The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! They can be a little tricky to find, but don't hesitate to call to ask for directions!

Upon discharge the coordinator Rachel did not have our paperwork ready and needed extended time doing so. When I went to pick her up after an email stating I would be there, the paperwork was not complete. At the nurses station the head nurse told me that she has a uti. It is standard practice to keep a patient until medically cleared. I was shown her labs, which clearly showed a uti. I was told to leave and come back between 5 and 6 in the evening. I did and the nurse changed what she had said per the doctor. Stating that it was contamination not a uti. Even though my aunt said it was burning when she urinated and that her back hurt. I took her home and she still said she was having the discomfort. I told her that the doctor said she didn't. She has dementia and developed a severe altered mental status, incontinence, and back pain that became unbearable. We ended up at the ER where she is now with a UTI. North mountain is supposedly the #1 rehab and skilled nursing facility in the valley. I would beg to differ. I emailed the coordinators at north mountain about this with one of them requesting that Rachel reach out to me in regards to our experience. I have yet to hear from anyone. Think twice before choosing them for your loved one.

Many of the 1 ratings on this page pertain to billing, Emergency Room experiences, and feelings of mistreatment. Our family member, several weeks ago, felt the imaging staff had no respect for her fragile body and curved spine. They knew what they needed to do, they had a long, busy, full night. The patient was a technical task needing solving. Some years ago, a doctor gave me his opinion from, as he said, "The view from 30,000 feet. " The view here from 30,000 feet is "Medical City". I do not know how many thousands of people "live" in this city from Janitors to food prep, nursing, brain surgeons and administrators. It is a complex place dealing with every aspect of human bodies, birth to preservation, and who is going to pay for these services and how. January, 2026 we learned, at a physical therapy center, the insurer of our family member withdrew Medicare Advantage coverage from them December 31, 2025. We scrambled. Elderly, on Medicare, we fell back on standard Medicare, but paid out of pocket for awhile. My heart goes out to people crushed between low pay and less than stellar medical insurance, and the medical institutions treating them, no matter the circumstances. We do not know what this hospitalization will ultimately cost our family. Care of our family member has been deep and wide. I think of thecduffering of my ancestors from falls, infections and the many diseases I get vaxed for. It is miraculous age. I see medications delivered at millionths of grams keeping a body functioning and relatively oit of pain. I am amazed. I see the teams assembled to work these medical miracles and I am amazed.

He was treated, but while he was there, he ran out of short-term care days on his Medicare coverage. So he needed to have an interview for long-term care coverage. But, he needed to get 45 points to meet the criteria and was only assigned 43 points. So the hospital discharged him saying he was capable of self-care and would not need long term care. So, we arranged a place for him where he could live, but he would need to care for himself. It wasn't long, though, before we learned how untrue their claims about him were. He is absolutely incapable of self-care. He needs his meds prepared for him and needs to be told when to take them. He needs his meals prepared for him. He even needs to be told when to go to the bathroom. He can physically do things, but he gets so confused that he needs someone telling him what things to do. Admittedly, he is easily confused, but when we asked him how he only scored 43, he told us that he was just saying what they told him to say. So, it kind of looks like St. Josephs may have coached my brother to say he was more capable than he is, even though it cost him access to the long-term care he needs.

I will tell you that during this long stay, we interacted with dozens of different teams. And this was an overall good experience. From the security people, nurses, techs, doctors, cafe staff, and even the cleaning crew- we were treated respectfully and everyone communicated with us. And these doctors took the time to really explain what was happening. I know from stays at other hospitals that family is often left in the dark about how and what needs to be done, but they have all been very transparent and ensure we know what they know.

The RN assigned to us was somewhat polite, but when we asked for water for the patient, we were told we could get it ourselves rather than being assisted. I also did not observe the IV port being sanitized before medication was administered, and a green disinfecting cap was not placed on the IV afterward. In addition, the pads the patient was lying on had visible blood on them and were not changed. I ended up removing the soiled pad from underneath her myself. These are basic cleanliness and sanitation practices that are important in a hospital setting. The experience left me feeling like I had to closely watch the care being provided to make sure things were being done properly. I hope hospital leadership or patient relations reviews this feedback and reinforces proper care standards for future patients.

Needed time for the swelling to go done. in 2025 I went back and refitted me for a permanent Bridge .So far no problem untill i received a letter from the dentist that i owed them $$ . I contacted them and they said the insurance denied them and that I must paid or they will file a refusal of payment. Now the fun part , calling United Health Care. Oh that's not us let me switch you over to the dentist department. Gave them my information and they said ok we see you but we can't see the denial , that's another dept. Back to the first dept and they said it looks like the Dentist put in the wrong code. You must call the Dentist and get the correct code and grievance the denail. Dentist. we gave in the right codes, the first was for a temp and the second is for the permanent. Called back UHC and they said o I see , ok will forard this over. Waited and no response. Called back UHC (and you know I get a different person every time and have to start from the start )and asked what's the story , gave my information and had to start from the beginning again. They said I needed to also send in a request so I started aging righting the story again and fax it to Office and received a confirmation. Waited and nothing. So call UHC and started over with the information and said I was waiting for a response. They looked in notes and see no fax or request. So I repeated the story 3-5 more times and they typed it all in and said they will forward it on and to wait for a response. 2026 and I get a notice of it timing out for the 65 days you get to respond. I call UHC and start from the beginning and go back and forth. The day ended and so did the phone call. The next day I called UHC and started form the start , she said she needed to get someone else on the phone for more information and started from the start. The new person said she could put the request again but doesn't think it will have and just get denied . I said lets do it any way. I pick up the mail and see a letter from guess who-UHC. Open it up and see it saying they were trying to get it touch we me and that the email was returned. Called UHC and gave my information. Started from the beginning again and he said to hold on. Came back and said my request will most likely get denied again and said I can request a outside to exam the case. Then he went on and said that UHC sees a temp and a permanent bridge as the same and will turn down any request as this is there policy. Then have a nice day and good luck. So the bottom line is they will never pay for a permanent bridge after a temp. And as everyone knows when you get teeth pulled you need to wait 6months or more for the swelling to go down. So you need temps for that time. Rich C

The burning urination began before the treatments ended and I was told it was temporary. I was told testosterone fed the cancer so it had to be stripped as low as possible. What I found in researching after the fact was this theory was based on a bogus study from 1941 and the opposite is true. The testosterone should be increased to help control the cancer. Finally about three weeks after the treatments, the rectal burning began along with bleeding. As many as six bowel movements a day and painful. I went to a urologist for a consultation and was told all I am experiencing are drawbacks to Cyberknife and that I'd need to live with the symptoms. I asked how long they might last and was told indefinitely. All the employees were nice especially the day to day technicians but I hindsight I don't feel the consultations were honest.
