Everyone we dealt with was very nice. Sadly, that does not compensate for the damage done to our belongings. You would think that a long distance moving company would protect large pieces of furniture with more than 1 moving blanket, but they did not. As a result, things that were stacked rubbed through the blankets and gouged many pieces of furniture. Also, the moves used packing tape directly on our wood furniture marring the finish. Some items were broken on arrival and the driver told us he picked them up that way from storage. We could have been notified. I would not recommend them simply because of the way they packed our things. Interestingly, the items we packed ourselves arrived in perfect condition. Absolutely the worst moving company ever! Buyers please do this before you commit to excepting their quote, have and ask for a representative to come give a physical quote. Don't rely on the initial phone quote as Daneilla, jimmy, Zeek, will use the lowest rate possible on square footage. On day of pick up and 2 days prior of closing on the home they bumped us on the quote by $4700. Donot deal with this company as it's a shady tactic to have you pay more in a vulnerable situation. At first they are very nice and polite willing to help you through the process of getting things ready but at day of pick that's when you notice the Delay in responses if any at all, the unread emails and then the fingers start pointing to different employees. We have tried reaching out multiple times and we have not gotten anywhere. Obviously they donot want to reimburse us for the missquote and after reading other reviews it looks like this is part of their process. As for our personal items and furniture close to all were damaged and chipped/scuffed. So far we have lots broken items, one chair leg completely snapped off, dressers and bed sets totally damaged on each corner even being wrapped in blankets by them. You would totally have to go out of your way to get this type of damage on most things. One dresser top looks like it was dragged on concrete, how does that even happen? One box had personal memorabilia in it and clearly marked donot stack, fragile very fragile well the box came in stacked in the truck. Obviously crushed the items and shown to the driver. He looks at me and said yeah they stacked it and didn't even read the bright red stickers stating fragile. Still going through the process of getting some type of reimbursement from there insurance BUT I still have not gotten a response from this company. So at this time I have started the process with the attorney generals office, the better business bureau, all social media outlets and actually sat down with a lawyer to find out if we have a case by being scammed by false advertising...... BUYERS BEWARE

A moving broker hired these clowns. They showed up and doubled my quote to over $4,000. They also have like a 50 page contract they fly through with little explanation. Get as much insurance as you can as they will destroy your items. Also sent one guy. He was 9 hours late, took another 20 min to smoke a joint, then couldn't unload a thing. I had to help. Then he left for store (assuming for munchies), he was gone for over an hour. I operated their lift and unloaded most items myself. Driver said they didn't pack good and everything shifted. $3150 in damages. I lost $7,000 to move a small one bedroom. They hide behind contract and take no accountability. Pure garbage and unprofessional

They poorly packed delicate objects and antiques. I did purchase extra insurance from their recommended agency. The Baker Insurance Co. I mailed around 400US$. They said it had to be postmarked by a certain date. They sent me an incomplete contract. They never explained that that figure had to do with weight and cubic feet. We left New York State and traveled to Florida to meet our furniture. I never understood there was a twenty-one day delivery window. We Waited two weeks in a local motel. When I was given a days notice of their arrival time. Their truck was too big to drive into our new condominium complex. They had to repack into a smaller vehicle to comply with the condos delivery rules. Especially no weekend delivery They put the bed and large furniture where we wanted and were polite and hardworking. Forty some boxes later. It took me and two hired friends two months to arrange and unpack. What a horror. There was much damage to ornate stained glass lamps, Chrystal &, ceramic plates from France. I had to submit a detailed inventory. I was told to wait while they sent an estimator over to access damages. I was told to photograph and keep all smashed and damaged goods. The estimator never show up and I waited another two weeks. They said my financial estimates did not conform to the weight of the total shipment (?) they said if I had done any packing myself it was not covered. Thankfully they did all the packing. Their delivery people insisted on cash only at time of delivery. They did not give me a receipt and I couldn't prove the delivery date. I'm still negotiating with a very understanding representative. Six months later we seem to be agreeing on a settlement. Read your contract, take pictures of your valuables and happy traveling.

I NEVER got reimbursed! Never got a phone call for apology or anything ! How can you say that!!! I wished i seen this message sooner.

The worst packers/movers I've ever dealt with. The boxes they 'took very professional care of' were all dented in. Thank goodness I didn't pack anything in the boxes that were breakable that I was concerned about. one of the packers pissed all over my toilet and bathroom floor that we had to clean up after. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. They try to act like they're so nice and professional but they neglect to tell you that their estimate is actually underestimated by 25% according to the foreman of the packers. read more

My experience with Century Moving Services was great. They moved us from New Jersey to Florida. We have no complaints at all with the service or quality of their work. All the movers were courteous, easy to deal with. Excellent communication with my contact person Zeek. If I was to ever move in the future, I would use them again. read more

I've never left a review, but these folks were SO bad I felt compelled to warn others away. I've moved a lot over the years, and this is BY FAR the worst experience I have had. I specifically asked them if they could deliver my items within a specific time period, and they said "yes, no problem." Then, they delivered over 2 weeks late. And so much of my stuff was broken. Whenever I called, they told me what they thought I wanted to hear - lying the whole time - and changed their story when I called them on their lies. Everything else the other reviewers say about this company is true - they are horrible! read more

PLEASE READ!! IT'S IMPERATIVE AND WILL SAVE YOU MONEY & TIME!! DO NOT USE CENTURY MOVING SERVICES!! Do not ignore this review!! Century moving is very nice and professional until they receive your money. No matter how much you try and communicate with them to ensure there are no issues or additional fees...you will incur such issues and additional fees. There is a receptionist named Wendy who never knows what's going on. Whenever you call for a status, she will either put you on hold and the call disconnects or she will never call you back. If you're lucky/unlucky, like me, someone else will answer...in this case a guy name Zeek "part owner" who will get on the phone and apologize for Wendy's behavior, only to not be available when things are not going right. Things will not go right, trust me. Then you will get a call from a variety of other "important" people within the company. They will not offer a resolution, but they will defend their personnel, talk over you, and give you unreasonable ultimatums or flat out lie to you about the situation (or what they are "willing" to offer to alleviate their mistakes). The company doesn't work on weekends or holidays. However, they wanted to deliver my household goods on July 4th, which is a Federal Holiday. Mind you, I'm Active Duty Military, and I accommodated my schedule to their availability due to the fact I work at all types of hours and weekends. The items I wanted to have moved were picked up on May 31st. I was told by the broker, and again by Wendy, there would be a quick turn around time from 5 days to 14 days for delivery once the items were picked up...but they say it will be 21 business day on their contract to be on the safe side. Let's do a timeline. I spoke to a broker, who gives a quote and collects a down payment prior to your belongings being picked up. That quote changes to a higher price once the driver arrives to the place where your items are being picked up. At that time, you only have 72hrs to cancel the transaction if it doesn't work within YOUR timeline which you have provided for the Company before they send anyone to your location to begin packing/loading. This does NOT include weekdays and holidays. The end of May is Memorial Day Weekend (a holiday, which they already said they don't work!). Therefore, you really can't "cancel" the transaction without a penalty or losing your down payment. Hindsight, I should have forfeited the down payment and made the move myself. The movers are very nice, so we allowed them to load our items. After all, they weren't the problem because they were willing to work with me despite what the "major corporation" verbally and contractually agreed upon. After all of this, I'm told someone will call us the day our items are loaded and we will get an estimated date of delivery. I explained our Active Duty Military status and told them I just needed time to react to whatever day they said they would be available to deliver our items. There was no communication whatsoever from Century movers about the packing, loading, or delivery date of my belongings without me taking the initiative to reach out on a weekly basis to receive some type of update to any movement of my property. Now, all of a sudden, they are willing to make an "exception" and deliver my belongings on July 4th (a federal holiday which they told me they do NOT work). They are now doing us a "favor" by delivering our belongings on a day which they do NOT work, and if we are not available they will charge us $1,000 for overnight delivery. Or we have to pay for the time the items are in storage. In order to get our stuff, we have to pay for an additional vehicle to pick up our property in conjunction with paying for the storage and whatever remaining balance there is for a delivery that never happened. A move initially quoted at $1,700+ changed to $2,300+ once the drivers arrive. An additional $1,000 to "re-deliver" and who knows what we will need to pay to finally get our stuff and move it on our own. Do not use this company!!! Please shop around. If it sounds too good to be true, it is!!! Read the real reviews of the dissatisfied customers from this year and the previous years. People are not lying or acting like "disgruntled" patrons when they say this is not a trusted company. This franchise is all about the money, and once your initial down payment is taken, the price only goes up from there. I've even offered to come pick my stuff up myself. This entire ordeal has been a nightmare! At this moment, I still do not have my household goods and do not know when I will be able to get them! read more

BUYER BEWARE!! They are the biggest SCAM artist in the moving industry and my experience with them was horrible. If this allowed for a negative number as a rating that would be too generous. They are contracting out by another large moving company and give you a great rate over the phone and then when your hands are tied behind your back...they delay your pick-up date...then when they do show up they charge you double your quote. They want all cash or money orders...most likely so you can't dispute the price and try to strong arm me in making full payment which I refused so I would they would have to honor the delivery. I am so glad I refused that because after daily calls to them and no call backs...they are absolutely the rudest, least customer service company in all my years I have ever dealt with. After repeated calls and LIES LIES LIES from them. I was originally advised 3-7 days to get my belongings - this turn into 16 days. Then, of course, they show up and had to walk 10 feet and demanded more CASH hundreds of dollars or they would not give me my belongings. Don't even bother trying to reason with them or call to complain to them or their owner - they give you a line of BS and lies. I did not contract with them. I contracted with Continental moving and how they can deal with this scam artist of a company is a clear reflection on their company and integrity. Moving is stressful enough and to have to deal with these con artists is an absolute shame. I will be filing a formal complaint with the moving regulation board. They should not be allowed to do business. I repeat, do not use this company, and save yourself from grief and your hard earned cash! read more

Avoid this mover. I got stuck with them when another (equally bad) moving company dropped my stuff off with them for the last leg of my move. I scheduled a delivery date with them. They did not show up and did not contact me. I scheduled a second delivery date. They showed up a couple hours late and then demanded an extra $500 before they would start the move. I don't often write reviews, but I've rarely had this negative of an experience with a company. Terrible company - they will quote you a low price up front, knowing full well that there will be a multitude of additional fees. The sales person did not include items that I listed out on the original quote to keep the price low and lock in at that price. The actual price more than doubled. And on top of this they charged $600 extra for "shuttle service" as they said they couldn't pull over on a country road. They purposefully quote you low, lock you in and then the week of your move add additional charges when you have limited options to go with other companies. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Will be reporting their practices to the Better Business Bureau - they should be up front in their costing. read more

ABSOLUTELY the WORST moving experience ever. I would rather take my chances with two blind teenagers and a pickup truck. DO NOT USE THEM. It is that simple. From start to finish our move was a disaster. I am a military brat so I know what moving is like. I have moved many times in my life. Never have I had an experience this bad. It started with a smooth talking salesman who convinced my wife it would only be about $2000 plus a few extra charges to move our entire place. When the movers finally came (which was nearly 48 hours into the 48-hour window) they said the fee was going to be closer to $10,000. The mover said, and I quote, "Good luck finding another moving company". I placed an angry call to the owner but by this time, we had no choice. It was the 11th hour and we had to get our stuff out of the house. In fairness, they did negotiate a lower rate that was only 3x their original quote! The movers left our front yard and our neighbors yard littered with cigarette butts. They left a ton of trash behind and we discovered too late that they had also left a few cupboards untouched. We had to throw away so much stuff because of their lack of professionalism. Another few hundred bucks gone! They told us that our furniture would arrive within 14 business days and we were assured repeatedly "It never takes this long. You will get it within a few days." The moving van arrived 16 business days from the day of our move. We slept on an air mattress for nearly three weeks wondering when we would ever see our precious belongings. This alone is worth one star. The salesman lied again to my wife telling us the van would arrive on-time knowing full well that this would not be the case. Eventually, two men arrived in a massive 18-wheeler semi. This was a much larger truck than what picked up our stuff. What they do is pickup your stuff and then ship it to a warehouse where it sits until they can find enough loads to consolidate into one trip. This is how they save money but you pay the price in damaged goods (they are loading and unloading your stuff twice and mixing it on the same truck with other people's stuff). This is also why it can take up to "14" business days. What a joke. On the arrival date the driver tried to tell us that there was an extra $100 elevator fee. There was nothing in the contract that described this. He was merely trying to pull a fast one on us and he eventually relented when I shoved the contract in his face. Nice guy huh? In the end, we had several pieces of broken furniture and some scratched walls and floors. Some of the boxes arrived looking like accordions. We are filing multiple claims. I am so glad that this miserable experience is behind us. Please do not use them! read more

This is by far my worst experience with any company. They quoted one price they demanded $1,000 more, despite each item was listed on my inventory quote. They parked illegally, then charged me for the $75 ticket. They delivered late, and then charged me an addition $350 carrying fee but refused to measure, and I was right next to the elevator. They refused to wear a mask, had no tools to build the furniture, broke my two best pieces, and lost 2 boxes. The driver broke the garage loading fence, but most importantly, they threatened my son if we complained. We have now been waiting over six months for the claim. Only to find out that the only want to pay me $67! STAY AWAY for this moving company!!! They are immoral! read more

I guaratee no review over 1 star for this company is real. Just keep that in mind as you're reading through these reviews. Besides breaking my furniture they didn't show up on the agreed upon date but at 4:30 the following morning, they did not do a walk-through and change my original estimate before moving things onto the truck (illegal - once they move things onto that truck that original quote cannot legally be increased), they took so much time complaining about how much 'stuff' I had (all of which, oddly, fits into ONE ROOM with room left over - that's how much I have) and how 'heavy' it was (in particular a 50 lb heavyweighy boxing bag, which they basically refused to move because it's too heavy so I had to leave it) that it took them HOURS to do a simple move - a move in which they did not honor the agreed upon moving date, instead showing up on the very day we were due to leave town and had a 10 hour drive ahead of us. They complained that everything was not packed when we paid for help packing, and which we frantically tried to finish ourselves when they never showed up on our set moving day. In fact I ended up having to just leave about 1/2 my possessions due to these scam artists because they took so long loading in. Then, after loading less than had been planned for they doubled our move price from around $3,700 (a quote a was told would be based on weight and lowered if my things weighed less than the quote was based on) to over $7,000 and threatened to unload my things in the street if we didn't sign their document agreeing to that price - which, again, is illegal as they had already loaded the truck. They did not provide me with actual weight of my items when I asked - illegal. He demanded cash, which is illegal when the documents we signed agreed to payment via the same card we had used to put our deposit on. He also never provided a receipt, which is also illegal. In fact he never provided any of the documents he was legally required to do. We also had a 2nd stop to pick up items from a small (8x6) storage locker, at which these 'movers' refused to actually move anything but instead required my bf to do the actual work. Then the head guy demand a tip, which is illegal for movers to do, but since he had already threatened our items my bf just paid it (but only to the two helpers who were incompetent but not threatening). And, to top it off, the guy who delivered our things - in a small white truck - told us we'd been ripped off. As if we didn't already know. Notice a pattern between what happened to me and to others giving honest reviews? Believe the fake reviews if you want to be bullied, threatened, have your belongings destroyed - or end up having to abandon many of them - and ripped off by thieves. (I urge everyone who has suffered because of these scammers to report them legally to the FMCSA and BBB. Also, I was set up with Century via Long Distance Movers, who never revealed they are a broker - you can read a longer more detailed review on the mymovingreviews site under Long Distance Movers reviews.) read more

Beware this company, during pick up they told me the truck broke down and they again had to delay pick up 3 more times after that (and I heard from another client the "truck broke down" story is common) I was told I would get a discount since the third time they moved pick up messed up my travel plans, which they later retracted and when I asked to talk to a supervisor to find out why they said no I can't talk to him. I was told my furniture would arrive within 10 business days, the drop off day just like pick up day kept getting delayed, and then on the 10th business day after I called to find out where my stuff was they said "oh it's going to be 30 days now" I tried to pull up the contract to reference to them why that was not okay, and lo and behold the link where the contract was now disappeared and was replaced with a website that said "This Job is Booked" I still don't have any of my furniture, they won't tell me when it will come, and they won't let me talk to the supervisor when I call. Stay away to avoid stress and wasted time and money . read more

Also known as Century Moving Group My initial conversation with Kyle, made everything sound swift and easy-going, he was obviously trying to get me to buy in so everything sounded great, he sent me a quote that same night which I had included everything I was going to have move, and said the price shouldn't change from that. The night before my move (9/28/20), Heather and Jessica Chieffalo (dispatch dept. supervisor) called me to confirm my move for the following day. Jessica specifically stated the price would NOT change, and if it does, to contact her, because "The guys could just throw it on the back, it's not a problem" I wanted to make clear of this as I was paying CASH and would have only the amount I was told. Well the next day after they packed everything up, they wanted to tell me it was going to equal a total of $600 EXTRA, which I had to pay $300 up front and the rest at drop off. I called Jessica, no response, even called her 2 days later, messaged her, NO response I had been trying to contact their customer service since this happened. Every time I spoke with someone, they always said they would "look into it and call me back" I spoke with Heather, Mike Harris, Nina (multiple times) about this and NOBODY ever called me back. The day before my furniture finally arrived (Took 2 months to ship from CT to CA) I called Nina and she told me that her and Jessica were having a meeting about my situation and would call me back before 3pm E.S.T, I never received a call back. I called the next 2 days and spoke with another person who said Nina was not there and doesn't know when or how I could get in contact to find out what happened. I had to end up paying the extra $600, nobody ever helped me look into this and nobody ever called me back. The movers were very professional themselves, but my mirror was broken upon arrival. I would NOT recommend this company as you will not be able to get any answers from these people and FALSE PRICING read more

WORST MOVING COMPANY ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. Complete scam artists. They showed up and charged me $3,500 extra and on top of it, broke a 75-inch television, lost all the pieces to my daughter's bed, and scuffed numerous items. On top of it, the foreman totally tricked me into signing the documents that opted me out of full coverage. He simply said, please sign here and here and there were about 30 documents. They are a deplorable organization as is New York Best Movers who contracted out with them. After everything awful happened they wouldn't even call me back (Danielle Gold specifically). It was sooooo, sooo terrible. Please don't ever, ever, ever believe them and their prices. You will completely regret it. The thought of them makes me want to throw up. read more

Quote effectively doubled when they received my stuff from the storage unit and "measured" the volume even though we had been accurate with the item descriptions. By that time they already have your items taken so no going back. Cash only payment and the option to pay through credit card (as I was remote during the pickup) gets you slapped with 6% additional payment fees. An entire scam, do not recommend. read more

They broke my 65" LED TV. When the woman walked around my house and gave my quote she said the TVs would be boxed and secured. When they took it off the truck I saw that the only packing they did was put a thin pad over it. When they removed the pad it was apparent that there was a huge crack in the screen. The TV is useless now. The owner came out and looked at it. The next day he said they would refund me $460 on a TV that cost me $2600. I was specifically told before the move how they would pack it, that was not done, and their negligence cost me my TV. read more

Trash company....I will never understand companies who conduct business in the manner that century does. Wouldn't it be more profitable to run a square business with a good reputation? It has to be absolutely exhausting waking up everyday and dealing with dissatisfied customers as a result of not following the rules and regulations governing your industry. We spent hours on the phone with your employees over a 21 day period. It doesn't take a business degree to understand how those resources could be better utilized to help grow your business. What's your goal here? To try and rip off one time customers with no intention of obtaining repeat business? Please don't tell me that you don't know what you're doing, because the regulations are available to the public and they are in lament terms for everyone to understand. Your non-compliance with these regulations is clearly intentional, and there's no way you could plead ignorance in a court of law. Fortunately for you, you operate in an industry where regulatory enforcement is near impossible for the consumer (which you clearly already know). Feel free to reach out if you would like to hire me as a consultant to turn your trash business aroun To the consumer: if it's too late and you've already contracted with century, then here is a few tips in dealing with century: #1: don't trust the weight tickets that they provide. I called their bluff and demanded to observe a reweigh in which the consumer is entitled to free of charge. It also has to be done at a CAT scale of your choice (don't let them try and pick the CAT scale as they will pick one 3 hours away from you). Careful Zeke....if those tickets happened to be proven fraudulent that's a big no no. #2 save your time with regulators / lawyers. The DOT will do nothing for you and lawyers are too expensive given the size of most moves. Go directly to small claims civil court. #3 you can ask local law enforcement to be present during the drop off in case things go south. #4 they have 21 days to get you your stuff. On the 22nd day call your insurance company and submit a theft claim and go file the police report (don't wait or let them string you along) #5 don't waist your time calling these crooks. You'll never get a straight answer or any useful information. read more

When searching for a local moving company, I came across this one. I was a bit reluctant at first, due to some of the mixed reviews that I have read. Long story short, I decided to go with my instinct and hired them. As someone who has moved about 6+ times within the last decade, I have never come across such a professional company. All the workers were so friendly, courteous, and understanding of my wishes. They treated my furniture as if it were their own, taking care of it by wrapping it exquisitely and being beyond careful when transporting it into my new home. This company has made my transition into my new home much less stressful and easier than other moving companies I have hired in the past. I would highly recommend them to anyone due to their professionalism and excellent pricing. read more

I agree with ALL negative comments below. SCAM! Polite and courteous up front, evasive and rude at the end. Quotes low, charges DOUBLE BIG sales pitch on the extra care that will be taken, and never done. Multiple items broken or missing at the end. "LOST" TV purchased for over 2K, broke a 3K bike, multiple broken crystal and china, broke a CHUNK off a family heirloom desk that had just been refinished, and was in perfect condition. Wrapped mattresses in DIRTY blankets, instead of "sanitary mattress bags" promised. DON'T USE THEM. PERIOD! read more

This company tells you that the prices are great making it seem like the price will be one thing and turns out to be something else. We paid double of the initial quote. The foreman was rude and was only concerned with how his company was going to be paid. They broke some pieces of furniture and left other pieces in my living room and couldn't use common sense to get them up one flight of stairs. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY ITS NOT WORTH IT. read more

They don't know what they're doing when they are quoting you. I told them every item I would be moving across the country and when the movers arrived they said that certain items would have to be put into "boxes" (because they weren't boxes, they were just pieces of cardboard) and I was charged extra for those items. I also wanted to be sure I wouldn't be charged a large amount like a friend who used a different company. Anthony assured me I wouldn't and said they probably used a broker and I wouldn't pay that. WRONG! I ended up paying $3,000 more than the quote. I was also assured by Anthony that it would be their company that would be doing the packing and the moving. WRONG AGAIN! My stuff was moved to a different truck and another company moved my stuff across the country. Don't use them. They are liars and unethical when it comes to their practices. read more

(1) Only after putting down a deposit did I discover that the window of time in which movers would show up was 48 hours long, and that I'd only be given an hour's notice max before they came. (2) They kept me dangling in limbo until 5PM on the first of those days. Manager promised a crew would show up between 7AM-noon the next day. But (3) Next day, at 12.30, nothing. I called to ask WTF and they said "one of your drivers is out" and they spent the next two hours "seeing what they could do." So I had to find a last minute mover at 2PM on the day I had to be out of my apartment. Then, (4) They kept my whole deposit because I "cancelled" and (5) Throughout all of this, the manager kept calling me "sweetie" and "darling" even after I told him to stop, because apparently it's still 1964. I'm sure they'll write a nasty reply to this review, but if you'll notice, there are 42 one-star reviews here (which I didn't see before booking them), so, judge for yourself. read more

If I could rate them a 0 I would. AVOID this company at all costs! They are scammers, liars and con-artist. I blame American Moving Company LLC. That's who I called and they are a broker, which He (Jamie Diggs) failed to mention that to me. He was so nice and professional during time of booking after that jamie was GHOST! He wouldn't follow up with any concerns or questions. But neither would Century moving service. ( I will post their reply email when they found out I left a bad yelp review) Century Moving are very unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, uncaring and has a screw you attitude. i paid $1792 deposit and owed a balance of $2021 day the movers arrived at my new house, day of move the mover asked for more money, my daughter gave him $1000 cash then he asked for more $800 he said I had too much stuff ( I had 60 medium boxes purchased from Walmart, a full size mattress, chest and dresser, twin size bed with chest and dresser, small freezer i had at an apartment, a queen size bed, dresser and chest, a small kitchen table 2 32inch tv's , 1 40inch tv). I was picked up in a small box truck. the scheduled day of the mover to drop off my belongings and i got a call stating the semi truck couldn't fit down my street( i had my car delivered will post pic) so they demanded another $900. i am currently missing a 32 inch tv, they broke vases and candle sticks ( box was marked fragile)and I packed my own boxes so why is my stuff in their boxes AND why are some of my boxes ripped open and some have different tape looks as if someone went through my stuff. PLEASE do not use this company you would better off using a house and carriage everything about this company is wrong and foul. Take your money and business else where do not make the same mistakes i made i am willing to send more picture and/or answer any questions if you are thinking about using this company also the workers were arguing about money and cussing at each other in my house i recorded that as well read more

First warning flag: they gave me a 3 day window but said (on the phone - we'll come back to it) they'd honour specific dates if I had parking or building restrictions. I sent an email an hour later, having booked special parking but didn't get a written response. Instead, my partner was assured (over the phone) repeatedly that my chosen date was fine. Morning of move date, at 9 a.m, I get a call starting with 'looks like there's been a misunderstanding and we can't move you til tomorrow'. I'm furious, so I say ok and put the phone down to calm down. Call back and explain to them the whole process only to be told that in the written contract it always said 3-day window and it's in the contract and it's not their problem what someone may or may not have said. Second warning flag: they offer to come next morning at 6 to avoid traffic, but don't show up until 9. At this stage I just want to get it done so I'm like whatever. I watch as two of the guys carry things down and one basically sits in the truck. My boxes, even the ones marked FRAGILE are thrown in with zero care. We get to the other side, and they spend 30 minutes saying they might get a ticket if they park where I want them to park and I'd have to pay for it. I say fine, but they decide that one guy will stay in the truck and the other 2 will unload. All my belongings are now sitting on an NYC Street, about 200yards from the entrance of the building, and no one to watch over them (I only find this out when I come back from buying them lunch and cold drinks as it's a hot day. More fool me). Once everything is unloaded, one guy starts driving the truck around the block 'to avoid a ticket', which I would have been charged anyway, leaving two guys to do the work. Even though I'm paying for 3 men per hour, not 2. They break the elevator. We spend an hour waiting for the repairman (again, I'm paying for the time, remember), who comes and says that their pushing on the door unhinged the wheel and he doesn't have the part. Now the head office says that if I want them to keep working I'll hve to pay extra for the stairs and the extra time it will take. I point out it's their fault for damaging the lift and I get told to pay $1,400 for 'time already spent' (even though a good 2hrs at this stage have been just not doing much and the guy in the truck has completely disappeared), threatening to leave my belongings on the street if I don't pay up. So I pay, using a credit card I keep for emergencies and which I haven't used in a few months. One of the movers reads the card details over the phone, which no one questions even though it's illegal as they shouldn't accept it other than from the card holder. Couple of hours later, head office calls again and says they'll charge me another $400 upfront for the next few hours and if it takes less time then tough, but if it takes more time they'll charge me again. Again they threaten to dump my things on the street if I don't comply. Again my card details are given over the phone to someone I don't know by one of the movers. Meanwhile I'm carrying my stuff up the stairs to try and get things moving. Two hours before they finish, the third guy shows up again, says hey should leave my stuff and they can come back tomorrow, but luckily the other two are nice kids and say no. Finally, 10 hours after the first arrived that morning, they leave. No one walked through with me to make sure everything was accounted for and not broken (spoiler: things were broken, including a sofa), received no receipt for what I paid, nothing. So I'm disputing the charges, but between the threats, outright racketeering, waste of 2 days' work for me, an apartment in shambles (everything was just dumped in, furniture was left unwrapped and sitting upside down or on its side), oh and missing a close friend's funeral thanks to their shenanigans, frankly even if I get some of the money they extorted from me back, I will still feel traumatised by the experience. Oh and all this was for a move of less than 5 miles by the way. $1,700 and 10 hours. Let that sink in. Coincidentally, a few days later, two fraudulent charges of over $500 are made on this credit card. The one I had used for the first time that year with them. The one whose details were read to persons unknown who also had my full name and address. I'm not accusing anyone, but make of that what you will. Bottom line: these people are aggressive, unprofessional, will gouge you for money by threatening to withdraw their services once they know you have no other option, will threaten you, will overcharge, will charge for work not done (the third guy who I was paying apparently but who disappeared for hours, leaving me to do his work and thereby also extending the number of hours they charged me for), and break your stuff. Do yourself a favour and hire someone else. read more

Never. Ever. Again. I have moved a total of 15 times in my life and this was by far the worst. The customer service is awful. They told us they could deliver our stuff from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma in two days. My fiance and I asked first to make sure this was okay and it's nice to know timeline since we also have two dogs. Once getting confirmation we signed the contracted agreement. It has now been over a week and we still don't have our things!! I packed for three days because I trusted that they would bring our stuff to us in two days time. Now I feel like they took advantage because they charged us nearly double the estimated cost of what it was originally estimated!! Luckily we have family where we're moving to who have been kind enough to let us stay in their home while we wait for our things. They're giving us no sympathy or even trying to be understanding. Awful business. read more

After hiring this company to make our move, there is absolutely no way I could ever recommend this company to anyone. While the actual workers who come to your house to pack and move you are hard working, good guys, the office staff are especially duplicitous and are the reason for my awful rating and experience with this company. To start, after setting up the move a month in advance and arranging for the company to charge us for the move out to be paid after the actual move out takes place (since we gave them a window of a few days) to coincide with payday for both me and my wife. However, when they called the night before they intended to move us...now, all of a sudden, this is a HUGE problem. So I get to speak with one of the owners -- or rather "Partners" as they like to call themselves here, Mr. Zeke. No lie, I'm talking with this guy not even a minute and he's telling me that "we've gotten off on the wrong foot here, so I'm gonna have my people refund your deposit and you can have another moving company handle your move." He also informed me that he had "listened to the recorded conversations" from our prior calls with his sales rep, and apparently this accommodation they had made for us was nowhere agreed upon, but when I asked to listen to these recordings, he absolutely refused to allow this, stating that "they're only for company use" -- a likely story. So everything eventually gets patched up since this move has to happen since we're selling our house and our stuff absolutely cannot be in the house. When the guys come out to move us, after we had stressed over and over to Anthony, our salesperson, that we may be in a 2-bedroom house, we have a ridiculous amount of stuff since there are my wife and I, along with our 3 kids living in the house, the movers had apparently come from another job, still had the other job's stuff in the back of their moving truck and our move would require two trips with this moving truck which was entirely too small for our move to begin with. So the estimated 3 hour move (which both my wife and I looked at and wondered why they thought they would be able to move us out completely in that time, and even questioned them about it. I suppose that was also on the recorded phone calls I wasn't permitted to listen to) turned out to be 12 hours. I was also informed that the movers would be back to our house to complete the move after filling up the remainder of the truck later that night, which was then changed to the following morning. I was at the house the following morning to let the movers in, but as they had told me they would be there by 5am to get started, instead...they didn't show up until after 9:30, so I made sure to get up at 4:15am so I could be at the house to let them in (since we had already moved the family over to my in-laws' for the time between moves). I sat in the driveway for over 4 hours and didn't receive a call to say they weren't going to be there at 5 (as planned) until 9:15. Fast-forward to our move into our new house a few weeks later...and this time, we were assured that since they had all of our stuff and knew how much stuff we had, that they would have the appropriate size truck so it would only be one trip without time being wasted driving back to the storage facility, reloading and driving back. (Which should also be on those recorded phone calls I don't have access to!) Amazingly, here we are with the same size truck...only this one was rented from Budget, so once again...more time wasted at $150 per hour. Thankfully, we had family on hand to help to unwrap the furniture so as to save time that the movers would have taken to remove the furniture pads. Bottom line: while they gave us free storage for 3 weeks, their estimates were so badly off that it cost us more than 3x the price we were originally quoted. And while I understand that it's just an "estimate", their estimation was very badly mistaken. Also, if you happen to get Mr. Zeke on the phone, just do yourself a favor and hang up, the guy is a hot-head who clearly doesn't know a thing when it comes to customer service. It should also be stated that while I understand that they're a moving company that gets jobs booked constantly, it's always been my practice to never relay that on to the customer and make them feel that their business is burdening you in any way. With the scheduling of both the move out and the move in, we had given them more than ample time to manage their crews to accommodate our move, I'd suggest they consider maybe hiring someone else to handle their scheduling. Stay away, stay FAR away! read more

Disclaimer: Century Moving Services is a NIGHTMARE! I used Century Moving Services last year when my wife and I moved from NJ to Sacramento, CA. I was so over them that when we finally got our stuff in California, I didn't even have the energy or gumption to write a review because the whole experience was so overwhelming that I just wanted to be rid of them in my thoughts. They had taken my time, my money, and were the most toxic type of business people that one could ever deal with. I never thought this type of horrible treatment could ever be a reality, but with Century Moving Services the horrifying stories you hear about movers becomes a complete reality. It was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. My original quote was for $1,200; the day they arrived to pick up my stuff it was over $4,000. I had to literally take stuff off of the truck to get my quote down. I ended up having to leave half of my furniture in NJ. Their contract is a classic bait and switch, they will low ball you till the cows come home and then charge you almost four times the estimate when they arrive... and because you can't find movers last minute; they put you in a situation that gives you no choice, but to employ them for their despicable services. In fact, and I have docs to prove this; the "gentleman" who gave me my estimate over the phone charged lower than the lowest limit able to be charged in their contract, obviously fraudulent from the get-go. I ended up paying $800 more than what I had originally planned for even after removing my furniture off of the truck, which put my wife and I in dire straits when we arrived in Cali. When I tried calling customer service it was some random guy's cell phone who, when I finally got a hold of him, was half asleep. I finally got some sort of customer service manager on the phone, after calling three different numbers, his name was Ezra or Ezekiel? If my memory serves me right. I asked if I could get the original estimate, or at least something close to it, and his condescending response was "this is a business and we need to make money off of the services we provide or we'll be out of business." How about you just provide good service and quote honest prices and maybe your business would thrive? I digress; like I said, I ended up having to move half of my furniture off of the truck (by myself!) to get the price down to something resembling reasonable. When the movers arrived in California, ***two weeks late***, (they said the furniture hadn't arrived, I called to complain and magically the furniture arrived the next day) they tried the over 70 feet from door trick to get more money out of me (they charge you an amount per foot over 70ft). I measured everything myself and asked the property manager in my apartment complex if they could back the truck into the neighborhood, so I wouldn't be charged... and they still TRIED to say it was over 70ft even after taking out my measuring tape to prove it. I agreed to the 70ft charges, but told the guy that if they charged me, I wouldn't have enough to tip them, all of a sudden the guy says "Oh, I was just kidding!" Are you kidding me? After a half hour of griping about 70' he was just kidding? The most unprofessional person ever. He sat on the truck on his phone the whole time while the other movers did all the work. They dirtied the carpet in my new apartment with mud from their boots, there was water damage and deformation of my mattress, they damaged the floors in my kitchen and get this, because the one guy didn't do any heavy lifting, I had to help the movers move the heavier items. And I STILL tipped them. Boy was I a sucker. Needless to say, STAY AWAY!!! Horrible, just horrible. read more

Where do I start? I had an urgent move that suddenly came up due to a job transfer. I searched the web for a moving company and couldn't get anyone to call back until I called Century Moving. My call was immediately answered by a professional office staff. I went over the details and told them the urgency. The lady in the office set me up with an appointment the same day. I received a call from their representative Zeek, he advised me that he could actually come out an hour earlier than schedule to look over my home and get me a quote. I was very thankful for his prompt service and more than fair quote. He gave me one on the spot. He supplied all of the boxes, bubble wrap, moving blankets and more importantly the professional labor to come to my home, work with my wife and I and pack our contents into boxes. They labeled them by room and similar item types. They provided wardrobe boxes. They promptly loaded all of our things into their trucks and left off to our new home. We stayed in a hotel overnight as they had to drive 10 hours to our new place. The following day we met up at our new home. While the kids played in the backyard on the swing set (we asked them to set this up first), my wife and I worked with their crew leader to go over which rooms were which. The crew worked to reassemble the furniture. And help us get our boxes to each room. They had a few extra people there that day as per our request to help us get the kitchen set up. Their guys worked around our cleaning crew and put everything away as my wife pointed and clicked (lol). Within 72 hours we were out of one home and into our new home. The staff went above and behind by breaking down all of the boxes, tied them up and placed them in our garage so we could recycle them. They put all the paper from wrapping glass items as well as the bubble wrap into garbage bags for us and offered to dump them at their dumpster. All in all, we could not be more impressed as this was our 3rd career oriented move of an entire family and this was the easiest of all. Without Zeek of Century Moving, this would have been a disaster. He is a master of what he does. From our family to yours, thank you for going the extra mile (well 578 miles to be exact) to make this as painless as possible. If we every need or anyone we know needs a moving crew, we will 1000% recommend you from coast to coast. read more

BEWARE! BEWARE! We made the mistake of believing a conversation with one of their representatives when he called to give a moving quote from CT to PA. He assured us that his quotes were accurate so we believed him. After walking from room to room telling him everything that was in each room he gave us a moving quote. We talked about needing to be out of the house we were living in by a certain date as I was retiring from being a minister. He gave us his quote and offered discounts if we accepted by certain date. After receiving numerous quotes we decided to go with Century Movers because of lower quote. Representative who gave quote assured us again of accuracy of his quote. He said that a down payment was required and we paid by credit card. We were told the day before the move that if we paid by credit card we would be charged an additional fee and they suggested we pay cash. We hurried to get the needed cash and were able to secure it in time before our bank closed. The nightmare began after the movers came the day of the move, 3 hours later than time given. The movers moved all of our belongings into the truck and then we were told by the supervisor that we had more than what estimate was for. We asked when we would get the weight of load and were told it was by volume on truck. New to us. We discarded over 1500 pounds of belongings we no longer needed before the movers arrived. Unless we paid the additional amount our belongings would not be moved. Having no other choice we paid the difference that amounted to over $1700. When we told them we would see them the next day we were told our belongings would not arrive up to 10 says. That was not told to us beforehand so after a phone call we did get a date for 3 days later. Century Movers is an unreliable and unethical company that needs to be shut down.Do not use this company. Any company that wants to be paid in cash is a company to beware of and not use. Wrote letter to Attorney General of New Jersey with my complaint and he forwarded to Interstate Commerce. IRS needs to investigate this company and do an audit. AVOID THIS MOVER! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE! read more

I will tell you that these guys were awesome from start to finish. I cannot explain how smooth this move went...... I was actually very happy with the way the very first phone call went when I spoke with my sales rep Anthony. The whole process of doing inventory with him it went so well and I didn't feel any pressure at all when it came time to talk about the money situation. He was so thorough with the inventory and I was guaranteed the lowest rates among all reputable van lines, and boy were they right. I was quoted a price from New York City to Orlando, it was a binding not exceed price which stuck. The foreman Jimmy came with a crew of three guys which were Gary, Eddie and Jason. These four men were the top of the line and they were so sweet with the way that they made sure that they took all of our furniture apart meticulously. We had a three bedroom house so it was a lot of work but these guys really pulled it off. The day before the move Adriana called me to confirm the time that the movers would be there, sure enough they arrived RIGHT on time.I was so pleased with the way they composed themselves. My things were stored in their climate controlled warehouse for 30 days and then delivered to me here in Orlando !! All of my items were in prestine shape when they arrived here at my new house in O-town. I have to say that from start to finish it was a class act .... I will be telling ALL of my friends in the NorthEast about Century Moving Services, they were the very best company and I am such a pleased customer!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a call from the Q and A girl Adrianna and she was glad that the entire move went so well, I didn't forget to mention that they did not arrive on time..... I lacked to say this in the review so I figured I would come back and say that Other than that the process was easy and I will call them again for sure read more

Century Moving Services moved me from Stroudsburg, PA down to Florida and I am going to try to keep this story short but we will see. The movers came at 10 a.m which was ok, started to get to work right away and made sure to not scratch my walls and etc. I am very happy that they took into consideration that my hallways were narrow and that my stuff was very valuable to me. Moving on they did load the truck up in a fashionable manner and made sure to take extra special care of my glass table.... my husband and I didn't have time to have it boxed up so I had to pay them to do it but it worked out better because I didn't trust myself to box it up anyways. They also had to box my tv up because I didn't have time to go to uhaul and do that myself so I ended up paying more but in the long run it worked out better. Why the lacking star you may ask? The lost one of my boxes !!!!!! I was so upset !!!!! But, they found the box and they shipped it to me immediately, Century moving services to the rescue! It take them 24 days but I was very pleased that they found it and FedExed the box to me the day after they had located it. I still lacked the star because of the inconvenience so sorry guys!!!! read more

For my move from PA to NJ, I was looking for movers all over internet. Whoever I thought would be best had at least one negative review about them. So, decided to go with the mover who has less negative review and gives a decent rate/quotation. Tim from Century Moving Services messaged me and when I spoke with him he sounded sensible. And without any second thoughts I decided to go with Century Moving Services. Wow! I am so happy that I made this option. Century Moving services guys were so friendly, approachable and available whenever we need. I gave the detailed inventory of items to Tim and got the quotation (charged on hourly basis). I got the confirmation call on the day before the actual moving and they clarified the arriving time intervals, rate details and other policies. He was also so friendly and answered all my questions with patience. On the moving day, Daniel and team came on time and again explained me all the policies. They were so friendly and helpful. And, they completed all the work before one hour. So they reduced the final price by an hour, so sensible. I was so happy that I chose Century Moving Services. read more

We moved a few months ago and I figure it would be good to share the experience. My boyfriend and I decided to buy a house down the shore which isn't too far from where we lived previously. I know that this company has some negative reviews, but after calling I felt like they were a good choice. Tim was really friendly and took us through the quote process. We felt that he was experienced. We got a call the day before the move from Kathy to confirm the window of time for when the movers would come. The movers arrived and started taking things out of the apartment. They were nice and worked well. We needed our computer wrapped up, which they did without a problem. We boxed most things but there were just a few remaining items that needed packing. The whole move lasted about 5 hours. We payed the estimate plus the tolls and for some of the extra work that they did, but nothing major. We expected that. So honestly, this was a fine experience and I would recommend them. One of my ceramic ramekins broke because I didn't wrap it well enough. Everything else was good. Give these guys a shot. read more

Overall Great Experience from beginning to end. From the start, Anthony and Adriana assured me that they were going to do everything in their power to help me with this move. I recently had surgery on my knee and couldn't do too much packing myself, so they recommended the Silver and Gold packing options. I chose the Silver package since there wasn't that much more to pack. The price that was initially offered was a little more than what I initially budgeted for. That's when the sales manager Tim spoke with me and was able to offer me a favorable discount and some additional packing materials if I needed them. We scheduled a pickup date at my home in Montvale, NJ for the beginning of the month and had a delivery timeframe of 5 days to Coral Gables, Florida. When the packers arrived, they assisted me in anything that I needed. Miguel's crew werr wonderful and Manny's team in Florida were just as good on delivery as well. This was my very first time moving out of NJ and the team at Century made an easy transition. Thanks so much and I kept my word with this good review. read more

Overall, I had a great experience with Century from beginning to end. I looked online for a mover to move me from my home in Belle Mead, NJ to my girlfriends home in Charleston, SC. They had some decent reviews so I submitted my home item list to their website. I received a call back within an hour after putting in the request. The sales rep Michael did a great job of explaining the ins and out of the moving process since this was going to be my first time hiring a mover to me over 700 miles. I felt comfortable with him but I just wanted to get a few more quotes just to compare. After I spoke with 3 other companies, I felt that Michael gave me the best deal because he explained everything to me and gave me a decent price. The only thing that I was afraid of is the price changing because that's what EVERY sales rep said to me. It's funny that they talk about each other. So I hired Century to do the move. Michael promised that he was going to send an experienced crew and he did. I would've given them 5 stars but they couldn't transport my car so that was the only hitch. read more

Stay away to avoid stress and wasted time and money . read more

I have been moving every 3 to 4 years, with the military for over 20 years, & with my current job for over 20 years and by far this is the WORST company I have ever used.... They are the biggest SCAM artist in the moving industry & I would not wish them on my worst enemy.... Very sweet on the phone call and will give you a great price! Then they will send out a third-party estimator who will raise it another 25% and then when they pick it up your household goods by another the third-party moving company they are going to raise it another 25%.... During all the transactions all they want cash or postal money orders.... Even when you call them to file a complaint all your going to get is a bunch of BS.... If you're lucky to get your furniture and when they deliver it it's gonna be delivered by some truck driver and whoever he picks up off the street for the day??? My original $10,000 estimate enend up costing me $18,000.... Buyers beware and stay way from this company...... read more

A good friend of mine recommended Century to me after she had a pleasant experience with her move. I decided to inquire and after having a detailed conversation with their employee, Anthony, my worries and concerns were put to ease and I went with them for my move. Moving from Union City, NJ to Flagstaff, AZ is already a big ordeal in and of itself. It is such a different environment and I was already just worried about starting my life over, I didn't want to have to be overly concerned about my belongings not making it. I have a good amount of delicate items (tv, framed prints and pictures, china and glassware) and Anthony assured me it would all be taken care of and explained how everything would be wrapped with attention to detail. With the wonderful coordination of Anthony, the moving crew and the head foreman, Miguel, everything arrived safe and sound. I would highly recommend using Century Moving Services for your next move. read more

I am honestly surprised with how well my move with Century Moving Services went from Carlstadt , New Jersey to Sebring, FL. I am really not sure why I moved back to Sebring, FL,:-( FL is great but, you know what I mean NJ,. EEk, nevertheless..... I was only in NJ for work, 6 months to be exact and because of the late notice, I was honestly scrambling but these guys really pulled through for me. The way that they orchestrated the entire thing is very beyond me. From the very first call with the sales rep, Tim Powell to customer service girl answering the phone. When I needed to ask a question, they were true gems..... to the very last face to face with the movers here in Florida when they delivered my belongings, I have to say that these folks were there. I couldn't have asked for a better moving company. Thank you Century Moving Services, for all of your services. Sincerely Kyla read more

I moved to northern NJ recently and so far it's a good experience. Century Moving was the company that I chose to move me and my husband. Tim was the man that we spoke to on the phone that gave us our estimate. We got a call the day before the move just to confirm the time, which we scheduled for early in the morning. Three guys showed up and the main guy was Paul. He was very nice and personable. The guys worked very hard to wrap up our electronics and used heavy duty blankets to protect everything. They loaded the truck fairly quickly and then we met them at our new home. They put the boxes where we requested and also unpacked all of the televisions and so forth. We ended up paying a little more than the quote because we had more boxes than we originally expected. Overall a good experience despite what some others have said on here. Maybe they have made some positive changes. read more

My boyfriend and I moved from Staten Island to Monroe in March. Century Moving was awesome and inexpensive. I am one to call around and check for the best prices and this company by far was the most fair and offered the best services. Their rates were much more reasonable than the other companies that we inquired with. My boyfriend works in IT so he has a lot of computer equipment which is very fragile. Miguel and Paul wrapped everything up really well. We also got a free TV crate for our living room TV. Everything was moved within several hours. The guys put the things where we wanted and we were all set. We paid for the tolls, which Tim told us about on the phone and our estimate was right on target. Highly recommend this Moving company! read more
