The classroom sizes were perfectly tailored to foster growth and discovery but also ensure personalized attention when necessary. The learning modules were innovative, original, and forward-thinking, creating such a positive learning experience. The YMS staff have always ensured my daughter was welcomed with open arms and hearts, a true testament to their caring nature, and I always felt they considered us as part of their own families. The teachers and their attention to detail were instrumental factors in expanding my daughter's willingness to learn, growth and maturity. They have built a strong foundation, nurtured confidence, engaged social skills, in a way that truly demonstrates how much they care. Although our time at YMS has come to a close, I may have shed a tear during the graduation ceremony, not only for how proud I felt, but also knowing it was time to say goodbye to an amazing family, and I will ensure to recommend to parents that truly want the best for their children to make sure to put YMS at the top of the list.

In my opinion, this school was an underwhelming experience that left me with underdeveloped…read morecritical thinking skills and struggling in high school. The school's French program was subpar for years after I graduated; I am unsure as to whether this has changed in recent years but when I went to the school, the teachers (we had a new one yearly) were unable to teach the material within the year. After I left the school, a friend of mine said that they were getting a new french teacher every term and that each one was just as unequipped to teach as the last. I struggled with French in high school and moved over to Spanish as a result. The school's music program caused me to develop bad habits that I only fixed in my later years of high school; my embouchure was awful (as my teacher had minimal knowledge of how to play my instrument) and the material we played was on par with "hot cross buns". They also required us to buy or rent (which was more expensive than buying in the medium term) the instrument we played; I ended up spending around $800 to play an instrument in primary school.. If I had not continued to play this instrument, this would have been a significant waste of money. The school prided itself on being a year ahead in science and two years ahead in math; this worked to my detriment as I became overconfident and barely passed math and sciences in high school. After I almost failed math and science in grade 7 (after moving to my new school), I lost all confidence and continued to do poorly. On top of this, I remember my science teacher telling us about the wonders of recycling. It has since been revealed that recycling was created by the plastics industry to give people the illusion that they had a way to avoid pollution due to plastic waste. Ever since China banned the importing of most plastics in 2017, Malaysia has taken up the burden of sorting our low-value plastics for pennies on the hour.. and this will is starting to stop as Malaysia has realized that being the world's dump is hurting their country. My point is that the teachers are uncritical and do very little research outside of creating their bare-bones curriculum. The teachers are used to children being as obedient and uncritical as them. They did not entertain any of our ideas and yelled at us when we did not fall in line. They did whatever was easiest and this included almost punishing me for allegedly pushing someone down the stairs, pinching someone on the back, and calling someone a nasty word within the span of a 30-minute lunch; I did not do any of this and if I had been more submissive, I would have been punished for actions I did not commit. When I was in high school, I posted a review similar to this one on their Facebook page. My parents told me that they were blackmailed into getting me to take the post down so I removed it. The main difference between that post and this post is that I did not claim anything to be my opinion.. (despite it being obvious that a Facebook review is an opinion). The teachers also have no problem with stealing and/or damaging the property of children (from what I saw). My friend's gummy art eraser (a $5 eraser) was thrown out because my teacher thought he had balled up his pencil shavings to create it. I had my tamogochi taken away and I only got it back when my mother yelled at the teacher the next day. These teachers do not care (in my opinion, as always); they want to do what is easiest and take home their meager salaries. This school is just a business.. nothing more. This has been an opinion piece.

Naturally I chose Humberland Montessori for my son. The care and love they give the children at the school is incredible. I really couldn't ask for more. Not only are they constantly teaching the kids manners with eating, sharing, they show the kids the proper ways to act and interact with other children and adult. You truly can not ask for better care for your child.

I can honestly say that within the first few days of my daughter being at Childventures Aurora, all my fears and anxieties went away. My happy adventurous little girl remained my happy adventurous little girl. From the morning greets, she jumps out of my arms into her teacher's arms. That alone tells me everything I need to know. My daughter is happy, she feels loved and as a parent that is all you want for your child. Beyond that, I can see how much she has learned over the past few weeks. Whenever I watch the camera, her educators are always with the children doing different activities. She has learned new signs, and body parts. The communication app HiMama is wonderful. I check throughout the day for updates about naps, meals and I love seeing the pictures of the different activities my daughter is partaking in. Additionally, the meals served are very nutritious and there is a good variety of food. I would definitely recommend Childventures Aurora.

Our tour guide today says, "weren't you just here yesterday"? I replied "no." Then she says "you all look the same". Tour continues... She later comments that my son and other kids cry a lot (as I notably observed many many tears across all classrooms visited) since "he had never been away from family, going to school". I replied, you assumed and never asked me this!?. He in fact has been in US daycare for a year now!! We proceed to think our son would be mixed up in classes and his progress reports would be about other kids not actually about him!!!

If I could give this school zero stars, I would…read more Our experience has been extremely disappointing due to poor communication and what we believe was a serious mishandling of our daughter's enrollment. We first toured this school while I was pregnant, when my daughter was due in August 2025. At that time, we were told a spot would be available for her in July 2026. We were very pleased and were instructed to email back the application once she was born so they would have her date of birth, which we did promptly. We were then told to follow up in February regarding registration. In January, we received a call advising there was an opening for September. We happily accepted, mentioning that August would be ideal but September would work for us. Following that call, we were asked by email to resubmit the application using a downloaded form, which we completed and returned the same day, even asking if anything further was needed and to keep us in mind should an August opening become available. We received no indication there were any issues and reasonably believed our daughter's enrollment was secured. In April 2026, when I reached out to ask about the transition process and start date, I was shocked to be told our daughter had never been enrolled and that there were no spots available. We were then incorrectly told that we had declined the September spot, which is simply untrue. We had explicitly accepted it. We were also told for the first time that the application had only placed our daughter on a waitlist--something that had never been communicated to us at any point. We were specifically told there was an available September opening and we agreed to take it. As a result of this miscommunication and lack of transparency, we have been left scrambling to find childcare only three months before I return to work, at a time when most daycare spaces are already full. We did everything expected of us, including planning childcare while I was pregnant, and have been left in an incredibly difficult position. Based on our experience, I would caution other families to proceed carefully. Communication was poor, expectations were misrepresented, and the handling of our enrollment was deeply disappointing.

The review is about the daycares hiring process and not about the centre it's self…read more During an interview the first questions asked were "Are you married?" And second "Do you have children?" Of course I didn't get a call for the job after advising I'm not married and have a child. Both questions are discriminatory under the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario! I want other to be aware of this employer as what they are asking is inappropriate and unrelated to the duties of this job. Discriminatory hiring practices is a big no no.
