I have been going to this OB for a very very long time. To call in and be told no appointments are available for 2 months out because you're back to taking new patients is unreasonable. There is no preference for existing/long-term patients. Really absurd. read more

Tried to take care of a billing issue on behalf of a family member that doesn't speak English very well.... they do not answer their phone lines nor give you any call backs. Charged the wrong code number for a routine office visit that is not covered by insurance. Can't help but wonder if this is purposeful tactic due to the lack of care in regards to fixing the mistake. Now debt collectors have been brought in and still no word from this practice after MULTIPLE attempts to reach the office. I have been to many OBGYNs, but Dr. Hashemi is the BEST! Aside from being an expert in her field, she's professional, compassionate, caring, humble, and passionate about helping others. Her patients' safety and well-being always come first. That's the reason why she's so sought after and highly recommended. As for her office staff, she has multiple locations, and if you experience any issue with her staff, it's definitely not a reflection on the her. I started going to this clinic in 2016 but decided to leave since they never have appointments or answer their phone. Recently I decided to give them a second chance, boy was that a mistake. The staff is as unprofessional like the doctors. The medical assistant of Dr.Merriman canceled my appointment that I had been waiting for without my consent or asking. The reasoning was because they didn't receive my records from old doctor. I have been going back and forth with the staff to confirm they had it and they confirmed however a day before my appointment, magically my documents were never received and boom cancelled. I was extremely frustrated as anyone should have been, got annoyed with the assistant, and later received a call from the doctor that my behavior was unacceptable and I'm the problem haha. I will never go back to this place. They have horrible communication skills with the patients and between eachother. Looking at other reviews on google, it appears that canceling appointments without consent is their norm. So my advice, tread lightly. There are plenty other doctors in the area that would be willing to help. read more

If I regret anything in life, it's not finding Dr. Hashemi sooner so she could've been my OB for my daughter. BUT nonetheless, I found her and she's amazing! She gives you her undivided attention and truly listens to you. She takes everything (background, health history, diet, etc.) into consideration when finding the right solutions to any issues. She has greatly aided in improving my quality of life. The ENTIRE staff is incredibly kind and caring. They treat you like they know you, like family. Sadly, I will have to give Centreville OB/GYN the lowest rating due to my experience at a prenatal visit with Melanie. I had been a regular patient for my yearly checkups with positive experiences in the past, especially with Dr. Hashemi's warm bedside manner. Recently, I became pregnant and arrived to my first prenatal appointment alone, due to COVID protocols. I was feeling very depressed and alone due to lots of factors. Long story short, I have no biological family members to share my pregnancy journey with. I verbalized my feelings to Melanie, hoping that I could hear some kind, supportive words on how I'm not alone in my feelings. Instead, Melanie's first words out of her mouth were, "Well, why did you do it (get pregnant)?" WHAT!? She asked questions on whether I was forced to get pregnant. I told her no, and that all I was looking for was some peace of mind in knowing, "Am I alone in these feelings? I see so many women happy about being pregnant? Do you see anyone patients who feel like I do?" Melanie flat out said, "Most patients are happy to be pregnant." SHEESH! Absolutely no bedside manner. Not once did she attempt to empathize with my vulnerability. Melanie gave terse responses, giving off the vibe that she needed the appointment to be done ASAP. Since researching other OB/GYNs after I left this practice, I discovered that many other practices allow for one support person to be present at the first prenatal appointment. My current practice is night and day compared to Centreville OB/GYN. I get the mental support I need from ALL staff members (nurses, doctors, front desk). My current practice got to know my background around my sad feelings, truly listening rather than dismissing. It's clear that Centreville OB/GYN simply does not care for the mental well-being of their mothers-to-be. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I am not one to post reviews like this, but the staff here, MELANIE the NP in particular, are astonishingly unprofessional, rude, and flat out the worst people for a job like this. I have been working in healthcare for over five years, so I sympathize with the high-stress and high-tension a job like this requires. I also understand the frustration that comes with dealing with appointments and certain types of patients. Despite this, I believe that the patients' needs must be first priority, where bringing reassurance, consistency, liability, and compassion are crucial in allowing for the patients to have a comfortable experience. Going to the OBGYN can be one of the most stressful and frightening appointments for women, and the level of disrespect and discomfort MELANIE and the other staff provided during our attempt to make an appointment was disgusting. Not only did they hang up on my mom, but the tone of voice and attitude was not that of what should be of a so-called NP. Yes, our conversations were emotionally driven, but that is inevitable after waiting a MONTH for an appointment only for that to be cancelled from THEIR end, while being directly followed by a denial of a PROMISED rescheduled appointment. In addition, they never pick up the phone, have horrible hold times, all while they should and must be aware that gynecology is a sensitive topic. They had their reasons which were completely valid, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the patients. Hope you all learn how to separate personal and professional matters in the future. My mother has been going to Dr. Hashemi for years and has only wonderful things about her, but unfortunately, we will never go back and tell the many people we referred to this office of our experiences all due to MELANIE and the staff. I genuinely can not say enough good things about this practice, especially Dr. Merriman and her nurse, Gaby. I switched to this practice about 4 months in to my most recent pregnancy and I haven't looked back since. I had some issues postpartum and Dr. Merriman was there every step of the way. She didn't give up until she got to the root of the problem. Her genuine care is what stands out to me. She has sat with me at length to discuss some problems on many occasions and treated me as if I was her only patient. I recently moved to the DE metro area and Dr. Neda Hashemi came highly recommended. Now I can see why! She spent the time to answer all of our questions, provided information we didn't know to even ask, she made finding availability a priority to meet a time pressing need and had the most supportive bedside manner. Along with Dr. Hashemi, her staff is equally friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgable. She is well worth the drive to the Reston and Centerville location. Very bad experience after a miscarriage, the nurse totally changed her tone and attitude towards my wife while they were discussing appointment options on the phone. I don't normally Yelp, but women shouldn't treat women this way. You can do better. Also very unprofessional last Friday when my wife went to get blood drawn. Go somewhere else, this place doesn't care about you as a person or as a mother who just miscarried. Centreville only pays lip service to the notion of postpartum patient support and help. We used Centreville to attempt a VBAC for our second child. Don't get me wrong, it's a practice of skilled physicians. The reason I couldn't recommend them is their draconian vaccination policy. Even though my wife had a C section and is very limited in movement, this practice would not let me, though masked, attend the follow up visit after the birth because I could not provide proof of vaccination. Whatever you believe about the vaccine, I can't recommend a practice that apparently only Paul's lip service to wanting their postpartum patients to have support and help. read more

This is a fantastic office! I saw all of the providers during my pregnancy and afterwards. Every provider was caring and had a great bedside manner. They were able to ease my anxiety surrounding my pregnancy(I am over 35 years old). It was easy to schedule an appointment, and the staff are the friendliest around. They handled my insurance with ease, so I had nothing to worry about. I switched to this practice from another one in Leesburg, and will never go back! Marlene, the office manager, is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely kind(but so is the rest of the office!). 5 stars are well deserved! read more

I am so happy that I made the decision at 12 weeks to switch to Centreville OBGYN and attempt VBAC. With my first child I was told I needed a c section after failure to progress. I was in labor 17 hours and only dilated to 1cm. When I went in to see my doctor at 6 weeks pregnant they told me I would need another c section. That's when I decided to go to Centreville OBGYN. From the minute I met Chloe I felt safe. She was honest, open, answered my questions and calmed my fears. When I started to question having a vbac, she talked me through those concerns. Never once did I feel pressured or alone. She loves her vbac mommas and it shows. My vbac was such a calm and beautiful experience. It was amazing to have Chloe's support and guidance. I fully trusted her and it allowed me to relax and allow my body to progress naturally. After my vbac, I suffered from severe postpartum migraines. Chloe was there to help support me, research treatments, and even called my neurologist to push to have me seen sooner. She went above and beyond to ensure I was healthy. I am so thankful that I met Chloe and there is no one else I would want to have been by my side. read more

The receptionists, assistants, and other staff have all been very nice and pleasant. I've only seen Dr. Hashemi once, but the time I met her I liked her aura and gentleness. I came to this practice at the start of my third trimester because I wanted to try for an unmedicated birth under the care of a midwife and my doula/Bradley instructor could not say enough good things about this practice. I left my first appointment at their Reston office feeling heard and empowered and knew that I had made the right decision in switching to this practice. I saw Katie, Casey and Traci, along with two of the OBs, throughout my pregnancy and they always provided excellent care, answered my questions, and helped me develop a birth plan that matched my goals. When it came time to deliver our daughter in December 2020, Traci came to the hospital on her day off to ensure that I had a midwife present for my delivery. And, when my labor presented some unexpected challenges, Traci ensured that she and our birth team did everything in their power to get the birth we desired while also keeping both me and our baby girl safe throughout our labor. I am so glad Traci delivered our daughter on what was the hardest but happiest day of our lives. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone and everyone looking to feel empowered, encouraged and supported throughout their pregnancy, labor and delivery. read more

Before switching to Centreville OB/GYN I was at Prince William OB/GYN and I never felt comfortable. Every appointment was rushed and impersonal. I went to schedule an appointment solely to get back on birth control and their next opening wasn't for 3 months (I have an extremely open schedule as well). I'm kicking myself for not switching clinics sooner. I was able to get into this clinic within 2 weeks of calling! The front desk staff are so sweet and personable. Sitting there as a new patient I heard them greeting returning patients by their names and asking how they have been/ their kids are. After 6 years at the same clinic + going through a pregnancy with said clinic I don't think any of them knew my name. I showed up only a few minutes before my appointment and didn't have the new patient registration packet filled out... after working in a medical office I felt instant guilt but the receptionist was nothing but kind and I was definitely anticipating her to be frustrated with me. Needless to say within the first 5 minutes of being in the clinic I was sold. After next to no wait time I met with Dr. Merriman and she is just the best. She is so incredibly sweet. She made me feel so comfortable and explained all of my birth control options in a way that I fully understood every aspect and I didn't feel rushed at all. I fully feel when we're ready to expand our family that she/ this clinic are going to give the best possible care. If anyone has any hesitation toward the OB/GYN clinic they are at you should go here. They make you feel so comfortable, there is no judgement, and you never feel rushed. You also don't have to wait an obscene amount of time to schedule appointments! read more

Horrible front desk attendants. They are supposed to be the face of any company, but how can one get any where if they don't even pass the phone test?? The courtesy, respectfulness, professionalism and knowledge is a complete disaster. Called in the have them check whether or not I was in their system, receptionist was not nice about confirming with me that I have NEVER been there, and instantaneously goes into telling me they don't accept new patients until late august. However, i have checked the history with my medical insurance and sure enough, I've not only been there before but my insurance has paid them more than once! I had my first child with this practice. Very bad experience. I went to labor at midnight. After repeated calls from Fairfax hospital nurses, Tracy showed up at 9am to do the formalities so the nurses could give me a shot to improve my contractions. Then ms Tracy said she has a lunch planned with her friends and LEFT! She then came back at 3:30pm and finally called a doctor from another practice who came at 5:15. Finally baby was delivered at 5:45. He had fever at birth due to over exertion n stayed in NICU for a week. Next day Neda Hashemi comes in to NICU room n has no clue of how the delivery went. It's a miracle that nothing more serious happened. Inova fairfax nurses were awesome and took really good care of me while Tracy was out having a lunch party! Please avoid this practice if you care for yourself n your baby. read more

I've recommended this practice to so many women, but realized I never wrote a review! I have experience with Dr. Hashemi, and midwives Traci Marin and Monica Byrne. I have not yet had an appointment with Dr. Merriman, who arrived after my daughter was born. I switched to this practice when I was pregnant with my second, from a practice where the staff had changed up and those I felt good with were gone. I am SO glad I switched! I only saw Dr. Hashemi and Traci during my pregnancy - both were wonderful. Very competant and kind, and supportive of my desire to VBAC while being frank with me about risks of VBAC vs repeat c-section. I ended up with a c-section (water broke but daughter didn't drop - nothing could've been done differently), and Dr. Hashemi did a great job of it! They also provided great post-partum care - I'm very thankful to how well they took care of me and my daughter! I want to also give a special shout out to Monica. I met her after my daughter was born, and saw her when I had breastfeeding concerns. At that especially vulnerable and stressful time, she was exactly the type of practitioner I needed to see, and I am so grateful to how she treated me and helped me. Very warm, straightforward, and competant. Simply fantastic! I've had no issues with the front desk staff. I remember how hard they worked to get in touch with me when I was having weekly appointments at the end of my pregnancy, and there were snowstorms causing the office to close, etc, which I greatly appreciated. They went above and beyond in my opinion! One important note. These providers take their time with each of their patients. That means they can fall behind schedule. There can be quite a wait in the afternoons. It would be great if they could try to find more balance to scheduling patients who need appointments while giving enough time between appointments so a wait doesn't occur - but in the meantime - if your time is limited, try to schedule the first appointment of the day. read more

I found this practice on yelp when I found out I was pregnant and I'm so thankful that I did! Everyone who works here is so friendly and easy to communicate with. Dr. Merriman delivered my first baby and it was such a wonderful experience. My pregnancy went up to 41.5 weeks so I was medically induced. She was attentive, incredibly approachable, and I never once felt like the birthing process was rushed to make things more convenient for the medical personnel (As I've heard stories about from other moms). She explained my different options well and had great bedside manner. I felt like she was in my corner and made sure that I was well take care of. I can't say enough great things about my whole experience and I'm so thankful to have Dr. Merriman as my obgyn. I plan to have all my other babies with this practice if I can help it! read more

I work in the healthcare industry so my standards are def higher than most. That being said, I highly recommend this office. Their 5 star reviews are all for good reason. My 15 y/o daughter had her first gyn appointment today for irregular periods. She saw one of the midwives, Monica. She was extremely patient, compassionate, thorough and informative. My daughter really appreciated how she spoke in terms that she could understand and explained everything in detail & took great care keeping her comfortable. The nurse, who also worked the front office today (bc it's a Saturday) was just awesome. My toddler is normally not friendly with strangers but ran over & gave her the longest hug ever. I had one appointment that went super well, however it is like playing phone tag sometimes when calling this location. I have only had one visit so far and they already made a mistake in my scheduling causing me to go to the Reston location which is a lot further away and being seen over a week later than i should have been seen. The receptionist accidentally scheduled me with a doctor that doesn't accept new patients. As a receptionist they should know which doctors have restrictions for the patients they see. Stressing out pregnant ladies does not seem to be a good business tactic. They also have too many patients making it hard to even get an appointment. read more

When you start looking for an OBGYN you have many thoughts going through your head. You want someone to listen, be patient, understand you. Ultimately I personally wanted someone to see me and not be treated like a number because we all know they have many other patients to care for and look after. When I made the switch to Centreville OBGYN at 20 weeks pregnant I was looking for just that. During my very first visit is when I knew this was going to be a perfect fit. My visit was an hour long of just talking and it's what I needed. I had so many questions and thoughts. Expectations during pregnancy, the doctors/midwives thoughts and views on VBAC's just to name a few. I walked out of that room feeling completely heard and positive this is where I needed to be. Over the next few months I saw a few different doctors/midwives which I did on purpose so I could get to know them and be familiar with them when the big day came. I liked every single one I met and fell in love with Midwife Chloe Rios!! She has the kind of personality that is so easy to talk to and not feel awkward around. She was very knowledgeable and always had an answer that I could understand. After a few appointments with her I felt confident I would be able to achieve the VBAC I so badly wanted. So the big day came and my water broke, things took a while to progress and the next day just when I felt like I couldn't do this anymore and I wanted to give up, Chloe came to my rescue and completely changed my mood around. She reminded me that I AM able to do this and that we were going to make this happen together. It still took a few more hours for things to progress but she was patient and reassured me along the way. Thanks to Chloe I got my VBAC, and it completely changed my life. As I stated before I was looking for a provider to listen to me and understand what I wanted and to help me achieve this. Well Chloe did all that and so much more. She made me feel EMPOWERED. I never thought I was looking for that or needed it for what I was trying to accomplish, but I did! Like I said she changed my life. Terrible follow-up. I made an appointment two weeks in advance as new patient. They call the day before saying they need to reschedule. Given my work schedule and being a single mother, I let them know that It was not an option for me. The receptionist did have great phone etiquette however. She let me know that the office manager would give me a call to discuss my options. Okay. Fine. I did get two phone calls from them with no voicemail. Couldn't pick up because I was at work. I call back and leave a voicemail shortly after stating that I could not talk until after 4 and that they could leave a voicemail. Nobody ever did. Bottom line: BEST there is! Give it a try! I was referred to this practice by a co- worker of mine who delivered twins with Dr. Merriman. I knew I wanted to deliver at inova. At 20wks + pregnant I decided to make the switch. I couldn't be happier that I did! The customer service is amazing. I feel welcomed when I walk in and when I call. The entire staff is personable. Dr. Merriman is so amazing. Every time she comes in, I feel like I'm talking to a friend! Her bedside manner is impeccable. She does not rush through the exam but instead provides thorough and informative examinations. I have never seen Dr. Hashemi as a patient in the practice but have chatted with her in the hallways of the practice and she came to visit me twice while in pre-op. She is so amazing/ personable and made me feel calm before my repeat c section. We shared stories about our daughters and the dreadful chuck e cheese! Dr. Merriman came directly to the recovery room after my c section to check in and even helped to comb my hair! ha! She also visited multiple times during my stay in the hospital. Post c section I had a question for Dr. Merriman. I called the office, she was currently at the hospital. They called her at the hospital and called me right back. I felt priority! Now thats patient care You can definitely tell that Dr. Merriman and Dr. Hashemi genuinely care about their patients.
