Poor Experience - Won't Be Returning Took our dog in for a routine visit, but the whole appointment felt rushed. The vet tech was unprofessional and gave no explanation about what was happening. Our dog was dragged to the back and returned with scratches on his face. When we called afterward, we were told it was from a muzzle supposedly used on previous visits--which is simply not true. We have gone to Central Valley on and off with our pups for several years. They are a drive for us so sometimes in the past we have gone to Whitefish Animal hospital. Actually many times to Whitefish. Central Valley staff are always professional and get you in quickly. In contrast Whitefish Animal hospital- I call them from time to time as I did today. The lady on the phone said we have you as inactive....which is weird since I have gone to them off and on for years...I said I go back and forth with Central Valley. Her suggestion, "We are two weeks out you you should go to Central." When I called Central Valley they are getting me in next day. Central Valley has my business from now on. read more

I've been going to Central Valley Animal Hospital for over 20 years, and I have had nothing but positive experiences. Dr. Sherrill goes above and beyond for her clients and their pets. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. Through the years, some of my animals have been easier to deal with than others. The patience of Dr. Sherrill and her staff is unwavering. They do their best to ensure both animal and owner are as comfortable as possible. Taylor, a vet tech, has gone above and beyond with my current dog, taking extra time to get him comfortable enough to get on the scale on his own (he is over 100lbs), and this extra time has made him more comfortable being in the facility in general. Both Dr. Sherrill and her staff also suggested I bring my dog by for friendly visits so that he doesn't associate going there with getting vaccinations or other not-so-fun procedures. These extra visits have made a big difference, and my dog now gets excited when we get in the parking lot because of the friendly staff and extra treats. I highly recommend Central Valley, and I'm beyond appreciative for everything they have done for me and my fur kids through the years. read more

I read one review providing a one-star review and complaining about the price (yes, when you say you're not complaining because of the price, you're complaining because of the price). There are indeed a number of great options in the Kalispell area so I wish the person from Rhode Island (assuming they are now in the Kalispell area) good luck. My Mother has been using Central Valley for most of the time she has lived in the area and solely since moving to Kalispell (previously she used a great vet at Columbia Falls). They have been responsive and attentive to my Mother's dogs and also help my Mother participate in the Morris Animal Foundation program for canine cancer study. Are they "expensive", I guess maybe so. But I do not find it outside of the expected range and I know the quality of service is high. I would recommend them. read more

We have two dogs, a French Bulldog and an English Bulldog that we take to Central Valley Animal Hospital. We have been going for 18 months and I've never been happier with a Vet office. The office is clean (doesn't have a smell), the staff is friendly and helpful, yet professional. The Vet's take their time with my dogs. Making sure they get the best care. TheMost importantly I have never felt the office is pushy with services. I always leave Central Valley Animal Hospital feeling my dogs are getting excellent care. I recommend them to any one who needs a Vet. April 3, 2020 I just wanted to let everyone know how well Central Valley Animal Hospital is handling the Covid-19 situation. I've had to go in twice since the pandemic started. Both times I've felt my safety from the virus was their upmost concern but also the safety of the staff. Well done Central Valley. Overpriced for the services you receive. Charged me $60 for examining my cat for approximately 5 minutes of The vet did not check the cats temperature, ears, eyes or anything beyond a heartbeat. Plenty of other options in the area. After following up further with the owner the vets will not examine a cat that is not cooperative, but you are still charged a full visit. My concern here wasn't the money but their comfort level with providing such a minimal exam on a wellness checkup. It was my cats first time at a vet in several years and I left not knowing whether my cat was actually in good health or not. Owners resolution to this was to simply recommend I find another vet. read more

Our Golden Retriever picked up a bacterial infection which turned into a very large abscess in just over a day. I took her the next morning where Dr. Sherrill examined and diagnosed in short time. She was in surgery that afternoon and home by evening. Dr. Sherrill is very thorough, an excellent communicator and a highly skilled veterinarian. Wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else in the valley! When we moved over here 5 years ago I searched out a vet before I found doctors for my husband and I. Of all the vets I visited, Central Valley by far has the friendliest, cleanest and most knowledgeable staff in the valley. Thankfully I found them before we needed them...a month later our GSD had an "argument with a snag" and impaled herself in the chest. We called and rushed her in at about 9AM on a weekday. She was immediately rushed into surgery and came out great. We have taken our 2 dogs here for every thing large or small, cough to emergencies. They have always been terrific to us and our fur kids. If you value your pets and want what's best....go to Central Valley Animal Hospital. read more

Saw the first vet when bringing my beloved cocker in and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Hospitalized for 2 days, basically told he needed IV fluids and chances were good for a recovery since he was good the day before. She shared with me about plans for a diet change. After the first day in the hospital, told he needed to have better interest in food and water but he was licking at the food so moving in the right direction, hospitalization recommended for another night. Next day told I had to wait until 1 pm to speak to the vet as they were in surgery. I showed up at that time only to speak to a different vet and she immediately sat me down and said, " Max has several significant issues going on." I knew it was the end right then. Spent the whole afternoon trying to make sure it was the right thing to do. Max would have been 14 in 4 days. My daughter asked me to bring his lifelong companion Haley to say goodbye, a 16 yr old cocker. I was able to get Max to drink a fine amount of water and eat the food they could not get him to eat out of my hand. That didn't seem to phase her decision of explaining he most likely would end up with diabetes and maybe there was an underlying condition. I decided for more bloodwork to confirm his demise. She confirmed that. I did not have a good feeling going forward. She also told me most pet owners call that decision too late. I wished I had asked to bring on another vet for another opinion. The second vet was less than compassionate and the first vet didn't give me a proper handoff to let me know she would no longer be handling my dog's care. It was over the top harder than I ever thought. I did not have a longstanding relationship with them as I am from the Twin Cities. My best advice is to get to know your vet before your beloved pets get old. read more

My first experience with this animal hospital is not good. I called a few weeks ago to see if they did ultra sounds on dogs and was told that yes they did. I scheduled my dogs in one for a check up and one for an ultra sound. They told me they would get the records from my prior vet. I go today for the appointment and was told that no they do not do ultra sounds and that the closest place would be Missoula (this is wrong info as Whitefish Animal Hospital does ultra sounds) The reason I was leaving WF Animal Hospital was because I could not go in with my dogs and was told I could at Central...I understand that things change because of COVID but to be told that they do ultra sounds when they don't is wrong. So, then I asked them to just see Lucy but then Central told me they failed to get records from WF Animal Hospital. Three Strikes your out for this animal hospital...after all that I did not feel comfortable with the level of treatment for my dogs...totally felt like they drop the ball on things...and then they blame it all on an employee. Own up people, teach your employees so they give good advice, follow up on what you say your going to do. I wasted my whole morning for nothing. Going back to Whitefish Animal Hospital...still can't go in with my dogs but at least they know what they are doing there. read more

Absolutely the best small animal vet clinic around. Been going there for years as did my parents. So so helpful and love pets! The atmosphere is wonderful.
