THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER, not a particular store. After years of being a CenturyLink customer, there were some bad and some good experiences. I was going to leave when I found out how bad their repair service was, but the new company I selected was still going to use CenturyLink Internet which was down at the time. I am still a CenturyLink customer, but I am disappointed in their customer service. I moved and CenturyLink wouldn't honor the two year agreement we had for 29 dollars a month, but they were still going to try and charge me a disconnect fee. I did not want the fight, so I signed up online for a new account. Their claim that they would charge me a cancellation fee if I did not continue their service still irritates me. CenturyLink is charging me nearly twice as much now. And now when I call for customer service the usual team of agents are not allowed to help me over the phone. They give me another number to call, and that number requires an extended hold before someone answers. It seems to me that the new customer service is lacking the human touch. They are no longer available on their website either when I log in because I cancelled my service after a month of troubleshooting my connection to no avail. Multiple techs wasted my time. Made an appointment 10 days ago for Internet service. The time given was 8am to 12pm. It is now 2 pm and still no tech! I have centurylink and Cox inyernet. Purchased the 40 mb service from CL and have never gotten over 9 MB.upstairs or downstairs. My cox Internet is 20 MB and gets 18 MB. How does that make sense??? These folks are ripling.off so many people. Let's not even talk about "tom" aka asfir from India. Clueless tech support; they talk over you and ask you to reset your modem 20 times. No help on the weekends and that is after being transferred and being transferred and being transferred and being transferred and being transferred to someone who's answer to you is that department is closed try back Monday. Long story short, it's been a month and we still don't have internet, have been worked around twice now, lied to about installation dates and prices, and every rep I call says something different. I'm not even officially an "activated" customer... and this place has already proven itself the worst company i've ever dealt with. Sales person very nice but after that a complete nightmare, After realizing this is a DSL service which is actually slower then COX I started to have second thoughts about my installation date also after a year it gets quite expensive. I called to cancel my installation and I actually got into a yelling match with their customer service department because I refused to be sold on keeping on with them. Negative 20 stars for me. Took me 5 one-hour long, frustrating as hell, phone calls for them to finally put my account on a hold back in October/November. Then I get a bill yesterday saying I owe $38 and it's due April, but it's been on a free hold since November. I call them up today to find out why I owe and I get this dude with a heavy accent, hard to understand. He drilled me with like 10 security questions and had to repeat them all twice because I didn't know some 3 digit error code that I've NEVER been asked for before and could not provide. About 12 loud, screaming minutes later.... He FINALLY tells me that I don't owe anything, that there's a credit on my account (not what my email says). I was screaming at the guy because a simple answer took 12 freaking minutes with the script, the multiple security questions that I had to give twice and because I couldn't understand wtf he was saying!!! THEN, I wanted to cancel my service and he asks me why and tried giving me the whole try-to save-customer B.S. after yelling at the top of my lungs at him, he finally transfers me to another department because he "can't cancel my account". 10 minutes later another rep. tries to do the same, he wants to know why I want to cancel, wants to know everything they have done wrong that's making me want to cancel so that he can "apologize for any inconvenience" and offer me something to keep me their customer. 20 minutes of back and forth crap, I'm now crying because I'm drained, don't know how else to make him understand that there's nothing, absolutely NOTHING he can do to save me. Told him that I'm getting tired of being on the phone, cancel me NOW, get me a manager, I don't want to listen to your script, I have other things I have to do etc... He kept putting me on holds for 2-3 minutes at a time only to come back on and tell me that he doesn't want to lose my business etc .. I finally said to him that I'm now recording this conversation and if you don't cancel me right now, I'm going to be getting the news channel involved. He then put me on another hold, came back with a cancellation confirmation number and sent me an cancellation email confirmation. At one point I was in tears! I feel as though, they were purposely playing games with me for their entertainment, I felt harassed, I couldn't believe what I was going through with them! These people are crooks, liars and have piss poor service for insane prices. My husband and moves to apache junction 8 months ago and got century link because cox is not offered out here yet. We where told we would pay 100 a month for Internet and their piss poor TV on one TV set because my husband wanted it. The instalation was supposed to be free because it was a promo price. I got my first bill and it was 300 dollars I called and spent 4 hours on the phone with their moron customer service team who ultimately only lowered the bill to 200 so I still paid 100 over dollars what I quoted. Since having this service I have had problem upon problem with the Internet dropping off, the TV not working less that 6 inches from the box, I've had 15 days where I couldn't turn my TV on because their shit service wasn't working. I've had people at my house from this company who have just walked into my house after leaving without knocking. And today was the icing on the cake. After paying my bill late last month because my family is in a tough possition this month financially I was 3 dollars short. I didn't think I needed to worry because we had always paid them before they shut all my services off over 3 dollars then because the shut off day was on the same day my bill was due for the next month they made us pay that bill plus the 3 dollars to get it back on. TV is not a big deal for me but I'm a student at asu online and I was taking a test when this happened. We got no warning or notice that the 3 dollars had to be paid and when I called this company to ask about the customer service rep I spoke with was rude. Told me that I'm "stupid" for not realizing that the 3 dollars had to be paid. And refused to transfure me to someone who could answer my question. If I wasn't locked into a contract for this crap ass TV service I would leave. DO NOT SIGN WITH THEM THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS LIKE CRAP. WE'RE ALL STUPID CIVILIANS TO THEM. You guys are a joke. I was told my internet bill would be $41.95 + tax/month. The guy who signed me up said that I would get phone service too with that. I said I don't need phone service but he proceeded to tell me that it's bundled so I get it anyways. I get my first bill and it's $72.25. Woah! I call Century Link and after an hour on the phone and being passed around to three different people and offered a $27.94/month internet only rate. Here we are a month later and my bill has not changed. I call and customer service hangs up on me 15 minutes into the call because they could not find record of the change. I had a new account number made and a confirmation number and yet they could not find anything on it when I supplied them the information. So I call back and speak to another customer service rep, he proceeds to tell me there is nothing he can do so they transfer me to loyalty because apparently loyalty can supply the discounts. I'm on hold for 45 minutes and finally hang up because it's ridiculous I'm dealing with this. I call back again, the new rep says to call back in the morning when they are not so busy and I can get through. Wow. I was warned about Century Link from a neighbor and I still proceeded to go with them. Shame on me for not listening. They bait and switched me in the beginning, they gave me false account update info to lower my bill, and then they waste more hours of my time dealing with it. I shopped around for new internet and cable providers when I purchased my new home. Went with Century Link because they offered the most based on the price. I spoke to two gentleman Devon and Aaron upon my initial setup and both quoted me $105.89 after taxes, licenses, etc for both internet and preferred cable. Imagine my surprise when I go to pay my first months bill and the bill is $216.11. This is with an $11 credit from the April bill which still no one was able to explain. So technically the first months bill was $227.11. After explaining the issue and being transferred 5 times I was finally able to speak to a rep that was able to help me and able to adjust the bill appropriately. However, do to the company's system they don't refund the current bill you are basically expected to pay the full amount (even though it is incorrect) and the credit will show on the next bill. However, no one is able to confirm what the credit will be on the next bill. So they expect you to pay the full amount of the bill even though it was an error on the company's part and incorrect yet no one is able to confirm for their customers what the actual credit was. Even though this is no fault of the rep that final was able to help me I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was then transferred to Jessica. When explaining the situation, this 'supervisor/manager' spoke to me as though Century Link did me a favor by adding all these discounts to my account and that I should be grateful for what they did for me...ummmm NO the company misrepresented themselves when I initially signed up to obtain my business. Now that I am seeing the bill that is no what was discussed or agreed upon I am asking Century Link to take responsibility for their error and make the account correct and whole. To have a 'supervisor/manager' speak to me and cut me off when talking to let me know that I should be grateful for what the company was able to provide me after they screwed up my account and misrepresented themselves is beyond infuriating. I have agreed to pay the amount that I would have owed but no more and I was assured by Sandra in the financial department that I would not be charged a late fee for not paying the full amount but once again no one was able to confirm the credit. Unfortunately the one competent rep doesn't negate the 6 incompetent ones I spoke to, in addition to the overall issue with the company's misrepresentation when I originally signed up. If the bill is not correct next month, I will be canceling the service with Century Link. Disclaimer: Please ensure that you document all names, dates and times of the people that you speak to if you decide to go with Century Link. Also ensure that you document the specific prices of products and discounts they are stating you are being given. Do not ever bundle your service with CenturyLink we are now in a dispute with CenturyLink and DirectTV even though bundled the two companies do not communicate their systems are compatible when canceling the service you need to contact both companies and if there is a lack of communication you will be billed for services not received. CenturyLink is the worst to call in to discuss a bill and had the worst customer service I have EVER received. Representatives are very condescending and rude. DirectTV on the other hand is trying to fix the dispute and very respectful. Wow centurylink officially provides the worst customer service ever. I have spent over 10 hours dealing being billed $300 for two months of Internet and additional services I never signed up for. I have had maybe 20 people on the phone and every time without fail they waist my time for 20 minutes and then say I have to transfer you and then hang up. I have spent so much time dealing with this crap. I can not get these bogus charges removed. I can not get anyone competent on the phone. The last person on the phone was slurring their words either high or special needs and maybe should be in a different non customer service position or maybe they were just fuc$ing with me. Idk. Anyways I will be calling yet again on Monday, the day they are threatening to shut off my service for not paying a bogus bill. I've had internet only with hem for 2 months! And they wanna charge me $300!!!!!!!!!! Please do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache just go with someone else. What else... I supposedly have the fastest I can get and still can't even watch Netflix! Wtf! Forget about downloading anything. We previously had Cox and decided to switch as soon as their deal on internet was up. I am so glad we did!! We have only had it for a few days, but it is just as good as what we had with the other provider for about half the cost. We signed up for the price for life deal online and were able to get 40mbps for the same as we would pay for 20mbps. I did a little research and found that streaming video (like Netflix) doesn't require more than 20mbps, but I was encouraged to get more. I chose self installation, but a technician still came out to set up our line. I didn't know they were sending a tech and as far as I know, I won't be charged for having him come out. The modem arrived via UPS after his visit and I was able to easily set up the modem on my own. I had to call customer support because we didn't have a pc with an ethernet port. The tech support woman, Jordan, set it up remotely for us. So far we are very pleased with the service! read more

Literally thee worst internet/cable provider! They kept raising my cable rates exponentially where they couldn't even justify how the rates got that high and tried to charge me for a cable box I never had. So I cancelled the service they said they'd send me out a box to return the cable equipment 3 weeks later still no box but they happily applied a 400+ dollar charge to my account for not returning their equipment... 2 phone calls and 2 hours later they sent out another box immediately I returned it and got the ups tracking number, and I'm glad I did because 2 months later they tried telling me they never received anything so I pulled out they tracking number and realized that their supervisor signed off that they reviewed my equipment a month ago! But they still had the oddity to try and charge me late fees. To top it all off I had still been paying for the Internet service and they shut it off because they told me I hadn't paid so I had to pull out bank statements to prove them wrong....this has been 1 big sh#t show with them and I will be terminating all services with them and advise you potential new customers to steer clear of these thieving disorganized crooks! read more
