The dispatcher was helpful and got me set up for the delivery. I had to pay a little extra since it was such a small load but the convenience factor was worth it to me. I was scheduled for a 10am delivery and that morning they called me and said they can get a truck to me an hour earlier so I went for it. The truck arrived early and the driver was awesome. Unfortunately the reason for the one star came in during the unloading process. The truck was over 1/4 yard short. The driver told me to call the dispatcher and tell them I was shorted, so I did. The dispatcher told me it was "highly doubtful that they shorted me because the load was weighed". Well I was staring at the forms that were not full. I asked a friend to check my calculations and he came up with 1.25 yards (the pad was 8'2" x 14'2" x 3 1/2"). I told the dispatcher who was still on the phone that I'm definitely short and his only solution was to charge me for another full yard! They were not willing to make the shortage right. Concrete isn't like being a couple boards short, it's time sensitive! I sent the driver on his way and drove to Lowe's, I was short exactly five 80 pound bags of concrete. In other words, 400 pounds short! Viking had no problem cashing my check and didn't care that they shorted me. The driver told me that they had delivered 250 yards that morning to an apartment complex project, I'm suspecting that they did weigh the concrete out, but my delivery was the left over from that job and it probably used more that they anticipated for that truck. I'm guessing this because the aggregate in the mix was huge for a shed pad (which I told the original dispatcher what I needed the mix for). I purposely ordered extra yardage to ensure I wouldn't run short. This is terrible customer service, no attempt was made to make their shortage right. No more business with this company for me....
