They send multiple texts to confirm someone would be home between 8am and 5 pm for them to troubleshoot our slow service (1-5 download when we are paying for 40) 5 pm, no show. After trying to work with their robot answering service for 10 minutes o finally was able to speak to a real human, who then had to transfer me to someone else. This nice lady explained that at 11 am they had to reschedule my appointment to next week, 4 days from my original appointment. She admitted that they failed to notify me. Century link gave me a window time of 11am-2pm. I have a wife with Dementia. They showed up at 9:50am so I wasn't home. They did nothing. I upgraded to better internet didn't give me new router. Internet the next evening still scrambled sound in and out. Charged me $129.00 for coming out when they wanted too and did nothing. Then sent them a long text and they said they would help with a Tech on the phone immediately and then a Calander popped up and said there was nothing until May and this was all done on April 20th. So Disappointing and now just trying to get my $129.00 back for showing up way before there window time. I told him I just wanted to know how much it is. I was inquiring about the service. I decided not to go with them ,then several months later they sent me a huge bill for almost $400.! I called and was told originally that the order was still pending but the back office would clean it up. I called again and this time I was told that the order to start service wasn't worked and they could send someone out on 1/24. Yesterday, my internet stopped working. I have CenturyLink (or had). It was yesterday (Sunday) that I found out there is no one you can talk to after 5PM weekdays; no one to talk to weekends or holidays at CenturyLink. All they have is their chat line which after an hour of chatting it was determined I needed a new modem. Today I called CenturyLink and I am not sure what part of the world they are located. It was not part of the United States and I had difficulty with the accents of the five different individuals I was passed to. Since the internet wasn't working at my home and I wasn't going to be back to the home for three months, I just wanted to not be billed until I returned to the home since why should I pay for a service I was not receiving? They wanted to send me a modem now, but once again, why should I pay when I wouldn't be on site for the next three months. I feel that CenturyLink staff are trained to be passive aggressive with you when you call and you repeat the issue over and over without getting any help to the problem. After being on the phone for for 64 minutes, I finally cancelled the service. I really don't believe CenturyLink doesn't care about keeping your business. Before this incident, CenturyLink service sucked to begin with and it buffered especially when you tried to watch sports. I will try another service, but don't be fooled by CenturyLink. I wish I could give negative stars I cannot tell you how deep my seething hatred for this company runs. I have had them for almost a year now and I have never once had a good, smooth connection. Literally everything about their connection is awful. Their customer service agents can't do anything to help and bless their hearts for being patient with me but this company literally sets them up for failure. I cannot recommend enough going literally ANYWHERE else. I am so desperate for working wifi that I would literally shove the modem up my own ass if it made it work better, which is basically what I'm told any time I try to get help. Just because your servers say my wifi is "working" doesn't mean it actually is. Out internet goes down at least once every single day. Some days, like today, it goes down 3 or 4 times. Century Link support is abysmal. Their fix for everything is to reboot the router. The issues is t the brand new router, it's the antiquated infrastructure that they refuse to upgrade. 3 years ago prior to buying our home we asked if high speed service was available at our address. They assured us it was. After closing on our home we learned that the high speed service stops 6 miles from our home. If I could give them zero stars I would. Century Link is the only option for internet in my area. I need an increase in internet speed to accommodate the expansion my business. I called Century Link on June 21st, 2021 to upgrade my internet and was told that the soonest a technician could come to my house was July 21st, 2021. I feel that a month is an offensive amount of time to wait for an internet upgrade as I would lose a month of profits. This company has an override for these types of situations, but my request was immediately denied because "there weren't any missed appointments recorded." What confused me more was if I lived 14 miles north, I could have a technician at my home the following week. I questioned further, why is it faster service in Flagstaff? I was told, "It means we are not as busy in those areas so we can provide a faster appointment time." I inquired, can a Flagstaff or Kachina technician cover the extreme busyness of internet installation in the Munds Park area? I was informed, "It's not an option." I never received one minute of the actual internet service they claim to provide. I talked with multiple service reps. The last told me that since I received no service, my final bill would be $0.00 He lied. My bill (remember I didn't spend one minute on line with their company) was $188 and change. SOOO BAD. I'm sorry, I'm really a patient person in general and I feel bad for all the middlemen I've dealt with on CenturyLink's chat and phone services. Here's my story, In May, I scheduled an appointment to start internet at my new home 3 weeks out for their soonest appointment available. The night before, I get an email cancelling the appointment for lack of equipment. I tried their phone lines and was on hold for literally over an hour before they hung up on me. Next I tried the chat and was transferred a couple times before they said the soonest they could reschedule would be the second week of July. Today is the day I was scheduled for and guess who doesn't show up? I chatted earlier today to confirm the appointment and they did. I chatted again just now and got transferred around then disconnected. It's honestly kinda hilarious how horrible they are. So if you want a good laugh at such horrible service definitely go with CenturyLink! The worst part is, I have no other options in the area that I live. So I just have to keep waiting until they finally decide they can squeeze in the time to set up my internet which I need for work and school. After trying to set up internet at our new house we were told it would be three months before anyone could bring a modem to the house to set up the internet but that if I called another number they could expedite it. I set up the account and called the other number where I was told it would be three months before they could come out. I asked to cancel the account and continue to receive bills for the cancelled account. I took over the previous owners account and have had horrible internet speed and we lose connection multiple times a day. I called to have my internet upgraded to a faster speed and was told it would be a month before someone could come out. I said that was fine but am already being billed for the upgraded internet even though it has yet to be installed. In order to reach anyone it's a 45 min wait time and no one knows what they are talking about and can never give a straight forward answer. I signed up with centurylink in April because there's not much choice in a small town. A month later I learned from friends & family that when I call them someone else's name is on the caller ID. Some people have not answered the phone because they didn't recognize the name. I assume it's the name of the previous holder of my number. I've called them several times asking them to fix the problem. They insist it's not their fault but that of the other carriers not updating their records. I don't believe other carriers have not updated their records for three months! I do believe centurylink has been lying to me. There must be hundreds of new CL customers. Is it possible that all of us have this problem because other carriers aren't updating their records? I don't think so. Otherwise this problem would be addressed. My advice is if you have a choice for telephone service, avoid CL at all costs. Their customer service sucks. read more
