My bill increased 50% at the end of the period. A year later update, after being without service for two days now my Linksys modem and TP Link router won't work. Comcast referred me to Linksys after an hour on the phone and Linksys says there is nothing they can do if I can't hard wire my computer to the modem. Time to change providers and equipment. Next day. I made one last call to cancel service and happened to get a technician in Denver who wanted to send a technician to my home. That person showed on time the next day to test my modem and router. He disconnected the coaxial wire from the modem to hook it to a modem he brought to see if there was a signal; and there was. Then he tested the router, hooking it to his modem. The router worked. He went to the truck to get a rental modem which I had 30 days to return without charge while I purchased a new one. Before doing that he happened to reconnect the coax to the old modem and went out to his truck. When he returned the old modem was now working for the first time since the internet outage, probably because of the coax disconnect and reconnect.

I will never step foot in this store again. I am officially canceling ALL of my business with…read moreXfinity. They will never receive another dime from me. I have had multiple terrible experiences at this location, but my most recent visit was the absolute breaking point. I purchased an iPhone 17 Pro in January from them a phone that costs well over $1,000.00, and it has broken down repeatedly. Leaving me with out service many times for days at a time. (I did end up going to the Riverdale Xfinity store after this, and when they deemed the phone defective and activated service on my other phone and advised I make an insurance claim with respect and kindness, I found it even more frustrating that I did not receive any solution in the Layton store closer to my house.) All I asked for was them to fix the defective phone they sold me, or simply swap my active service over to the backup iPhone so I wouldn't be left disconnected. Instead of doing their jobs, the staff was extremely rude right out of the gate. To make it worse, I pay for insurance through Xfinity. Yet this woman didn't offer a single solution. Her brilliant answer was to tell me to take it to an Apple store, which is what they did last time, and I had to pay someone else to fix the phone previously. Why would I go to an Apple store where I did not purchase the phone from? So they can charge me for fixing it? I advised her of this or attempted to before she cut me off with "Well, we cant do a return, we cant do an exchange, and we cant help you now get out of my store." Wow, really, you cant help me with a $1,000.00 phone I bought from you in January? You cant help a customer who pays every month and carries insurance. Who can you help? Little did these employees know I was already living through a nightmare that day; my friend's son was in the ICU on a ventilator from a drowning accident, and I desperately needed a working phone for updates and support. Despite being completely overwhelmed and upset by my personal situation, I started out patient, but as the interaction went on, the staff's attitude only got nastier and ruder. When I finally matched their energy and got upset at how poorly I was being treated, a woman working there actually had the audacity to threaten to call the police on me and have me trespassed from the store. Threatening a paying customer with law enforcement because your store sold a defective phone for $1,000.00 + product, and your staff lacks basic human empathy is utterly PATHETIC! It feels like this place is run by a bunch of untrained, rude teenagers who have absolutely no idea how to treat people with professional courtesy or respect. I even advised that young lady "I am a frustrated customer, put yourself in my shoes for 2 seconds and imagine how I feel. Please don't take it personally; I just really need access to a phone." I'm allowed to have an upset tone without being threatened with police. I was not threatening or cursing at them. There seriously needs to be a corporate-level investigation into this building and the sheer volume of complaints coming out of this store. They treated me like a criminal for wanting the phone service I pay for actually to work during a critical family emergency! It is sickening! SAVE yourself the headache and LITERALLY GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. 0/10!!!! The customer service over the phone is not any better. I will NEVER DEAL WITH XFINITY IN ANY CAPACITY AGAIN!!!

In my part of Utah County you get horrible speeds with the phone company or pretty fast download,…read morebut horrible upload with the cable company. Plus, they charge an arm and a leg for it. Utopia finally came to the neighborhood and I could not be happier. They installed quickly, and the service has been flawless so far. There is a large selection of ISPs available, but most of them are suspect in my mind. XMission is the only one with a total usage cap. However, even as a heavy user I've not hit it. By having the cap, it's easier to handle people who abuse the bandwidth setting up spam servers or torrent servers. They are also the only one meeting state of the art security standards like SOC2. Back to Utopia. It just works. I have 250Mbs up and down. That allows me to do full backups of my home to the Cloud. I could never do that with the pitiful upload speed the competition has. Plus it's far cheaper.

What concerns me is that no one contacted me beforehand, left a notice, knocked on my door, or otherwise informed me that work would be taking place on my property frontage. I had seen crews working across the street to provide service to new neighbors, but I had no idea that work would also affect my yard. When I spoke with the workers, I was told this is the only access box on the street and that if additional neighbors request UTOPIA service in the future, similar work may need to be done again. In addition, the work area has obstructed access along the sidewalk. We have small children in the neighborhood who regularly ride their bikes, scooters, and play along this route. Today, the excavation and equipment created an unexpected obstacle and safety concern for children and pedestrians using the sidewalk. As a homeowner, I believe residents deserve advance notification when construction or excavation will impact their property, even if it is within a utility easement. A simple notice would have allowed neighbors to plan accordingly and be aware of any temporary disruptions or safety concerns. I would appreciate an explanation of the notification process, what steps will be taken to restore the area, and whether residents can expect additional disruptions in the future if other homeowners request UTOPIA service. In addition to the pictures from this afternoon... I have posted a picture of what utopia could do in the future to protect homeowners and children and community people from getting hurt Thank you for your attention to this matter.

To make things even more impressive is their great commitment to this community. XMission provides so much to nonprofits and small businesses and, at the same time, have committed so much to being a good environmental steward. They didn't work. We bought higher grade routers as a result. They offered no real improvement over our wireless provider home internet (which is half the price of fiber). They seemed to care less about our business or helping us, so we canceled within a week. Wish I would've read reviews here before I went with this company.

Also, I was trying to get special introductory pricing from DISH, and they did not sign me up for the pricing I agreed to on the phone when I gave them my credit card info. I called to talk to someone about the issue, assuming it was a mistake, but I have not been able to get through to anyone on multiple phone numbers, and have not received any responses to the voicemails I have left. I ended up having to call DISH directly and having them sort out the pricing issue, which they were able to do, happily after a few transfers and being put on hold a few times. The DISH representative said that the work order wasn't even complete and asked me a few more questions that apparently Satellite Services Utah didn't do. Would NOT recommend this company to a friend or a family. It would save you time, energy & MONEY to do your own research online and sign up directly with the company you want cable or internet from.
