This gorgeous so well maintained BEAUTY of a PARK is SUCH A delight that we almost wanted to get up and move to this area just to be CLOSER. Granted, this is THANKFULLY only a 5 minute drive from the home, but we prefer this park over any of the 5 parks near our home. No shade to my zip code but this takes the cake. This precise location tucked away in the complex is such a hidden charm. It's hidden but at the same time it is not. It is in the dead center of all of the gorgeous units/complex's/resident's. Everyone knows everyone, it's like a small town. The palm tree's, the lush green grass, the eatery across the street, the playground, all just ties so wonderfully. It's a beautiful sight to see and thats speaking from what I SEE. My PUP adores this place. Even the way over to the park it is as if he can just smell the Centrum Park grass, his head out the window got his tongue hanging out and it just hangs different when it's a centrum park day! Only CON; parking. if you are not a resident of this area, it will be close to impossible for you to park. There are a few visitor parking spots, but good luck. Those seems to always be taken. What's the best way to visit? Go support PARK SOCIAL (read my review on that, it is the best), get yourself a bite to eat. No one likes when you're hangry nor does your pup, obtain a parking pass from the counter and after your meal, cruise next door for your pup to just burn off some energy! My favorite time to come is evening hours. Everyone "all the regulars" seem to gather, make good conversation.

Playground for kids

We came to this park since my daughter wanted play time. This park is located inside an apartment complex centrally located in the middle. It's also a dog park which is great but as I was walking through the pavement, I see tiny bits of dog poop. Kinda gross when you are walking around. Don't the owners pick up their own dog poop?! Ugh. Anyway, other than that, the playground was nice and simple. There were plenty of benches that surrounds the playground. Behind the playground is a huge grass area for kids to play or where dogs do their business. It was a cold day to be outside but sitting in the sun was nice. A very chill place to relax. There's side parking for visitors which is around 20 minutes. They also have a parking garage but you need to pay for the parking garage if you are a visitor. I parked in the 20 minute zone since we didn't stay long.

They have construction down the street so be careful!

Nice clean park. It's pretty quiet. The only complaints I have is that they a pet potty area like right next to the children's area. The other is that they are doing construction right across the street and you get a lot of the tar and drills from there. Not to mention that it is noisy. There is parking here too down the street and it's free for 20 min.

Clean!

Nice clean park, there is an enclosed dog part that is consistently mowed. This review is overdue as I've come here many times and keep coming back. It is in the middle of a condo complex which is very well mainyajned. The people here are friendly and local. Lots of picnic tables. Great for outdoor parties. The sand is very clean and loose so it is easy to brush off. But there is conatruction going on so all you hear are drills and trucks. If it doesn't bother you this is a great park to bang put at.

Brand new Park by City of San Diego which borders the domain by alta apartment complex. They have a playground, benches, barbecue pits, and dog bags around the park. Grass is really green, but with all the construction going on its far from quiet or clean. Once all the construction in the area is done it will be a very nice little park.

Bella is our Klee Kai on the right.

Nice, clean, and convenient park for those who live in the surrounding apartments. My husband and I love taking our puppy Bella here. She gets to interact with all of the other puppies and dogs in the community. Perfect for socializing dogs and with other neighbors . There are picnic tables. Doggie bag stations. Playground for kids. I give it 4 stars because it could have a little more trees for shade and lighting at night. We have let Bella run around off leash only because we trust her to come back when called. Many owners do let their dogs off leash here. However, some parents have complained about dogs being off leash in the park. I can understand their concerns for their children. Perhaps a gated area for the dogs to run free would earn this park a five star.

Hidden gem the city put in

First time here. Cool little hidden gem. Mainly, people come here with their dogs and their kiddies but it's not loud or crowded. Just everyone enjoying the beautiful day. I found a nice little area away from everyone to chill and read. Perfect distance from home, I will def be coming back

Considering I was locked in the dog park this morning and couldn't get out because the gate is broken. That deserves 1 star.

Cute little park. Has everything. Bbq area, tables, and a great playground. Only problem is people who don't clean after their dogs.

It's super accessible with ample parking, and I love that there are multiple entry points and routes you can take depending on how long of a walk you're in the mood for. This park truly has something for everyone. There's a splash pad, basketball courts, a great playground for kids, and even a giant chess game, which is such a fun and unique touch. It's also an amazing place to walk your dog--I bring mine here all the time, and he absolutely loves all the open grass and the variety of paths we can explore. One of my favorite features is the set of stairs that lead up toward the residential areas and the dog park. If you take them all the way up, you're rewarded with really pretty views at the top, which makes the little climb totally worth it. Overall, Civita Park is clean, well-designed, and perfect whether you're looking to be active or just enjoy a relaxing afternoon outdoors. Definitely a Mission Valley gem!

There's also a row of small fountains for kids to play, run through and splash in. Cons: It's a really nice park ON A COOL DAY. Lately, with temperatures 10 to 19° above "normal average" - or maybe it's just the new normal - it's hard to recall the last time we got to experience a cool day. But here, the way the gazebos, tables, and benches are set up reflects a pretty severe case of denial that this is Southern California, and not quite within walking distance from the beach. It WILL get hot whenever it damn pleases, with or without notice. It did so in February already, in case you missed it. We came a few times for the farmers market. Both days were unfortunately " 80°F" her weather report, which in reality feels like 92°F, and we had to scramble to find a little bit of shade, so that we could eat our street food without passing out from heat stroke. We huddled awkwardly on the curb under a small tree. Other people passing by with food in their hands looked at us with envy. NOT A SINGLE PERSON sat on the readily available benches with tables, because they were in the blazing sun, yet lacked any shade. Never mind an umbrella, not even holes to put one in!! Denial much?? It's really sad, because it's a beautiful place. It just DESPERATELY needs more shade for the visitors to feel comfortable without clinging to trees or the bathroom walls.

There are four big pine trees with separate retaining walls around three of them for owners to sit down. With it being so close to the bay, there's often a nice breeze that goes through the park. There's no divide between small dogs and big dogs, so it's best to just keep an eye on your dog, and many owners around here are usually respectful. The street parking immediately adjacent to the park is free, however, it has a limit of 30 minutes, and the parking meter workers are strict on it if they're around. I bring my dog here around lunch time because those who live/ work in the area tend to bring their dogs during their break time and my dog gets his socialization time. They close 8am-11am MWF for maintenance/ cleaning. Currently, both gates are broken so it's not as secure as it should be, and who knows when the city will actually fix it. There're a few agility structures and a water dispenser. The children's park itself looks pretty cool for kids with a lot of structures with slides and swings. There's also another separate area with fixed exercise equipment that looks well- maintained. The water feature in the park is a water feature, not a pool.

Shade is easily found and the play structure is great for children + adults of all ages. Lastly, there are restrooms and water fountain located not too far. Shout out to Ms. Maruta Gardner!!
