Monte Carlo is located just east of Dundas and Dixie, but is not visible from the main roads, which made it hard to find. It's located in a fairly old strip mall that I usually drive by without giving a second glance. The bar itself is an older looking establishment, but very well kept. There are many pool tables and a handful of snooker tables that take up the large space, which consists of one long main room, and two smaller rooms. The staff were accommodating when I informed them that I had a Groupon. They even gave us a reminder when we had 5 minutes left in our promotional 2 hour limit, which was very nice of them. The drinks here are decently priced, with a beer costing about $3.50. The appetizers are decently priced as well, but don't expect anything special. I ordered the jalepeno poppers and they were clearly just heated from a frozen state, with some being colder than others. While the food was just alright, the actual pool tables were quite good! The tables are well kept, and ours didn't have any rips or bumps that would've impacted our game. There was ample space between tables, so at no point did we ever feel cramped for space. The cues are also decent and plentiful. I'd definitely recommend this place to others for those who want a pure pool experience. For a night out, I'd still recommend Wacky Wings because the food and entertainment is incomparable.

It was quite large, dimly lit, and had zero customers. The only person in the building was the middle aged Asian bartender who spoke extremely broken English. Upon arriving, my friend Trevor asked her where her bathroom was located. She looked up from her phone, answered "Yes" and turned her attention back to her cellular. After asking her again, she frowned and frantically pointed in the direction of the bathroom, as if annoyed that we were taking up her time. I then asked her if I could have a glass of water, being hung over from the weekend activities. Her answer was very hard to understand, but I got the impression that she was saying no. Thinking she did not understand what I said the first time, I asked her again specifically for a glass of tap water. Frowning, she explained that I could not have a glass of water because she did not want to have to wash the cup, and that I should buy a bottle of water. My friend Aaron, who was helping me interpret her sentences, offered to purchase a bottle of water. She yelled "TWO DOLLAR". We took our water and left. So, I give Strokers one star out of five for having customer service so bad that I decided to make a Yelp account just to tell the world.

The new owners have painted the place, replaced the badly worn out carpet, added a number of new tables, are replacing and updating the lighting, and will be getting new regular sized pool tables in a month or two. The kitchen has been extensively renovated, although the recent opening was probably a bit premature. They closed the kitchen temporarily to acquire and train the kitchen staff properly. The new owners are very keen, and have been doing a lot to upgrade the premises. The staff is attentive and very accommodating. Definitely worth a try.
