Great beer, fun atmosphere, and lots of space to accommodate crowds. I like IPAs and pale ales. I don't remember the names of them (although I do recall they were clever) but the beers I tried were both very good. It was crowded that night but it did not take us long to get our drinks. A band was playing (pretty good band) and it wasn't extremely loud. I was still able to carry a conversation. I noticed a nice little seating area with a couch, comfy chairs, and a TV (nice touch). The decor was eclectic. My wife and I both commented that most of the tables and chairs looked like ones that our grandparents had owned (however not cheap or worn down). Overall experience was great. The only thing I wish was different was having a few more drink options for non-beer-drinkers. With all the gluten intolerance/food allergies it is nice to have a few more options. They did have sangria but it would be cool to be able to get a margarita,bloody mary, or a gluten-free beer too. read more

By far my fav brewery in Wichita as far as the atmosphere goes. Having came from a city with over 75 local breweries, I appreciate the time and effort the owners went to to make this place a quality tap house brewery. They usually have food trucks outside which is great. Keep in mind that this is a tap house and not a restaurant brewery. The prices are pretty standard and the service is terrific. read more

CSB makes some great beer! If you like IPA's try the hoppy wizard! Love the atmosphere, especially when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Would love for them to add some propane heaters outside so the patio could be enjoyed year around. Bartenders are always friendly and quick. Left my credit card there over the weekend, and they were nice enough to let me in to retrieve the card even though they were closed. read more

Love love love me some Central Standard Brewery! I love the atmosphere, the crowd, the decor, the patio and most importantly the beer. Personal favorite is The Girlfriend but there are a range of beers to try. If it's your first time in I would suggest ordering up a couple 5 oz. testers at just $2 bucks a pop. Food trucks are regulars outside so be sure to check social media (FB, Instagram, etc..) if you're thinking about grabbing something to eat first. read more

Great location and atmosphere. The beer is high quality, but, you have to be into sour flavors and high hops after notes - not for everyone's palate. I have found people either love or hate it (the customers really love it... and there are a lot of them!) This place is a force. These are the beers I've been craving. They are creative and ambitious in their brews. I spent Halloween here dressed as a 70 year old man but still got great service despite my haggard appearance. My friend drank sangria all night which was amazing but might give you a cavity. This place has it all....ambiance - refurbished retro furniture with classic board games at many tables and one of the best patios, with strung lights, in Wichita. Food is currently provided by a rotation of food trucks or they have boards of cheese, meats, trail mix, and nuts that compliment the beers real well. And then, of course, the beers! Start light with The Girlfriend. Give their Keef Richards (coconut) porter a whirl - yum! Then, end with their latest new beer. I really hope this brewery makes it big in Wichita! Yes please! The best brewery in Wichita with a good variety of beers for everyone. The vibe is happy, relaxed, social - share tables with strangers while being surrounded with vintage seating and tables. Two large garage doors open to an outdoor patio with strings of lights and picnic tables. They offer some meat/cheese boards that are DELICIOUS and the best deal in town. Usually there is a food truck there as well for busy evenings, or sometimes they offer other food items. CSB is a hot spot for sure. read more

My favorite so far in Wichita--lovely beer selection (they are ahead of the curve, as most places are still obsessed with IPAs), the wall opens up onto the patio, and it feels more like a great gathering place than a bar! I've only been to this place once and it was good not great. The beer was good and they had an interesting selection but I thought it was just a bit over priced. I liked the interior it has a cool vibe, the garage doors were open which was great for a nice fall day. The reason I did not rate this place higher was the staff was not very friendly it had a hipster vibe which I don't mind if it's friendly but it felt like if you weren't part of their crew they didn't really want to bother with you. Hopefully this was just an aberration I plan on going back to give it another try and support a local brewer. read more

Well, you may not like the beer. Sour beers, they exist and Central Standard loves them. I hate sour beers. If you are like me you might find your experience here could be underwhelming. If you like sour beers then you will love central standard. Its not just one sour beer. All the beers are sour in one way or another. One of the beers made me feel like I was getting trolled. Was there Oct 9th with my sister, ordered moondog saison, neither one of us could finish it. I couldn't imagine anyone liking that beer. It tasted like bad blue cheese. The only non-sour beer on the menu that night was a coconut porter. No thanks.You may be wonder why is this guy being an a-hole, trashing their beer but still giving a 4 star rating? I'll tell you why. The girlfriend, the girlfriend is freaking fantastic. One of the better beers I've had in awhile. And the promise of the girlfriend will keep bringing me back for more. read more

This is a very neat new brewery in Wichita that is worth the stop. It's got a wonderful atmosphere, but did kind of fall flat after visiting Hopping Gnome right before. The biggest issue is that they don't do flights. They do half pours, which is nice, but still, why no flights? They can't be that difficult or 95% of breweries wouldn't do them. The other issue we had is that they have growlers and crowlers both to take with you. It's nice to have choices, but my boyfriend and I discussed how easy it could be to mix it up, and sure enough, he ordered a growler and got a crowler given to him instead. Easy enough to rectify, but still a hassle for both parties. Lastly, while I find this to be a huge plus, my boyfriend was less than thrilled that they had 3 sours on tap out of the 7 beers available and their descriptions, while cute, tell you absolutely nothing about what to expect. Overall we'd definitely stop back by if we're in that area again. read more
