I was charged approximately $3,000 for a spring replacement and a new motor, before an added 3.5% credit card fee and 6% tax, neither of which were disclosed upfront in my "all-in" price. During the service, I was told my garage door motor was at risk of imminent failure and was strongly encouraged to replace it on the spot. Given the urgency, I relied on that assessment. However, after the work was completed, I obtained multiple additional quotes. Not only did those quotes come in significantly lower ($1,200-$1,400 for the same scope of work), but technicians also tested the motor and indicated it was functioning properly and did not require replacement, raising serious concerns about whether the additional work was necessary. In transparency, I was offered a $50 discount in exchange for leaving a five-star review, which post-service I simply could not do and undermines confidence in the authenticity of existing ratings. (Negotiated rates accepted based on if you were willing to give a positive review-assuming the work was done well) Called and was able to get a quote same day (speed in itself should've been a red flag). The technician is the primary reason for this poor review. While only time can tell of his work and installation, it was his unprofessionalism that came off badly. He was very insistent on staying for the quote and felt like he wouldn't take no for an answer. He made back handed comments right in front of me for choosing a "lower tier option" which was very condescending. He made frequent calls to his boss to "approve" the new quotes and possible upgrades which was uncomfortable. Their packages are grossly inflated up front. Please do your research and get quotes for a fair price. I had my garage doors serviced on May 14, 2026. The safety cables had broken so Century Garage Door Service came to the house for the repair. I wasn't home, but my wife was. They originally quoted a price of $765 to replace the springs and cables and adjust the garage door. They convinced my wife that an addition support was needed on the door for an additional charge of $265. When they left the door opened correctly with no noise or sticking. The total job for the repair was $1265 which includes tax and front pulleys. Two weeks ago, the door stuck while opening and makes the same type of nose that they were supposed to have fixed. I have called Century three times in the past two weeks, and I keep getting the answer that service repair person will call me. When I ask when they will call, they are very evasive. As of today, no one has called me. Today I was told that my complaint was forwarded to a manager. I still have two weeks left on the 90-day warranty for labor and I feel that they are just running out the clock. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Customer Beware! I called Century Garage Doors to repair our garage door opener after it malfunctioned. The technician recommended replacing our chain driven opener with a belt driven opener as he said it could not be repaired. I took his word for it and replaced the 3 year old opener at a cost of over $1,200. The new opener worked for about a week and then malfunctioned repeatedly. When the old opener malfunctioned, it bent the metal strip that held the screws at the top of the door. I called Century again and they sent the same technician. He told me that the door needed to be replaced due to the bent piece. I am a senior citizen and my husband is disabled. I trusted him and paid the deposit for a new door which was quoted at $4,000. I had buyers remorse and got a second opinion which resulted in my garage door being repaired for $60. I was told that I could not cancel the order for the door and have lost my deposit of $1,203. In addition, the garage door opener still doesn't work and I have placed multiple calls to Century to have the 6 week old opener repaired but I was told each time that a manager would need to call me back. However, I have not received a call back and am now forced to call someone else which will result in another charge even though the opener is under warranty and they should repair it at no cost. Do not trust this company. I don't know if they take advantage of all their customers or if they felt that as an older female I wouldn't know the difference. My husband took a day off work today because we were expecting someone to come by between 10-12 to look at our garage. After no one came by, I called around 12:15. The woman said she'd call the technician to check. 20 minutes later she finally calls back to say they could be there around 1. I explained that we'd still be around but not after 2. Again, no one shows up. Around 4, I get a call that someone will be there around 5:30. No, we won't be home and I already explained that. No apologies either. They stood by the pricing citing the quality of parts used but said I should have been provided multiple options at different prices points to choose from. Suggest that everyone ask for options. Beware!! They charged me about $1,500 for a garage door spring replacement that multiple other providers quoted in the $400-$600 range after the fact. They offered me a 5% discount for a 5 star google review but couldn't in good conscience do that. We had to get it done immediately so couldn't get multiple quotes but I was charged 2-3x the fair market price for what should have been a fairly standard job. The parts and work itself seems good, but the pricing was opportunistic and not transparent. I would strongly recommend getting multiple quotes before agreeing to any work with them. When I told them it was too high they played the game of let me call my boss and see what he says. Then the worker kept changing the story and acted as if he could get us a better deal. He also honored the warranty and did not charge me the additional $325 for the "additional labor."
