In fact, there was a flag football game going on when I visited. The park is very well kept and has a lot of good things to offer. It offers BBQ stations, drinking fountains, a shaded structure with tables, restrooms, hot coal disposal, modern playground equipment, and basketball courts. My favorite part about this park is the amount of green grass. Oh yes, the gazebo is available for rent.

The gazebo is rented at $353+ and you will also be charged with a security deposit (refundable). The food gets cold very quickly. No candles or food warming element can stay lit as the wind keeps blowing them out. Table cloths are flying over the food, etc. All decorations are blown away. Terrible terrible experience. All of our efforts preparing were wasted. No electricity as it turned out it's a separate request in advance and additional fee. So what I suggest is before making a reservation, visit the park first and see for yourself. I wish we read the reviews first.

This was the first time I've been to a park that had a concrete hockey ring. The basketball courts were very good and so was the condition of the walking and jogging lanes around the park. The park offers a good parking lot and a nice view all the way down to the coast on a non foggy day. It's a good park to bring the family and exercise.

This is more based on the dog park that's on the same lot as the Children's Park. This one uses…read moreturf, which i find has it's benefits on the days after a rainstorm since it doesn't get muddy. There are four big pine trees with separate retaining walls around three of them for owners to sit down. With it being so close to the bay, there's often a nice breeze that goes through the park. There's no divide between small dogs and big dogs, so it's best to just keep an eye on your dog, and many owners around here are usually respectful. The street parking immediately adjacent to the park is free, however, it has a limit of 30 minutes, and the parking meter workers are strict on it if they're around. I bring my dog here around lunch time because those who live/ work in the area tend to bring their dogs during their break time and my dog gets his socialization time. They close 8am-11am MWF for maintenance/ cleaning. Currently, both gates are broken so it's not as secure as it should be, and who knows when the city will actually fix it. There're a few agility structures and a water dispenser. The children's park itself looks pretty cool for kids with a lot of structures with slides and swings. There's also another separate area with fixed exercise equipment that looks well- maintained. The water feature in the park is a water feature, not a pool.

There have been times when I asked to turn it down or play kid friendly music and sometimes they oblige but others they just ignore the request and continue to attempt to dance like the Jabawokeez. I said try. Or they do that whacking silliness and fight with the air.... Regardless of the various characters at this park, this park is pretty legit. It's kept pretty clean. I honestly can't tell you what the bathrooms look like inside because I just don't use public bathrooms unless it's an emergency.

Children possibly between the ages of 5-7 walking on the ledge of the ball pit area and jumping onto the inflatable obstacle course. I was worried if they lost their balance walking on the ledge they would've landed on my daughter who was sat playing in the ball pit. One older boy, around 5-6 years old forcefully moved my 1 year old's hand from an item they both wanted, and parents nowhere to be found or redirect the behavior. So, I instead moved my daughter to a different area. One parent seemed to have stayed on his computer with headphones in the ENTIRE time while we were there, and I never saw him get up to check on his children the hour that we were there. Safety should be the priority for everyone and parents sitting there staring at a screen is totally unfair to the parents who are near their children the entire time, as this place claims it should be. We did enjoy it, though it seemed more stressful trying to make sure the other older children didn't accidentally hurt my child while their parents' face remained glued to a screen.

A couple of the kids had a minor accident and she made sure to go out of her way checking in on the kids asking if we needed anything and even offering ice packs.
