It's a Pool Hall. You know the places that your parents would abhor as only misfits hang out there! LOL...! Unlike the basement dives that was around when I was a wee lad (if you want to see what they looked like, go to Less than Level), things have changed over the years. Some places have cool lighting and lockers and playoffs and ... other useless stuff. I just want a clean pool table and a bar that has decent drinks. JJ Q's fits the bill for having fun on a lousy, rainy, Sunday afternoon. The crowd of regulars, with all their gear bags - which resembles an NRA convention! You should see the cue bags...I think there is a scope in one of those! The place is large with lots of tables. If you feel bashful, you can find a far corner and practice your game. Or if you want to be alone or with someone. Cost of the table and the beers were a little high though. I think almost three hours and a couple of beers + tax + tip was around $70 - Yikes! I kind of dislike when they put the pool charge on the bill, it only runs the tip up...oh well. Cheers! read more

The music is so loud you can't hear the person talking right in front of you. The price for about an hour of pool was about $22 split between my friend and I. The drinks were a little overpriced for what they were and took a while to get. I think you'd be better off going to Big Slicks where it is cheaper and a better overall environment for billiards. read more

I went to JJQs for the first time on Monday and had a great time. Our server was very attentive and always checked up on us. Some of the pool tables feel a bit worn out but they do the job. There is also a ping pong table as well. Depending on what day you come they have a few daily specials such a wing night, fireball night etc. This pool hall is perfect for groups looking to play some casual billiards. read more

The billiards were fine but the food service is awful - at least, what we experienced. Me and the other person I was with sat down in their restaurant an hour before a time we reserved well ahead of time. We were not rude or unpleasant when we ordered drinks and nachos. We received the drinks... and then a second drink order but wondered why it was taking so long to make something as dumb-simple as nachos. When it had been over an HOUR since we placed our food order, no apologies or explanation were given for the delay, but we were told we had to take our pool table or we'd lose our reservation. After another freaking 30 minutes, one of us went to the bar and asked again about the food. There was a plate of nachos sitting there getting cold, and apparently this was our order. When the food was FINALLY delivered to us, again we were given no apologies or explanation for the delay. Maybe this place should focus all of its energy on beer and billiards only because that seems to be the only two things they're capable of doing. read more

Great pool hall to go to! Very clean and the tables are nice. The only issue I have is that for a pool hall, and especially where other pool halls have this, they charge a high amount for pool, about $17 an hour. I understand that is some where on the high average for pool halls, but most halls will have at least one day during the week where it is discounted, or between certain hours. They also have amazing wings but no wing night. If they embraced some promotions, I believe it would attract a lot more attention and business. read more

This is a great layout for pool with about ten tables. There is an outside patio for smokers and seats for those who would like to enjoy a beer outside. A few TVs, but not enough. This is a location to play pool and enjoy a few drinks. read more

Favourite pool hall in Mississauga. Food is solid, there are lots of tables and tv's and a great atmosphere. Not the highest end clientele to be honest. good place to kick it with the boys, and making some close girl friends. Wouldn't bring a girl here for a first date or anything, this is a place where you come with your closer friends who you enjoy talking to, and maybe want to watch the game, or play some pool or ping pong. Bartenders are great. The servers can be a bit hard to find at times, or at least you need to get their attention rather than them get your attention, but that's only when it's really busy... which is understandable. Love this place, great for a couple drinks and shooting the breeze after work. read more

My last visit to JJQ's, I was threatened, denied exit, and charged $56.00 for another groups billiards tab. Needless to say, I will not be giving JJQ's my business ever again. I am also letting friends and family who attend JJQ's know about my experience and how security treats customers. My own experience with this bar was awful and so I would strongly recommend that you avoid this establishment. Details of the event are described below if you would like to read the whole story. The early morning of February 28, I arrived around 1:00am with two friends and was taking a walk around the billiards area when a member of security asked if I wanted to play. I inquired the price and was told $15/hr plus an additional fee which I cannot recall. I declined and went to the bar where I ordered two pitchers. My friends and I took our drinks to the billiards area and stayed there watching a group playing on a table. There were 2 players and 6 others standing around the table. Near 2:00am the group of players proceeded to exit while leaving their balls on the table, so one of my friends and I racked up a quick game and shot a couple balls for a few minutes, until we were told we had to finish our drinks and leave. That is exactly what we did and my two other friends had already exited, when I was stopped on my way out and asked to pay for my billiards tab. I made clear that it was the group before us that had been playing but apparently that group left without paying and because I was last on the table, I was supposed to pay for their tab. Security told me the bill was $56.00 and I immediately refused and explained again that the other group had requested the balls in the first place, and since they racked up a $56.00 bill, they must have been playing for at least a couple hours. If I arrived at 1:00am and never asked for balls, how could I be expected to pay a $56.00 bill? Did the person who requested the balls in the first place not pay anything up front, or leave an ID or Credit Card to ensure that he would pay before he left? If a waitress was coming back and forth serving that group the entire time and seeing that they were the ones playing long before we had arrived, how could that large group be allowed to leave without paying for anything? After my refusal, security threatened me saying "We can do this the easy way or the hard way" and demanded payment. I saw my friends waiting outside for me and asked if I could get them to help me resolve this situation. One security member opened the locked door and let a friend inside. As I approached the door he put his hands on me and pushed me backwards after I repeatedly told him not to touch me. With one of my friend's now inside, my friend urged me to pay for the bill being surrounded by 3 security guards. Seeing as I had no other choice and I would not be allowed to leave otherwise, I of course paid a ridiculous amount that was not my own. Since it is true that I used the table briefly, I would not have minded paying for one game, even though we used the table for less than 10 minutes. But a $56.00 bill is ridiculous. read more

This is one of the cleanest, and well kept places I've been to. The staff are always attentive to you r needs (beer) They come to you, so you don't have to leave the table. As for TVs, almost 1 per table, Food is excellent. Specials everyday of the week. I love the buy lunch Mon. to Fri.and pool is free. All kinds of of in house leagues for all levels of play.With 15 to 20 tables there is a lot of room .Large sit down bar area (with video games) if you need to wait for a table or just hang out after your game. my 85 year old father tells me stories of the old days at a pool hall as he marvels at JJQ's.
