My wife introduced me to this place and it really is a nice change up on the normal place to meet up with friends. Just keep in mind their hours! I think their open wed- Sunday and close at midnight every night their open. They do every so often put on great events where it can get crowded. From time to time when I am here we have played their games and met new people. Some people even bring their dogs with them. There is a handful of parking around the area so drive around a bit and you will find something. Great place to chill and hang hope you discover it's greatness like I have. read more

This might be my new favorite brewery in town. I like IPAs and all, but it is also nice to have some variety. Their imperial stout was great and you can even get a 40oz can you go if you want (well, for any of the beers, not just the imperial). Their blueberry gose was also really nice for a warm afternoon and I'm not generally a huge sour beer person. Everything I've tried there so far has been worth it. Extra props for the food truck out front and a really nice indoor-outdoor combined space. read more

CSB makes quality beers- they always hit the target on whatever style they are aiming for. My favorite is The Wizard, an IPA with grapefruit and pine notes. Girlfriend is a refreshing hoppy wheat. This brewery is the best brewery in Wichita, KS hands down. I love how the workers recognize me everytime I come in, I'm always fascinated with what's new on their menu. I can't help but enjoy the environment, very diverse group of people. This is definitely a hipster place to hang around and chill, the fashion people wear reminds me of my hometown Los Angeles. You see different kinds of people here and it's so good to see. But my mind was blown when I saw hipsters around, I never thought I'd run into people like that in Wichita. Great place to mingle around too, especially if there's barely any seats. HOWEVER, out of all of the breweries in Wichita. This place is definitely the best out of all of them but there's one thing that sets me back along with my relatives that I bring here when they're in Wichita.. this place gives you the "beer runs" like it's so bad! I can't help it but run to the bathroom every 15-20 minutes. After every run to the bathroom to release my beer shit, It's worth it in my eyes.. So fair warning/advice to my fellow Wichitans that have this issue, grab yourself a water with your beer. It doesn't stop the problem, but it eases it a lot. 2015 introduced two new breweries to the Wichita area, and now we can finally claim to have a brewing scene just like most other cities of a moderately large size. While each brewery has their charms, Central Standard is the best, and it's because of the sour bacteria that finds its way into many of its beers. So many breweries stick to the standards - an IPA, a hefeweizen, a brown ale - but CSB started from the beginning brewing nuanced and flavorful sour beers that went well beyond the norm. Within a year of opening, they've bottled their first beer (limited release), and brewed a collaboration with Odell, not to mention becoming fully ensconced within the local Wichita brew scene (I maintain that their Sour Hatch Kid was the best beer at Johnson's Hatch Chile Festival last year). Not only do they brew beyond the norm, their location is unparalleled. They did good fighting the neighborhood to renovate that old warehouse across from Hyde Park, because sitting on the patio on a warm night, a food truck slinging grub on the curb or the grill fired up, live music playing inside amid the crappy 50's furniture, you might have a hard time believing you're in Wichita. CSB's success is no secret, and it's unfortunately the worst part about the place. Visit on a weekend night that's offering music or a special event and you'll be lucky to find a place to sit after muscling your way to the bartenders. For a more enjoyable experience, visit around noontime, grab a little lunch, and enjoy a well-rounded beer amid the sounds of this sleepy neighborhood in the Design District. read more

Excellent new brewery near downtown Wichita. They did a great job with the space, nice big patio with cafe lights and they had a food truck available for dinner the night we were there. Inside is a mix of modern decor and older furniture like kitchen tables and couches and coffee tables. Great place to kick back and enjoy some delicious beers The sour beers were my favorite. The Sour Hatch Kid was outstanding. I also really enjoyed the Standard Model which is another sour they offer. IPA wasn't as hoppy as I typically like but still very good. A very good addition to the Wichita craft brew scene and I will be back often to check out what new beers they have to offer. read more

My fiance and I are Wichita natives, and were back in town over the holidays. Loved getting to experience some of ICT's newest gems, including Central Standard Brewing! Central Standard would make a great venue for a small event: well-styled and very open, comfortable for a crowd. The staff was friendly and informative; they even gave us a free sample from the cask! The only reason I gave 4 stars out of 5 is that I'm not a big fan of their main offerings (Belgians, sours, wild/brett beers). My fiance loved all of those, however, and I really enjoyed their Tenderfoot Imperial Stout. Looking forward to stopping by again the next time we're in town. read more

Best brewery in Wichita...Hell possibly the best in the state of Kansas! Every beer was delicious and I enjoyed every one. My favorite was their Hop Theory, a dry hopped sour. I visited this brewery on 10/11/2015, around 2pm it was my first time checking this place out. This Brewery ROCKS!, One of if not the best brewery in the city, a lot of different Beers on tap, I tried the Keef Richard (coconut porter), Issue, and the Wizard, each of the beers I tried were awesome. The brewery staff are putting 110% into this place. The atmosphere and decor are really cool, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, great place to bring a group of people to hangout. I came for an event here a few weeks ago, on Sunday they had a Jamaican inspired party, they served delicious free Jerk chicken, coconut rice, pineapple and chips, and had reggae music playing. Their beers are quite simply the best in the local brewery scene. I am an IPA fan and find them in the same class as Toppling Goliath out of Iowa. When I do venture away from the IPA's I find their stouts very good as well. Looking forward to getting a refill of my growler as they have a 20 percent discount I believe on Sunday. The location is great in a neighborhood setting just off the Main Street (Douglas) where more breweries are located. The atmosphere is very laid back , with ample seating on the patio as the weather allows. They even put cooling fans out during the hot summer days but is in a shady area which helps as well ( yes you can find trees in Wichita). I have never eaten at the food truck but did have a cheese and cracker plate that had a very ample portion for my wife and I. This was served by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The only problem is I spend too much money there as I like so much but always make it home with Uber ... Really in a class all it's own for not only Wichita but all craft breweries including iconic locations as San Diego and Washington where it would fit in nicely read more

Keef Richards. Can you ask for a better beer. Nicely balanced porter infused with a coconut flavor. What's not to like. The place reminds me of "The Friendly Place" or "The Luxury" in San Antonio. I visited the Central Standard Brewing because one of my favorite food trucks (Uno Mas) was there that day and I really wanted tacos. To my surprise, this place was awesome! I absolutely loved the decor and had to take pictures! So far, I've only had the Sun Ra (two times). I'll probably try something different next time. A great spot to chill with friends. Went to this brewery 3 years ago when it opened. Rated it the worst brewery ever. Went back a year ago and they had added some decent beers. Went back today and they have reverted to their crappy roots. If you only like Gose, sour, saison, farmhouse, IPA, Double IPA and anything else that sucks in the beer world you'll love CSB. If you like normal beer like lagers, Ambers, Porters, Stouts, Oktoberfest, Irish Red, or pretty much anything normal skip this poor excuse for a brewery. I have visited this brewery several times in the last two months. I just moved home to Wichita and I couldn't be more stoked about CSB. The staff are extra kind and on top of the bar. The place is well lit and the style reminds me of living in Wichita in the 90s. The textures and furnishings remind me of thrift store finds and houses in riverside and college hill.
