Excellent Service! Lost internet svc at about 11am. Called it in (virtual chat) around 1pm. After troubleshooting for a bit a tech was ordered for next day, fine. The tech called at 4pm and offered to come immediately which was great. He (Brent) went back and forth between house and area box until it was fixed, about an hour. I was very pleased with his commitment to repair. This is the first service issue I have had in years that a modem reset could not solve. Love my fiber service. Highly recommended! read more

Our business phone service was down for almost two months with an endless series (over 40) of repair appointments that were never fulfilled and hours spent talking to people who promised to be the one to help and did nothing. So how stupid is this...I watch my auto bills really closely. Century link went up $10 this month. I call to ask why. They say my "loyalty" promotion ended. I say "so if i stay with you longer, Im not more loyal"? Tells me i have to re-sign annual contract (which of course has MORE terms, conditions & penalties than the last one. Zero Stars. I have never been so frustrated with a company's customer service. It is almost impossible to get to speak to an actual person. They do not let you cancel unless you actually speak to someone. They messed up my phone number so the virtual assistant could never look me up and it was a absolute HEADACHE to get connected to someone. The actual internet service has been horrible, I couldn't even surf the web connected to my own WIFI at my house. I would call and call and never get sufficient help. I had to switch to Quantum Fiber after Century Link advised me to do so. Service was disconnected on October 24th, 2024. I have been trying to obtain a refund on an overpayment ever since. Custom service staff on numerous occasions have said to expect a refund check within 15-days, however, this has failed to occur. It is nearly impossible to reach a live custom service or billing individual and their telephone tree is extremely frustrating. Even their online individual supplied invalid information about a forthcoming refund check. On several occasions, even when I was able to reach support personnel, I was told that they had send a "escalation" e-mail to their billing department and promised a 15-day refund... I am so frustrated with this company! I would give them a 3-star rating for Internet service and a 1-star rating for customer support and honest dealings. read more

I recently moved to Utah and set up Century Link internet service. I work from home, so rely on reliable internet to be able to work. I even upgraded to the fastest internet connection, so I would not have any issues. However, I have had non-stop problems over the last two weeks, which have greatly disrupted my work, are compromising my employment, and costing me an excessive amount of money in lost employment. I have contacted CenturyLink about these issues nearly everyday over the last two weeks (which also ends up costing me at least 45 min per day and a lot of frustration), I have spoken to their people when they have been outside working on various other installations, I have had repair people out to my home (which the company is trying to charge me for), and I have repeatedly asked for the issue to be escalated. No one will even call me back, the company keeps coming out to disturb the wires as they are doing new installations (this is a new area), and I am being charged excessive fees for something that doesn't even work and is compromising my employment. Yesterday, they even left the top off of the box holding all of the wires at night, and I, myself, had to attempt to put the top back on (which I imagine is dangerous for someone like me that doesn't know how to deal with exposed wiring). If you have a choice whatsoever, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO CENTURY LINK!!! I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE WARNED ME!!! read more

All I want to know is if there was an outage in my area. Been having problems with our modem so not sure where the issue was. We've been with this company for well over 10 years, internet went out and we had to wait a week for a tech to not show up, give the ticket to someone else with a better "skillset" only to find out the next day his truck broke down yet no one could tell us that, just kept giving us new times and then thr next day when we checked our ticket there wasn't one, they tried to claim we cancled our ticket which is a load of crock, called, they reopened it to once AGIAN been given 5 different time frames to finally be told in a live chat "because the time of day they tech most likely went home" then they disconnected the chat, the customer severance is Appalling bad, they cant seem to ever get ahold of the tech and the price isn't great either for what they give you so after 10+ years of being loyal customers it's time to go. read more

When I first got the internet service I really liked it but now I'm constantly having connection issues. I have to reset my box and hope that works. Finally got a hold of tech support but no live person to talk to and they said it would be 15 days before anyone came out. Slow costumer service when you need to fix equipment or cancel service, they make their page lag and skip when trying to cancel online and trying the online live chat Can take up to 3 hours, calling at least 1hr and when scheduling a technician they expect you to be home all day and only will tell you when coming with about 30 min anticipation. Service goes up 10$ after a year. You need to buy or rent your own modem and there are faster/cheaper options out there. Had it for 1 and a half. $60 a month for 40mbps is a joke. read more

Service went out. After troubleshooting at home and rebooting the router, I called Century Link. It took a few minutes to work my way through their voicemail system, I was connected to a technician. I described the problem, he started running diagnostic checks and then hung up on me. Still does not work three hours later. I am looking for a new service provider. read more

Abysmal customer service. When I set up my service they said they would send someone out to bury the line in 3 weeks. One year later the line was still exposed and the boy mowing our lawn accidentally cut it. I work from home and it took them 4 days to come out and fix it. After the repair, they said they would get someone out ASAP to bury it. 6 months later the line is still not buried and was accidentally severed by a construction crew. They won't be able to come to fix it for 6 days. I've asked to speak to a manager and they say they'll call me back in a few hours. I doubt I will receive a call. We were only with them for maybe 3 months and we had requested a tech 3 times and they always said they were going to come! And guess what they never came! Welcome to the twenty-first century and the bizarre, surreal world of corporate greed. My internet service is horrible. I am paying an exorbitant amount for fiber optic service that stinks. The speed is great. I test it myself, but the actual internet is slow, websites do not open up, and if I walk 500 feet away from the modem, I can't get service. The customer service rep does the same test I have done, and tells me the speed is great. That's smoke and mirror folks. The speed of service is just one iota of what good internet connections are all about. Customer Service tells me all they're entitled to do is provide fast speed according to their data. Actually internet service is not a concern of Century Link. If the MbPs shows a high number, they are providing what they promised. The rest is none of their business. Hey, we created this world, and I blame the current American culture, which Utah is at the vortex of. Forty years ago a corporate malfeasance such as Century Link would not be tolerated. When you call with a problem regarding your existing service, the system puts you in a loop where you cannot get a live person. The only way to reach a live person is to pretend to be a new customer who is considering buying services. When you get them on the line and tell them you are an existing customer, they withhold the actual customer service number while they try to sell you additional services!! The ACTUAL number for customer service is 888-705-6310, but don't expect much better from this number. My wifi has been dropping off in the middle of work meetings so often that it has become impossible to do my job. I will be cancelling with Centurylink as soon as humanly possible. This was a few years ago, but still makes mad. Tried to sign up as a first time customer. Had time range they were going to show up to install, 4 hours later they had not shown up. Customer service on phone was no help. They could not tell me when anyone was coming and offered me nothing, also they were kind of rude. I contacted Xfinity and could pick up and self install that day and cancelled my Century Link contract, Xfinity is not the best ever, but feel I dodged a bullet with Century Link. I barely watch TV. I got this because centurylink was charging alot more money for standalone internet only. 1. Being that it's an internet service, I like to surf the net and watching online tv, you can't do that with centurylink. 3. HD should be an automatic feature with basic service (since everyone now is required to have HD instead of analog) but they charge you 10.00 extra for that. 4. I got told that i would have a DVR, but come to find that not only was that an extra service (around 10-11 dollars for), but that I got lied to, i talked to century-link, and they did not seem to care or want to address that. 5. I'm paying for something that i don't use, and it looks jaggy, pixelized and bouncy on my 55 inch TV, mind you I live smack in the city of Salt Lake, not a happy camper with Prism TV. read more

What a horrible experience! Just canceled them and switched to Google Fiber. I've been on hold for over an hour every time I call. They charge the same amount as Google for 1/5th the upload/download speeds. I returned my modem as instructed to receive my refund and I called almost 2 weeks later and they said they never received it. Horrible service where we live. Constant streaming issues...when we watch a movie on Netflix, it stops randomly and has to buffer for several minutes before it resumes. I go to the local coffee shop to run any updates on my phone because my internet can't handle it. Forget about running more than one device at a time to use the Internet. All internet companies are terrible. My experience with Century Link just proves they are the same as the other. That intro rate of 29 a month will jump suddenly into the $70 range as soon as your 1 year ends so you need to be on the ball to contact them immediately so you are not getting gouged. And when you do call them up, it's a non-stop sales pitch about getting other people to sign up and upselling. Begging and pleading for google fiber to get to SLC...I'll be signing up for the 5meg speed that just requires hookup fees. read more

Choose anybody but Century Link! The speed I was promised and was sent via email telling me we would recieve was not honored. Instead, they insisted on $10 more a month when I called and told them we had never received the promised (60mps) speed. I suspect there are grounds for a lawsuit here. I was on the phone for 1 hour 24 minutes. The first "technician" had me on the phone for 32 minutes, couldn't resolve my issue, never apologized, and wanted to transfer me to another department, at which point I asked for a supervisor. 62 minutes later, they finally resolved the issue. You will regret using CenturyLink. Unfortunately they were the only ISP in our area (which was extremely odd because neighborhoods around us had many options), which is the only reason we were forced to stay with them. Our internet was slow at best and completely unusable about 50% of the day. We had technicians out to "fix" it on literally more than a dozen occasions No matter how many times they came out, we were unable to get even half the speeds we were paying for. Our computers had to be hardlined into the modem to get any sort of decent connection. When school was out over the summer and the entire neighborhood had kids at home streaming videos/video games/etc. we had to use our cell phone's hotspots for work. After 4 years of paying $80 a month for basically nothing, we moved and were able to cancel. I returned the modem according to their directions and it was lost by UPS. And, you guessed it, they charged me for the lost modem. So even after dropping their service, they have continued to screw me. The customer support people passed me around from department to department and told me there was nothing they would do and if I didn't pay for the modem they would send my account to a collections agency. I have never had such a terrible experience with a company. Poor product, poor service. Absolutely nothing good to say about my experience with CenturyLink. read more

I have had century link Internet services for almost 2 years now. After multiple routers (which I pay for monthly) the service only gets worse. I'm now paying $75 a month for Internet only. I can't even watch a Netflix episode with phones, tablets, and computers disconnected from WiFi, without out my Internet disconnecting entirety. My mom (who has her own service, separate from mine) is also dealing with the exact same issue. She was told there is nothing the local branch can do to help her after visiting in person. Her statements only grow in price, regardless of the "promotion" she signed up for a couple months ago. My family will be canceling our services ASAP.
