I wasn't looking for frills but quality work to help get some of the kinks out of my back. I came to the right place! Called for a same-day appointment and the woman who answered the phone was very polite and accommodating. When I asked to confirm pricing from what is on the site, those are up-to-date and accurate. They are very easily located on Silber right after the entrance to the Edwards Theater. The lobby is clean and not dark and sketchy, with no cheesy music playing or blackout curtains. I went for the Combo #2 (80 mins total, 40 mins back/shoulder and 40 mins feet/head/arms) and Helen took the most amazing care of me. The pressure was hard, which I needed, but not painful; she truly worked on my issues and didn't just rub oil on my back. When we were finished, I got dressed and went into the other room for her to do my feet and I just wanted to sleep. She placed a warm therapy pillow on the lower part of my back and got to work while my feet soaked in a tub of warm/hot water. Helen proceeded to really work on my feet, legs, and toes! But only after she did a great job on my head (why do head massages just put me to sleep?) and then neck and shoulders and then placed a warm therapy eye pillow on my face to allow me to really sink into the second part of my appointment. Fancy spas are great if you are looking for that. But if you are truly looking for a quality experience with very professional people, I cannot recommend Soul Retreat Spa enough. Then they do your arms and a little stretching. When they move onto your feet it's like you didn't know you had those areas that needed it. When I say they really get in there they really get in there. The sides, the heels, the entire foot. Wow. And then there is this stretching at the end and toe slapping and popping and kneading and everything I didn't know I needed. For $50 for an hour it was well worth it. I chose a female massage therapist for my own comfort level. When I walked in, I was greeted by two women and they led me into the common massage area, where each massage bed is sectioned off with curtains only. I ended up getting a male massage therapist without any notification. This male massage therapist (I was unable to get his name) made me feel very uncomfortable. Although the foot massage only lasted less than 30 minutes, the head massage and shoulder massage were great. He mainly focused a lot of the time during the massage in my glutes and inner thigh areas. Once finished, he quietly whispered in my ear, "see you again soon." As a woman, this made me VERY uncomfortable. I tried expressing my concerns directly to the massage therapist afterwards, but he ran to the back right after the massage. When I was paying, I expressed my concerns to the woman who greeted me. She disregarded my concerns and only focused on the next customers coming in. As someone who frequents massages regularly and was excited to try a new spot, I will NOT return. I wrote this similar review on Google Reviews, and they reached out to me personally, trying to cover up their faults by offering a free massage at a place where I was harassed.

They were able to accommodate me. I was put in a private room, which is different than most locations which have a open room of reclining chairs. I also waited about 15 minutes for a masseur to show up. I got the sense that the front desk called somebody to come from home or that was out running errands to come back and do my massage. The massage felt hurried and rough - though I did get my full-time. I can't quite put my finger on it. But it just wasn't exactly the experience that I prefer at other locations in Katy.
