I've been a patient here for more than 10 years and was referred to another neurologist after Dr. Fox retired. I was interested in coming back to CTN, but after trying to reach their office all week with no response (nobody answers the main line, nor calls you back after you've left messages) I've decided not to use Central Texas Neurology. This is especially disappointing. Reliable communication is essential in healthcare. Patients should not have to struggle to reach their provider's office. When you rely on a physician for ongoing care, especially for chronic conditions, this level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable. read more

I am so disappointed and baffled by the lack of care I have received from this practice. I waited over 3 months to meet with Dr. Couch. I sent in all my medical records as requested, and they were never uploaded to my file for the doctor to view. My appointment was canceled and not communicated. I was treated so poorly by the scheduling lady that another staff member noticed and spoke up. Referrals I was told would be made were never heard from. I was told by a nurse that notes of what I discussed with the dr. are not in my chart. I was not followed up with regarding referrals I called to inquire about, and I have to wait until April to see Dr. Couch for the first time, which is 7+ months from my initial attempt to schedule an appointment with him. I rarely write reviews, but neurological conditions can be dangerous and critical, and I would hate for somebody else to go through what I have during an already difficult and stressful time. read more

I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent scheduling experience with Dr. Horvit's office. Unfortunately, it hasn't been a positive one so far. I've called multiple times and left several voicemail messages over the past 48 hours but haven't received a response. I do have an active referral on file, which Dr. Horvit's office should also have. When I last spoke with a representative, I was transferred to Dr. Horvit's scheduler, but there was no answer. I was told I'd receive a call back, but that hasn't happened. I understand things can get busy, but this lack of follow-up feels disappointing and reflects poorly on the level of service. I was two hours early for my appointment, due to transportation issues, and they got me in as early as they possibly could, which was about a half hour before my original appointment. They were nice, the nurse is hilarious, and Dr. Couch was attentive, listened to my needs, And was really kind! I always hate going to see new doctors, and I'm really glad that I went. It was just a great all-around experience. If you're looking for a neurologist, I recommend Dr. Couch. read more

I have gone here for many, many years. Most likely 15 or 20 years. My last visit I paid cash for my copay. She asked me if I wanted a receipt and I said no. It wasn't a lot of money. I thought that I should have gotten one as I walked to my car but didn't go back in. Sure enough, they billed me again. I called and explained this to the billing department. I gave them a word for word description of my transaction at the desk. They didn't take my word for it. You would think that a long time patient that has never failed to pay before they would side with the patient for a mere $15.00. Not the case. I will never trust or refer them again. I like my doctor, but the office appears to be less than honest. read more

I started going to this office in late 2024. Jan 1, 2025 I picked up a CPAP machine. Perfectly understandable, I had not met my deductible for 2025 so I paid $400 out of pocket. By the time the office submitted the claim to insurance I had met my deductible so insurance paid $400 also. So they have been double paid. The problem is I have been working for UHC to get my refund because the office does not answer the phone. UHC also says they can't reach them. UHC also says they are breaking their agreement with UHC. This has now been 11 months and still no resolution. read more

One of the worst clinics I've ever experienced. The entire front office staff completely dropped the ball on a job they supposedly do every day. This staff is the least helpful in terms of a resolution. If they can't get me through the door, I can't trust them on what happens once inside or even after they provide a service. We have been to the CTNC two times for appointments. The wait time to receive services has been excessively long. The web site explains that if the patient is a minute late or the paperwork is incomplete the appointment is cancelled. CTNC has low public presentation skills. read more

This place is the best! I've been to multiple neurologists in the past, and I always gave up because... they seemed to give up on me and my migraines or would say things like "just don't take pain medication." Seriously??! Dr. Couch listens patiently, is empathetic, and is the first doctor to help me find a treatment that works. He also understood my hesitation to keep trying new medications after so many have let me down. He gently suggested my new treatment a year ago and talked through my concerns until I felt confident. Thanks to Central Texas Neurology, my quality of life has improved drastically. I recommend you stop searching and visit this clinic right away. read more

Update! I have called Central Texas Neurology a total of 3 times over the last year and was not able to get in touch with anyone or get a callback. Last week I got a collections notice in the mail for the $30 copay that they wouldn't call me back to pay. Mind you, I was not able to use the online pay service, as the system didn't recognize me. Sooooo there is that. Just thought that I would advise that not only did have have the previous experience, I now need to deal with a collections request ... which was due to their negligence and not mine. I have been a patient at CTN since moving to Central Texas nearly 20 years ago. The medical care I receive from my doctor and the nurses that administer my regular infusions is worthy of every star. Every aspect of administration; front desk, insurance and accessibility is handled with the utmost attention to care, compassion and comfort. I have made several calls on different occasions and left multiple messages no one ever ever returned my phone calls. 2 months ago they scheduled a phone meeting for my mom so I took the day off today time passed for the appointment I called up there and they told me that he was out of town. Referred by my neurosurgeon for headaches post brain surgery. Called March 3 for an appointment and they have no availability until July 11!

I was referred to this practice for the treatment of chronic cluster headaches by my primary care physician. I can not comment on their level of medical competence but the office staff is either incompetent or dead! They DO NOT return phone calls at ALL!! After 5 days of trying to reach an actual human to schedule an appointment for treatment, I am moving on. Someone needs to take accountability here and straighten this mess out!! The next time I am in the area of this practice you can bet I will go in and give them a piece of my mind!!! read more

HORRIBLE....Went in for my migraines and was unable to take the shot that was prescribed. I was told about two other options but was also told that I had to come back to the office for prescription which meant another office visit and additional money. The office MA, Candice for Dr. Couch, could never be reached and I was always getting her VM. When she did respond back it was usually 3 - 5 days later and with attitude. She never had answers as to why I had to come back in and would not let me speak to anyone else at the office. Terrible customer service and clearly do not care about their patients when dealing with migraines. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND to anyone. Seems they are just looking to continue to get you into the office for additional fees and not care that you are suffering with migraines. Horrible experience and horrible patient care. read more

I do not recommend due to questionable business practices. I saw Dr Horvit in Dec 2018. When I went in for my appt I was asked for payment in the amount of $50.00. I told the person at the desk I though it was ~ $200.00 and she insisted it was only $50.00. Due to issues with the front desk and my appt time, I asked to talk to Dr Horvit's medical assistant (I no longer recall her name as it been nearly 3 years) whom I made the appt with and who confirmed the time. She straightened out the appt time. I then talked to her about my concern on what I was asked to pay letting her know I needed to cover anything under my FSA before years end. She assured me, I only needed to pay the $50.00 that they collected at the front desk and if I was billed for anything more to call her and she would take care of it. I received a bill from them for ~$260.00 in Jan or Feb 2019 and I called her, medical assistant, leaving a message. I did not receive a call back. The next month I received another bill and I called her again leaving a message and I again did not receive a call back. I received a 3rd bill the next month and this time I called asking for the office manager. I spoke with whom I believe was Vernon providing all the details. He assured me he would take care of it. I never received any call backs, nor did I ever receive another bill. I assumed this was finally resolved. Now years later, they have sent me to a collection agency. I have left a message for the business manager (Vernon) and have not received a call back. I have notified my refereeing provider. read more

I HIGHLY recommend this doctor's office! The front desk staff was nice and funny... The gentleman that came and got me to screen me (nurse? wasn't dressed in scrubs...) was sweet, funny, made me feel comfortable. Dr Horvit was so nice and funny as well. Unfortunately it is not often you go to a doctor's office and receive this good of care, usually the staff is rude or indifferent. That is not at all the case here! I was referred here by my primary physician and am thrilled with Dr. Peery. His staff is gracious and called promptly with lab results and appointment inquiries. Dr. Peery was compassionate and thorough when addressing my concerns and problem. He not only provided interim treatment but quickly established a plan to determine diagnosis for long-term solutions. I felt valued and listened to...which meant a lot to me when dealing with a chronic condition. My only regret is I didn't seek help, ask for a referral, or get myself to him sooner! read more

Dr. Peckham and her team are incredible. I've never needed any type of therapy before but this team is amazing. I was given a form from my job that had to be turned in by "end of business day tomorrow or you wont have any benefits." Dr. Peckham worked on this paper between seeing her patients, so I could have it turned in on time. I've never seen or heard of a doctor who would go out of her way to make sure I didn't lose my benefits. II've been in the medical field for years and never seen anything like it. Since my incident, I've been angry. I went from being a nurse manager over 118 staff and 135 patients to being restricted from driving and working. MY experience was horrible... I ended up reporting them to the Texas state board and HHS.gov for HIPPA violations. In personal experience they refused to provide my CPAP script and to pawn me on their in house/associated DME. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF HIPPA AND AGAINST THE LAW. Individuals have a right to access PHI in a "designated record set." A "designated record set" is defined at 45 CFR 164.501 as a group of records maintained by or for a covered entity that comprises the: Medical records and billing records about individuals maintained by or for a covered health care provider; Your prescription is part of your medical records and as such you are entitled to it, refusing to provide a copy of your script to you is a violation of HIPPA. PLEASE REPORT ALL OTHER. VIOLATIONS TO HHS HIPPA complaints AND TEXAS STATE MEDICAL BOARD. It was a fight to get the correct script and were treated rudely beyond measure and were asked to leave the office simply for asking for our script and a clear explanation of the billing. To make matters worse my wife had to call a year later to have a copy of my script for travel purposes and the office manager refused ...and I don't just mean refused I mean he was a nasty, belligerent and unprofessional over the phone with my wife. We had to get our benefits coordinator involved to get our records released. Records requests from other medical professionals and DMEs have been delayed as they have been told "He is not a patient, not that I am no longer a patient, just "Not a patient here." I have learned from this. Get your sleep study and script and bring it to your primary. They can deal with all other concerns (maintaining your cpap or Bipap machine and verification of script for supplies) they are just as qualified to do so and should not demean you or your family in the process. read more

I've had migraines as long as I can remember. I've tried and tried and tried to find something that would prevent the suckers (for they SUCK). Dr. Couch listed to all the things I've tried, and suggested something similar to what I tried before -- and explained why he was thinking of that fix. It worked! He's very thorough, but he won't hold your hand to get all the information out of you. If you see him (or any doctor, really), take a note with current and past meds/treatments, and normal + new symptoms. You'll get the best help that way. The infusion staff, I've got to say, are some of my favorite med people. I have to see them once a week or so, and it's _fun_ -- which is not something I ever thought I'd say about a process that involves needles. So. Ask your PCP for a referral. It's going to take a while to get in, because they are super duper busy. You'll be glad you did, though -- these folks gsd. read more

I saw Dr. Horvit twice in 2017, and appreciated his non-rushed manner and his attentiveness to my concerns. No complaints about him or his bedside manner whatsoever. His nurse is also very friendly and informative. My problem with this practice is the administration and the website stating patients need to arrive 30 minutes early, because when I did so, the staff acted as if this was completely unnecessary. When I was first contacted by CTNC to schedule my appointment, I was told to fill out new patient paperwork online and that I needed to arrive 30 minutes early. Also, when I visited the practice's website, I read the verbatim text: "We are better prepared for your visit when you arrive at least 30 minutes early with your forms already filled out. This will allow ample time for our staff to enter your medical history, medications and insurance information into our electronic medical record before your appointment. If you do not arrive 30 minutes early with your forms already filled out then we may not be able to see you in a timely manner and, in some instances, may have to reschedule your appointment.​" ​ Naturally, I completed all my paperwork at home and arrived at 1:30 for my 2pm appointment. The man who assisted me at the front desk commented on how I was extremely early and seemed surprised I had my paperwork in-hand. I explained the instructions given on the website, and he shot back with, "Well I called you to confirm your appointment was for 2:00." It made me feel like I was crazy, or had done something wrong. Aside from the confusion I felt after this exchange, I was then left with an hour and a half wait to see Dr. Horvit. This is the longest I have ever waited to see any doctor. I was not called back until 2:40, and Dr. Horvit came in at 3:00. I understand that a wait is expected to see the doctor, but with the seemingly unnecessary extra 30 minutes I waited, it seemed painfully long. None of the staff acknowledged my wait time. I emailed the practice administrator, Vernon Christie, about my experience, and suggested that either the "30 minutes early" policy be changed or that the very specific instructions from the website be removed, since it doesn't seem to matter. I sent the email on June 21 and received an out-of-office response. It stated Mr. Christie was due back June 26, but I never received a response. Not that I asked for one, but it would have been nice. read more

don't get me wrong. we like the dr well enough. and the nurse practitioner is fantastic. but the front desk staff is rude and unhelpful. we were there the other day, and a man came in shortly after we arrived with a simple question. he wanted to know if they had received his medical records so that he could set his appointment up. the receptionist flat told him that wasn't her job and if he wanted to wait she'd ask someone to look when she got the chance. so he sat and waited. and she sat at her desk twiddling her thumbs. didn't ask anyone, didn't call anyone, just sat there. finally he got up and told her that he was just going to find another neurologist because that office obviously wasn't interested in his patronag. I wonder if the drs know thier front staff is causing loss of customers in such a rude way. she was rude to us too read more

I've been a patient here for about 4 years, and only go in once a year. I have been trying to call to schedule an appointment for over a week and can't get through. I've left messages with no response. I finally selected the 'doctor' line and got through to someone. She was completely indifferent to the issues I've been having getting ahold of them. No apology, nothing. Then she tells me the next available appointment is 2 months out. I saw Dr. Terry Peery for sleep apnea evaluation. During the initial appointment, Dr Peery was extremely thorough in his review of my symptoms. He sent me to have a sleep study (which was a pleasant experience). In my follow up post sleep study, Dr Peery explained I had very severe sleep apnea. He was thorough in his explanation and reviewed my study results in a way that was understandable. I got a CPAP machine - works great and I haven't felt better with n years! I saw Dr. Peery for sleep apnea and he was extremely thorough in explaining what sleep apnea is and the treatment options. He has an excellent bedside manner and highly recommend him. After being diagnosed, I've being treated with CPAP and had an excellent experience with Jennifer, who set me up with the CPAP. I had an extremely high deductible and I was going to have to pay all of it out of pocket so she provided a sample mask at no charge and helped me with other supplies as well. They are caring and have gone out of their way to provide care above and beyond what I expected. I highly recommend Dr. Peery and his practice. read more

Horrible place! Avoid at all costs! After being diagnosed with sleep apnea I called Jennifer 5 times to schedule appointment for device. When doctor Perry's nurse followed up she could not help and told me to call office manager, called 3 times and left messages. They never called me back until I stopped payment on bill...am requesting medical records so I can go elsewhere! I can't warn you enough! Office refuses to return my phone calls, answers my calls and hangs up once they know who it is, (this has happened TWICE) and harasses me with threats of sending my bill to collections. TERRIBLE CARE!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!!!! It makes me so sad that neurological issues do not seem to be these people's highest priority when epilepsy can control your life. Do not see Dr. Peery about anxiety medications . He does not know what on earth he is doing... :( Also messed up my anxiety medication and made my anxiety worse- which led me to more medical treatment. I saw Dr Adam Horvit several years ago for pre op testing prior to carpal tunnel surgery, and liked him. I was shocked when I called for an appointment following a concussion , to be told the practice doesn't see auto accident patients. They don't want to get involved with third party insurers. I Td her that I have health insurance through my employer, was told it makes no difference. read more
