and it hit the spot. While walking in Central Park, there were horse drawn carriages along with street performers and art vendors. We didn't get to walk the whole park but the views we did see were absolutely beautiful! I'm so glad we were able to see such a wonderful place and I'd return in a heartbeat the next time I'm in NY. read more

This is my favorite place in the city. How beautiful to come and take a stroll . So much to see and enjoy. Today I saw ice skaters, and I saw daffodils blooming! Actually blooming ! Lots of dog, walkers and joggers and bike riders and couples ! There were squirrels screwing around, trying to find the nuts that they buried . Three artists working shoulder to shoulder sketching and painting tourists. (Very very well!) A handful of musicians, patiently, waiting for their turn to play Beatles songs at Strawberry Fields. It was a beautiful way to end the day. It really was a wonderful day today . I would definitely come back ! read more

During our visit to NYC, my wife and I were determined to explore Central Park. Our friends escorted us there via 5th Avenue, allowing us to pass by the vibrant shopping scene. We then took a leisurely loop around the southern part of the park, where we enjoyed spotting ducks and geese on the pond, watching horse-drawn carriages offer rides along the central path, and appreciating the lush greenery - though the trees were still bare in mid-March. After our stroll, we exited through Columbus Circle and headed home using the conveniently located subway, which provides easy access around the park. read more

I can't claim to know the details of the conversations taking place in the mid-1800's about the future of NYC, but it is clear to me that at least some of those voices demonstrated incredible foresight. If your goal is to cover as many uninterrupted miles during your workout as possible, you'll be pleased to learn that the interior paths within the park are entirely paved and provide clearly delineated and separate lanes for walkers, runners, and cyclists. America's most famous city park? And rightfully so, it is something special, even though it is smaller than San Francisco's Golden Gate Park and San Diego's Balboa Park. In a crowded, bustling, loud, smelly, and sleepless city...the park provides a relatively quiet sanctuary with greenery, ponds, and forests. At many angles and spots you won't be able to see any buildings. Lots of mini sites to see are free: Bow Bridge, Belvedere Castle, Bethesada Terrace, and more. Also, the street musicians seem be the worst street musicians in the world. Loud and very little talent if any, they're just hustling for tips for their poor entertainment/annoyment. On Christmas morning, on our way to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, my husband and I walked through Central Park. As it was early morning on Christmas Day, the park was quiet with very few people around. 9.0/10 Loved exploring Central Park while visiting from Orange County. It was such a nice day for a stroll and it's so beautiful here. And you bet I took advantage of it and ate like a New Yorker while here. I got a Hot Dog $? 6.0/10. You can find hot dog stands all over the park. This hot dog was average but you can't ever go wrong with a hot dog. Central Park is so scenic and great for photos, an escape from the city. You could go to any part of the park and it would be a photo op. It's also just so calming with all the trees. I think it's pretty well-maintained. The statues are nice to look at and learn a little bit more about the history behind them. I didn't know how big the park was until I started doing some research just before coming here. It's huge, you could spend the whole day here. I definitely recommend doing some research before coming here if you haven't before so you can figure out what parts of the park you want to explore the most. I explored Bow Bridge, the Mall and Literary Walk, Bethesda Terrace and the Ramble. I ended up spending a few hours here but next time I would dedicate a whole day just to relax here. The only place that comes close to my hometown, Bangalore is NYC. Having a park in the middle of the city is amazing and people hopefully realize that maintaining such a big park is not an easy task. I have been here on multiple occasions. This a great place for tourists, dates, picnics, exercising, casual walks and enjoying nature at its best. There are a lot of carts outside to grab some food. In addition, there are pretty great views of the anayac fireworks, and a location to grab your chariot horse ride. read more

Was able to make a quick stop in Central Park today with my husband and friends. There were many photo opportunities, street performances, etc throughout the different sections of the park. We of course didn't have the time to visit all of the statues and fountains, but the few that we did see were very nice. One thing that was not great was the bathrooms. They were very beat up, dirty, had caution tape on them and were small- make sure you go before you go. Also, watch out for bikes and horses. read more

When I had entered the park, I was greeted by a row of horse and carriages so I knew I was at the right place. The drivers were not pushing me/harassing me to book a ride. From there I just started to walk on one of the many walking paths. I was really surprised to see the huge rocks throughout the park which people seemed to enjoy eating or just relaxing from them. Due to the winter season, the ice skating rink was pretty steady with skaters. There were plenty of viewing areas and trucks to purchase food and drinks. I know there's a zoo in the park which I didn't check out. Maybe next time. The park seemed to be a great place to enjoy with it's many walking/running paths. A beautiful spot and an absolute must-see while in NYC. There is so much to see and do here, so you can get as little or as much out of Central Park as you want. We stayed right across the street from one of Central Park's entrances, so it was a quick walk. So many different paths and trails to explore, many areas to enjoy some piece and quiet while there are many other areas with live music and performances, and many different activities to engage in here. We got to watch the sunset from Bow Bridge - such a beautiful experience. Bethesda Terrace & Bethesda Terrace Arcade are absolutely beautiful with such gorgeous architecture and a breathtaking view of Central Park Lake. They also had dance performances and salsa classes going on. Other notable stops included Belvedere Castle, Great Lawn, the Ramble, and the Obelisk. If you're going to MOMA and it's feasible for you, walking there through Central Park is such an enjoyable treat. Wish the cherry blossom and strawberry fields had been in bloom while we were there, but the paths are still enjoyable and beautiful nonetheless. I wish we had more time to spend exploring all that Central Park has to offer. So if you're planning a trip here, look up Central Park in advance and afford yourself plenty of time to enjoy all it has to offer. read more

I love Central Park!! I truly love it here. There's actually soooo much to do and so much to look at. It's bananas how large it is-- so much greenery, little pockets of things like a large reservoir in the middle of it that you can walk around, boats to hop on, people playing volleyball, softball fields, and even horses in carriages passing you by. You can't come to New York and not visit Central Park, it should be on everyone's itinerary in my opinion. This was a nice park to walk through. There's so much to see there. We saw the Belvedere Castle and an ice skating rink and several nice bridges. There were also large rocks people were climbing on. I wish there were more signs to see how to exit the park because once you're in the park, it can be very winding and hard to figure out the fastest way to exit and in which direction to exit. read more

Central Park is a MUST do on any NYC trip. It is truly my favorite place to be, especially when you are feeling overwhelmed in the big city. There are so many famous places to visit in Central Park, so I suggest researching those before you plan your visit. Additionally, you can swing by the Central Park Conservancy Shop and chat with the customer service for ideas. The park is enormous, and although it wouldn't be difficult to spend your entire day there, it would be very difficult to see every spot in the park. I suggest creating a Central Park bucket list of three things you want to see. My personal favorites are the Imagine mosaic (John Lennon Memorial) at Strawberry Fields, Bethesda Fountain/Terrace, and the Bow Bridge. Of course a trip to Central Park would not be complete without a stop at one of the Nathan's hot dog stands. There are plenty of food stands throughout the park, so my suggestion is bringing a water bottle and a small blanket, so you can grab food when you're hungry and have a small picnic! read more

As a longtime Angeleno and firm believer of 'West Coast is the Best Coast', I found Central Park to be a breath of fresh air in New York City. Nestled amid the towering skyscrapers and busy streets, I found this iconic park to be an unexpected delight. I first walked the outer perimeter of the park which was approximately 6 miles and afterwards meandered along some of the winding paths through the park and past the lakes. The day was clear and brisk in the city and the sun was shining. It was an almost spring day and a balmy 50 degrees on the Upper East Side. There was still a smattering of snow that made the park even more picturesque as the ducks paraded along the shoreline. Children shouted and laughed to my delight as they ran and played on jungle gyms. As a visitor from Los Angeles, I was particularly struck by the park's ability to provide a sense of escape without leaving the city. The noise and chaos of Manhattan faded away as I wandered through and I found myself appreciating slowing down. It was a lovely reminder that even in the midst of a bustling metropolis, moments of tranquility and connection with nature are still available. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the park; posted signs reminded visitors to keep the park clean because it was their back yard. My visit to Central Park was more than just a stroll through a famous park. For anyone from Los Angeles or otherwise, I highly recommend a trip to this enchanting park. Central Park is just one of those magical incredible places in the world everyone needs to be able to visit, enjoy and experience. It is a large, lush, breathing piece of nature in the center of these incredibly large man-made structures all around. People flock here laying out, enjoying the sun, the energy, the vibe. In every little area, the ground, the walls, the hallways, the structures, the parks within the park all have history and a story if you look and listen. There are small details all around ... swimming turtles, a kids zoo, street vendors, opera singers in hidden tunnels, water fountains, people from all over the world and ages... Take it all in and appreciate every moment. It is one thing to see Central Park in Movies as it is showcased often in Movies usually from a High Tower building from a bedroom/living room or hotshot lawyer view. It is another thing to go there yourself and see the expansiveness of the park. I walked from one end and almost got to the other end, and it took a few hours with various stops along the way. The properties that overlook the park, wow incredible. Within the park they have a map, a castle, so many little kids parks, water parks, a baseball field, walking trails, animal areas, zoo, statutes, art areas, street performers, a restaurant, bathrooms... grab some snacks, drinks, loved ones or just go and take some time for yourself to self-reflect there. I would if I was there more often. I am sure there are negative things about the park, but I would say I am an avid park goer and this one for sure is at the super top of the list. read more
