I had a poor experience here. It took a couple of days to get in contact with anyone. I was trying to set up a primary dr, they only had nurse practitioners which is fine but it took a month to see anyone, I said my worry is that if I have a concern I wont get in for the future in time. I chose to do a virtual to get seen earlier. I had blood work called in and had no follow up emails to know which lab I was suppose to go to. A pain to try and figure it out since they don't answer their phone lines. Then when I went to schedule my bloodwork follow up appointment they said my NP only works on Fridays (which should have been stated up front). I had to switch to a new practitioner and then she left the practice the same month. I was told I needed to re-do my appointment to discuss my bloodwork and get the iron IV I needed for low ferritin. Just an overall frustrating experience that should have been simple. The office was very dead when I was there too, I saw no other patients so I don't know why it isn't a smoother experience. read more

This review is for Wiseman Family Practice in general and not just the Georgetown location. It markets itself as providing holistic, functional medicine type of care, but it doesn't really feel like it. It feels more conventional. Most of the providers are Nurse Practitioners. Some of them are really great and some of them are not so great. My first NP (located in Cedar Park) was great. She was thorough. When I had an urgent issue, I saw another NP in Cedar Park, who when I asked her questions seemed to not know the answers. She followed up with me several days after my appointment when I would've appreciated feedback sooner (I got results from the patient portal immediately though). When another (third) NP (in Georgetown) was going over my bloodwork, I had a question about my liver enzymes and why they were elevated. They said they don't know why but that we could re-test in a few months to see what it looked like. I did a Google search to find that my liver enzyme ratio indicated MASLD. After that, I no longer trusted this practice and looked for a primary care physician in another practice. read more

Wow, some really terrible front desk staff. Morning of 2/17 experienced incompetence at its finest. The two ladies at the front were not only completely disorganized but also extremely rude. Each patient who dealt with them seemed to have the same experience with these 2. Imagine being snapped at repeatedly because of YOUR faulty system and lack of communication. Many years ago, when Dr. Jeremy Wiseman first joined the Cedar Park Practice started by his father, he was a very helpful doctor, passionate about integrative medicine. Back then it was a great practice! The downward slide started when young Dr Jeremy kept opening new offices all over Austin and vicinity, then moved his location to Westlake. Original patients that were the backbone of the original Cedar Park practice were shifted around from provider to provider, with a lack of experience in the integrative medicine the practice was founded upon. Meagen Wempe, was an outstanding health care provider at the original CP location, but she left the practice. Wiseman would have been Wise to provide every incentive to retain her as a provider and hire others like her to maintain quality of care. Dr Jeremy turns off his video on telemedicine appointments so you cannot see him during your appointment, which is very impersonal and unsettling. I've never experienced this with any other doctor or health care provider. His demeanor is also clearly bored and disinterested. I used to love Wiseman Family Practice. Such a shame to see it tank. The whole place is a mess now. Quality of care is not worth a visit. read more

Compliment where due: Selma Vllasi White (now @ South location) is amazing. Kind, thorough, collaborative and for a long period of time worth the flaming hoops of fire, exorbitant wait times and crap support staff it took to get to her. I'm fine to wait for an appointment for one of the top providers in town and I don't expect a 10 minute callback from anyone, ever. That being said, no person EVER answers a phone live at ANY Wiseman location any longer EVER. NO option on the phone tree diverts to a human, and DO NOT believe the outgoing message that a message left will be picked up w/in 30 min and you will recieve a same day callback for ANY reason. YOU WILL NOT. #FACT. The directive is to send a portal message they'll also ignore for days if you get a response at all. I've been a patient here for over 10 years. Something shifted a few years ago and it's an absolute $h@%$how top to bottom since. And don't think Wiseman Family Practice leadership are unaware of the client service issues mentioned all throughout these reviews. I've spoken to office manager Diana @ CP several times and Wiseman himself. (Read the reviews for the other locations as well.) They know. They either can't, or don't care to improve things. Last year August I had an appt with them. they make you do a meet and greet before being seen by them so had to make another appt. I approved 7:23am for a 8:10 appt for meet and greet. At 8:01 am they call me. Not come see me but call me even though I am there to cancel my appt due to doctor took the day off On their website they say walk ins welcome so I ask to see another doctor since this is simply a meet and greet. I was flat out told no, not for you. I left and haven't been back since. Piss poor service. disrespectful and ultimately discriminating against me. I've been with WFP for over 15 years and I'm finally at my wits end with them. I feel bad for the providers as most of them seem to care but the management is horrendous! I have had endless billing issues with their office, even sending me to collections when I asked for MONTHS on end if they billed my secondary. Finally they figured it out and my secondary paid right away. Now the same issue again and they don't respond to my text messages. I had a telehealth visit today and it would not let me login for the appointment without paying a copay I don't owe. I called the office and of course had to leave a VM in the middle of business hours, sent a message and nothing. I'm sure I will not receive a refund for the copay I was charged today, nor will they bill my outstanding balance to my secondary. Today was last appointment with them. Too many years of unprofessionalism & I cannot imagine how disappointed Dr. Richard Wiseman must be to see what his clinic has become. read more

My family and I have been going here for years. We chose them because of it being a holistic and integrative practice. They had great practitioners who thought outside the box, worked hard to figure out a complex patient, listened to you, did extra tests based on symptoms etc. the short of it it's long gone!! Sadly. Use it as a regular conventional pcp. Quick 15 min visits. mA's with bad attitudes, phone calls are never picked up, just sadly gone downhill. It's about the $$$ lots of clinics and turnovers crazy. New faces each time etc. so disappointed. My daughter is going through a lot now, they do mediocre average tests and they have given up on her. They just don't care anymore. I'm in the health care field. I know what am talking about. I know when a practice starts to care about the bottom line ($) more than people. Need I say more? read more

I highly recommend Wiseman Family Practice in Cedar Park! Everyone is friendly and helpful. I especially want to mention Sherry Fulmer, FNP-C as my PCP; she is an advocate for me, great listener, and I feel I'm being cared for very well. Highly recommend! I also see Jennifer Seay, LAc for acupuncture here and I really enjoy seeing her whenever I can. Absolute waste of time. I www need to get an appointment with the homeopathy doctor that's advertised in their website as one of their doctors. After trying to schedule onngot the first appointment online, the first call I received to confirm the appointment was after 8 days. That too i was told I cannot get appointment directly to the doctor of my preefernce without meeting a nurse practitioner and paying $50 registration fee. I still went with it. On the day of the appointment the nurse practitioner got the details, and when I said I'm interested in meeting the homeopathy doctor she menttioned that's a tootally different practice and I need a separate appointment for that. This used to be a good family practice. I'm sad to say it no longer is even good. You cannot reach anyone over the phone. The follow up that should happen, does not. I had a severe uti that went untreated because of this. After that I have had many other bad experiences and I'm done. Don't expect to ever be able to see a doctor or speak to anyone on the phone. It's sad, but today was my last visit after being with this practice for decades. Today I've been waiting 2 hours to get my son's strep prescription sent to the pharmacy, and he's feeling miserable. MONEY TRAP!!! I spent $390 to be onboarded to their practice. This included a $75 fee to process new patient paperwork for my husband and I. And an additional $180 for two new patient telehealth appointments. These appointments were get to know you appointments that took aprox 5-10 minutes a piece. We had to wait over 3 months for our Well Checks. The well checks themselves were covered 100% by insurance, however the follow-up appointments to review the blood work were an additional $67.89 for each appointment. I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN SICK! This is not the way to treat NEW families. I feel like I've been scammed! We have advised the practice that we will NOT be going back! AVOID NOTE: I edited this review to add that I'm a TEXAS Native. I was seeing a nurse practitioner here for 2 years when she abruptly left without any notice. I then saw another nurse practitioner for 5 years and she also just left the practice without notice. I find it unprofessional of the practice to not notify their patients that their caregivers are leaving. I was given the runaround for three weeks while I tried to make an appointment and was finally told she was leaving the practice the next day. I will often get a letter notifying me that some podiatrist or dermatologist I saw just once 7 years ago is leaving their practice, so it's strange that while I am currently under the care of someone for my general health, they wouldn't give me any heads up. Now that I have found a new provider, I have come to find that she had me on several medications I did not need, which were giving me terrible side effects. She also was ordering unnecessary blood tests 4-5 times a year. She would always throw drugs and supplements at any issue and misdiagnosed me with several ailments that I actually do not have. I do not recommend anyone put their health into the hands of anyone at this practice. Furthermore, the office staff could not possibly be any more rude. And the office decor is filled with mismatched Knick knacks and they have a horrible film promoting medical quackery playing on a loop in the waiting room. Try having a burning fire UTI and the prescription somehow does not go to the pharmacy. It's a Saturday, so I have paid a Saturday appointment premium. Given it's weekend, the staff is unreachable. No prescription for the UTI on Monday-they claim they have sent it. So after back and forth, it's Tuesday when I get the antibiotic. So I my Saturday premium back, via email. No response. Eventually, someone calls me from billing and make a point I have dues. I ask about my Saturday premium refund and this person gets back to me later saying it will be refunded. Again, whoever is at fault here- get a damn uti and land in similar situation like me- then you'll want to fix this problem. Only the wearer of the shoe knows where it pinches. read more

This morning I realized I was almost out of a compounded daily medication, and called to see if I could have it refilled, hopefully sometime in the near future. I really thought I'd have to run out, since it's Saturday morning. I connected with their voice mail, left a message, and got a call back within about a minute. The person who helped me couldn't have been more pleasant, totally understood the situation, and took my information for the nurse to have the Rx refilled. We been going to wiseman family practice for 3 years & we love Selma. We've seen a few other nurse practitioners here & there, but Selma is the best. She & the other staff really listen to any issues you may have. We've been seen at the downtown Austin & Cedar Park offices. We will now be following Selma to the new location further west. It's worth the extra drive to see her. The only nurse practitioner I'd avoid like the plague is Audrey at cedar park. She was rude and short with my little one & myself. We had booked (2) 15 min appts back to back and she rushed us out of there in under 5 mins total. read more

It is incredibly hard to get an appointment with this practice. I never see the same providers because I get an appointment with who is available. In 4 months I was seen by 3 different providers. When you get labs done or send a message in the patient portal it takes an extended amount of time for the provider to get back to you. For example: I got an ultrasound for my gallbladder and it took forever for the provider to tell me my results. Then, no follow up. 3/31/22 I made an appt online for 9 am. The next morning I saw it was a tele-visit and I panicked because I thought I made a mistake when booking the appt. The office called me back and said that due to my symptoms I had to have a tele-visit. I had a sore throat, fluid in one ear and ear pain. They offered to do a throat swab in the parking lot. I explained that I needed someone to look in my ear with an otoscope. They stated that they have high risk patients and anyone with covid symptoms can't be seen in the office. I took a rapid test at home and was told that due to the false negatives it was not good enough. I spoke with the office manager and she confirmed that Dr. Wiseman has not changed their protocols for patients with covid symptoms, which basically mimic any illness. Wiseman Family Practice called me back and offered an appt at 1:30 and I declined since I was able to get an appt at 9:40 somewhere else. At the other providers office I had a strep test, rapid covid test and a rapid flu test. All negative. The provider looked in my ear and said that I had one of the worst ear infections she had seen in a long time, prescribed antibiotics and a referral for an ENT. An ear infection can not be diagnosed from a tele-visit. I am willing to wear a mask to my appointments as I have symptoms and I am clearly sick. However, Travis County is currently in the low-risk category for the CDC, under which does not recommend masking for anyone. So for a MEDICAL provider to refuse service to a patient because they may or may not have covid is ridiculous. We are past the 2 year mark with Covid, it is not going away and medical providers have had enough time to get their procedures in place. Wiseman Family Practice doesn't even have covid tests in their office so for them to be so frantic it doesn't make sense. They have no idea if any of their patients have covid or not. If a patient tested positive then the provider would know they have been exposed. When I took my daughter in 2 weeks ago they did a rapid swab for strep and said that she should get a covid test before returning to school. Needless to say, I'm done. I can't accept that they have covid protocols in place that cause them to refuse care to patients that need to be seen. read more

I wanted to love this practice as I was excited about integrative health care options. I transferred from another local doctor's office and diligently had my recent lab work and medical file transferred well before my appointment. Once at my appointment, my doctor requested that I get all of the lab work done that I had just had done a month prior. I informed her that I already had this lab work done but she was unaware as the administration didn't add it into my file. She continued to fill out a lab slip and told me to come back in for a second appointment to go over results. My first appointment was $190 and a useless endeavor. I decided not to continue my care. I would not normally take the time to write a review over this seemingly standard healthcare practice of shuffling people in and soaking them for as much money as possible, but this morning--I changed my mind. My elderly mother, who is also a patient there, called the office to inquire about a bill that she didn't understand. Bernice returned by mother's message from yesterday and she YELLED at my mother, explaining that she was trying to be nice but it was not Wiseman clinic's fault about her insurance co-pays and that she had over 300 calls to make today. Who yells at an elderly person? This reaction is unnecessary and rude and Bernice has no place in dealing with the sick and elderly. Their doctors MAY be okay but the administration there is so unbelievably laughable that it is not worth the care. read more

Frauds. They took advantage of someone desperate to find an integrative physician or medical office that takes insurance for medicine. They said my insurance wouod be accepted, which is why I went with them. They charged me out of pocket pricing anyway. They also sent in the wrong dosage to the pharmacy and haven't fixed it. I've been waiting a long time for them to act of their promise of fixing both errors. They won't answer back when I received yet another bill and the script still not corrected. read more

Avoid this practice. Such a disappointment. I have attended the Westlake office.. and attempted several times to get transferred to another office.. thinking that they must be better. ( no one returns my calls or messages) My experience with the westlake office has been impersonal at the best.. Tests forgotten, and then ordered but not mentioned to me. Another occassion I was two have two tests done, I arrive at the lab, and only one was ordered. My annual physical exam was not done ( literally I have not had a physical exam of my female parts in two years ??? what? I feel like as a client I am treated as an inconvenience. IN my last appointment the blood pressure they recorded was high for me.. I mentioned how shocked I was, and the asisstant said, oh, we should do one with the other machine then. And of course, it was never addressed. I took my own blood pressure at home and for days afterward... fine. If my blood pressure had been what they recorded, that should not have been ignored! I was recommended to Wiseman Family Practice 10 years ago by a friend who was also a patient there. My health issues were complex and I really needed a physician who could think outside the box. But after seeing him for a few years and not feeling better, I complained to Dr. Jeremy that I'd been seeing him for xx years and wasn't feeling better and he snapped back, "I have no idea what's wrong with you." Things just went south after that. My best guess is he thought I was a hypochondriac, and he really didn't like to be criticized. I don't have the money to waste on "hypochondriac" or attention-getting doctor visits, for one thing. If I was a hypochondriac or an attention-getter I would have moved on to someone more compassionate. But I stayed on as a patient because their Cedar Park office was 3 minutes from my house which was super convenient, especially when not feeling well, and except for 1 more visit with Dr. Jeremy I only saw nurses. The last visit I had with Dr. Jeremy was in 2022 and was my last-ditch effort to get some answers. I was feeling so bad but made myself drive out to see him at the Westlake office where he ended up working at then. I don't remember his exact response but he said something along the lines of there wasn't enough time to figure me out in one visit and he didn't offer any kind of diagnosis plan or health recommendations (basically blowing me off) but he said he would sign paperwork for me if I needed to take time off work. I did end up having to take a few weeks off work. At that visit it was my idea to have bloodwork done to look at Epstein-Barr Virus, which one of his nurses had ordered another time, and it looks like I have a chronic EBV infection. I'm now at the point where I can hardly do anything and I HAD to seek a doctor. I finally found another physician and after I got my last med refilled for a 6-month supply, I left. Just around the time Dr. Jeremy was switching to concierge service. I would not recommend. read more

They have no idea who you are, they NEVER answer the phone and worst of all...if you schedule a televisit like I did today for my son...the provider simple didn't show up to the appointment. We are still waiting after 45 minutes. We've called all the offices, sent messages in the patient portal but no one answers the phone nor has anyone responded. In a nutshell, I have waited 6 months for an appointment due to two last minute cancellations. After seeing another practitioner, I did not receive requested testing, and the office did not verify or file with my insurance. When calling the office, it's almost impossible to speak to any department on the phone due to excessive wait times. For more detailed information concerning my experience please read below. I've been a patient as wiseman since 2017, and the professionality of the practice, including front desk services, billing, and appointments continue to go downhill. I have waited 2-3 months for each appointment with a nurse practitioner, and twice now I have received last minute cancellation notices from Linda Siebert. When trying to reschedule, I'm told the next available telemedicine appointment is also months in advance. Not only have I never had a healthcare provider cancel so many appointments, but I've never experienced a practice that was unwilling to compensate for the time lost by prioritizing patient appointments which they themselves have canceled. In the meantime, I was able to see another nurse practitioner, but she did not provide the level of care I was expecting. She was hesitant to schedule baseline bloodwork or testing because of the pandemic. I am fully vaccinated, and I suffer from chronic conditions, which require monitoring. In addition, I was exposed to Lyme's Disease, and part of the intent of the appointment was to check for continued infection. After receiving the results of the bloodwork, I realized that not all of my previously routine bloodwork had been ordered. This may be at the prescribers discretion, but it's unclear to me why this was not discussed, and my followup appointment was then canceled after receiving a message that I would need a referral to a specialist. I was previously seeing a nurse practitioner who left the practice, and thus far, I have not found an adequate provider to replace her expertise and care, and there seems to be a clear gap in levels of care between practitioners. In addition, the billing department did not verify my insurance prior to or after the appointment, and billed me directly. It's unclear if this is due to the fact that this was a telemedicine appointment and no longer part of the check in process. There is no option to enter insurance information on the patient portal, but you can enter your credit card. Regardless, I am disappointed in the overall service, and lack of apparent interest in a patients well being or medical care, when this is precisely the service Wiseman is supposed to be providing. read more

I *really* wanted to love this practice and make it my doctor's office for my entire family. BOTTOM LINE: Unfortunately the way this practice is run puts business profits and their time above the patients. Patients are expected to rearrange our schedules to accommodate doctors, wait an hour to see a doctor who leaves the room for extended time as soon as they welcome you and buy the 'Wiseman Family Practice' brand of supplements without a single 'hello' from the receptionist. TLDR VERSION: When making an appointment you must do so online. If you call there is always a small wait to talk to someone on the phone- that's not a problem. Still the desk staff reenforce the fact that their "phone lines are a nightmare"(quoted verbatim) and you should book online/in app and do not try calling them. It's clear they don't want to talk to you if they don't have to. There's a nice waiting room with comfortable chairs and a video on 'the evils of sugar' -which I agree with- playing complete with a sinister soundtrack behind it to impress upon viewer the way refined sugars are incorporated into our diets. The front desk is protected by two large, opaque glass windows that are primarily kept closed. On the right hand side one is left cracked so you can approach but it's pretty clear the desk staff don't want interaction with you unless there is some sort of issue that cannot be handled on the digital kiosk. This means that if your doctor is running late there's no one to let you know unless you ask. Patients are forced to wait in limbo or approach the cracked window to ask about their appointment. I prefer someone saying 'hello' and letting you know that you are checked in, etc. I like feeling taken care of at the doctor and like my time matters- even if it's simply getting an acknowledge of my presence. Their method for check-in is cold and impersonal. Still, every office has their own process and I'm willing to forgive it if the system works. It should mean things are moving along and streamline the process of being seen- unfortunately this process falls apart if doctors are behind or their patient load is too high which is a large problem at this clinic. I've had three appointments and 2/3 have had their times changed to another day as the nurse/ doctor/ practitioner I needed to see suddenly became unavailable. I am always asked to change to an 8am appointment which conflicts with work/child care arrangements, etc. If you cannot change then you'll just have to wait till the next time they are available- which could means a significant delay in treatment. This has happened to me twice out of three appointments. Unfortunately I have also had issues with the wait time. I had an appointment at 8:15 and I arrived a few minutes early at 8:10. I waited to see the practitioner for 20 minutes past my appointment time before I approached the window to ask. I was told they were "running late". That's fine- I didn't mind waiting a bit. Waiting at the doctor's office isn't uncommon these days. I waited until I was called back at around 8:45. The practitioner greeted me and then told me that they had to "check on something". They then left for room. I waiting another 10+ minutes and at 8:55- 45 minutes after my appointment time and close to an hour of waiting, I decided to leave. I had already juggled times to accommodate the doctor and make this appointment work. I had child care in place and work to do. There was no way I could relax for an appointment at this point and with travel time I would have to leave in 30 minutes. I didn't anticipate this appointment to take two hours complete and didn't plan to be absent from my life for that amount of time. On my drive home the doctor did call to give a 'professional' apology- I appreciate it but I don't get my time back and I didn't get any treatment. Wiseman Family Practice puts their time over yours and if you want to be seen there you will have to accommodate them. This is truly not an issue I want to have to continue to struggle with- especially when they are suppose to be helping me heal, not adding more stress. I wish the lovely people I've met there luck with their careers and hope they eventually find a practice (whether their own or somewhere else) that values their patients as much or more than their bottom line. read more

Met Dr. Jeremy Wiseman many years ago for a yearly physical. Loved the holistic approach and push for good nutrition and supplements as opposed to just writing prescriptions. For that reason, my entire family of five went there for many years; then things changed. The staff is horrible. They have a "portal" system that is great in theory, but never works properly. It is set to allow ease of online appointments, delivery of lab results, etc. But the portal will work one time, then crash. So you go back to the staff to have it reset, only for it not to work again. I can't count how many times lab orders were not put in, return phone calls were not made; continued terrible communication. Put up with it for too long due to our love of the idea of the practice. I can only guess they have gotten too big to be efficient or care. Good luck, but I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

I've been a patient of Wiseman Family Practice for many years. Recently, I had a rather severe health situation develop, and needed immediate help. Sherry Fulmer, PA (Cedar Park office) was absolutely terrific over these last several weeks. I appeciated her holistic approach and urgency when assessing my case, particularly when my situation began to get complicated and deteriorate. She was fully engaged with my situation, and eventually determined that my condition required specialists to engage as well. When I was unable to schedule the appropriate specialists quickly, Ms. Fulmer leveraged her network to consult with, and eventually find a way to expedite and coordinate my case with the proper specialists. Throughout the process, Ms. Fulmer communicated with me constantly via their portal, while working potential solutions behind the scenes with the doctors inside and outside of her practice. I am ever so grateful for Ms. Fulmer's caring attitude and professional focus during a difficult situation. read more
