I had an older watch that quit working. Thought it was probably the battery. Took into Central Watch and they said the movement was bad and that it would cost more to replace the movement than an new watch. They were very accommodating about the process and helpful. They are a substantial change for the positive from the previous owner who was abrupt, unfriendly and a poor businessman. I readily recommend the current operation if you have a watch or clock problem. They did not charge me for my evaluation and I did offer to pay. read more

I have done business with Ambrose for years. He repairs most MECHANICAL clocks and watches (i.e. no battery). I got a quote from an Omega service center to repair a 1970's vintage automatic Seamaster for $1,000.00. I would need to send it off and it was expected to have a 90+ day turn-around. Ambrose did the repairs in a week and charged less than 1/3 of Omega's price. As for the people whining about being rude, Ambrose is direct and to the point, no doubt about that. But generally, anytime you tell someone "no" they consider you rude. I notice that most of the negative reviews here are from people that have quartz watches. read more

I sent my rolex watch to Rolex USA in Dallas. They came back with a repair bill of $1800 and said it would take weeks. I took it to Central, the owner helped me, I left my watch and a week later I had it back with a bill that was less than half of what Rolex USA would charge. There are a lot of people on here bad mouthing Ambrose and his business, but I can assure you, his prices are extremely fair, and his level of skill is top notch. If you want to go into a watch store and get your butt kissed, this is probably not the place for you. He is not a teddy bear, but I have been using his services for 10 years now, and so long as you don't tire kick, and beat him up on his already extremely low prices, you will have a friend and great service for life. I went in this afternoon to kindly ask for links to be taken out of my watch. Please be mindful no one else was in the store and the gentleman said it would be two hours and to leave the watch. All, I said was okay however, I do not want to leave the watch. He then all of the sudden went on rant and raised his voice stating do you think I been here all day waiting for you to come in???!!! He then stated you were not thinking at all huh?! He then said a few more comments and went to the back leaving me at the counter. I hesitated for one minute to respond and just politely said thank you for your time. I understand other duties however, it would have taken him tops 5-10minutes to size me up and again the only customer in the store. The gentleman is extremely rude and unprofessional. The owner is Incredibly rude, and offers service with a twist - horrible attitude and customer service. My experience with him was the single worst consumer experience of my life. He was rude, argumentative and downright miserable. I don't know how he stays in business with his demeanor and attitude.We actually argued there at the front counter simply because I asked him a question about the work he did on my watch. I was stunned at his response and I immediately got into an argument with him about it, which is rare. I've heard nothing but bad about him since my experience there. Reference the other review here and you'll see what I mean. I truly believe him to be a terrible person and in need of some serious help. Keep your watch or clock away from here. Customers deserve better than this. I truly look forward to the day I see the shop closed down for business. Only then will I be satisfied that the watch and clock world is a better place. read more

I walked into a stinky place to meet the rudest owner of a store I've ever met before. Every question I asked the man I could not understand his answer. I would ask what after every answer he gave me then he would yell out his answer again in an unprofessional tone in which I still couldn't make out his words. Then as I had came back to pick up my watch I pulled out my wallet to pay and he points to the sign behind him and asks me," did you not read the sign?" The sign said "cash only! No credit cards!" Like the guy before me asked how is this dude still in business baffles me to death. I would also be pleased to see this business cease or at least the ownership. And what kind of business in this day in age of the year 2015 does not take a debit card. Now I have to go back tomorrow with cash to take to this ungrateful owner to bail my poor watch out of his unfriendly possession and fight the unforgiving nonstop traffic of staples all over again thanks to not having a credit card machine. read more
