Mom's gift was quality time with all her kids together in one place. As they get older they scatter and they all do their own things. Went here and had a terrible experience. I was helped by Brittany who seems like she's never talked to a human in her life before but somehow landed a job at this dead end ceramic painting shop that has such a weak and expensive selection I almost started painting my own face just to keep my self busy. Brittany if you are reading this, ask your self, do people deserve to be costumer serviced by you? The answer is no, there is enough cruelty in the world. Really enjoyed an afternoon with my 9 year old daughter here. It was our first time doing ceramic painting together. The staff was very helpful with all our questions. There were many different options available to paint- so many that it was hard to choose. We took our sweet time and didn't feel rushed at all. On last Friday night, it was Mother/Son night @ their school. This meant that I had the honour of spending the evening with my daughter. I asked her what she wanted to do...she said mac and cheese for dinner (no surprise there), and to do a little painting. After dinner, we headed over to the Cafe. I loved this business before the the pandemic. However, they changed their practices drastically after they reopened. I am a VIP customer. This meant that I would get 20% off on pieces I purchased. They changed it to 10% after they reopened. I feel that business management shouldn't change existing customers that paid to become a VIP customer. The final straw for me was, if you couldn't finishing painting in 2 weeks, then they charge you $5 each time you come in to paint. I'm a person that takes my time on the painting technique. Some items I painted were quite intricate. If I could go in everyday for 14 days straight, I maybe could get it done. I don't have the time to come in everyday and spend hours painting. They could use the policy of 14 visits instead of 2 weeks straight. The last thing is the customer service. They have a few new employees that aren't trained. They don't understand about customer service, not the employees fault. Management needs to provide more training or at least have them working with an experienced employee not by themselves. read more

As far as cost most items are fair in the prices and cheaper than some of the other places I researched. They include everything in the pricing which is great. We've been coming here since we moved to the area three years ago. It's your typical ceramics place where you pick out what you want to paint, paint it, then leave it and they fire it up. In a few days, you come back and pick up your finished piece. Inventory can be down sometimes, thus not five stars. But otherwise, they've always been friendly and helpful here and it's a fun, indoor activity for those rainy days. We had a few girls here back when my daughter turned 10 and that was fun as well. Not so fun to be there when it's a crazy group of young kids, so you might choose to come back when there's not a party. It's basically like Petroglyphs, which is what we had in the Bay Area in California. I don't know if they still offer it, but if you plan to come more than once, check into their VIP program. I had a bad experience at the Beaverton location. Staff were rude to me and my young child. We were there for a baby shower, my party shelled out quite a lot of money. Just before we left, my toddler moved a bit too close to the Christmas tree-which was overloaded with breakable ornaments. And surprise, surprise a small, unpainted ornament fell and broke. The staff, who had barely acknowledged us before that quickly moved in, like a drug dog, asking if we broke an ornament. Then to my surprise we were asked to pay for the unpainted ornament. What an insult. I cannot believe any reputable place, making that much money on our party would charge us for such a small loss. To make matters even worse. When I asked to talk to the manager, she was not at the site. I was directed to the Facebook page, told my comment would get attention there. I wrote twice about my bad experience, asking about their policy and never heard a word back! I told them I would be posting a comment here. Does anyone have anything to say now, an acknowledgement of the lousy experience I had at your business? read more

After reading the one review of this business I felt I should respond with my experiences... I have been here twice in the last 6 months and have nothing but complete praise for this business. Taking 2 active grandsons to make presents for their parents is not easy for this grandma but the manager was a blessing. She helped us every step of the way and was so patient with the boys and me. Went there for Margarita Madness for a date last Friday night, called ahead because I was running late. Brittany had a table reserved for me when I got there. Was helped and given instructions. My date and I painted our pieces and I was done before my date. I looked around at the beautiful displayed pieces and asked Brittany if they were hers. She said most of them were. Had a lovely conversation with her, and she was very patient and allowed people extra time to finish. She didn't kick everyone out exactly on time as I would expect. The choices she made to open an hour early was the business owners to make and should not be considered a 'favor' or held against the paying customer. A simple sorry and thank you for coming in please, except our 15% discount if you choose to come back would've been professional and sufficient. We love to come here. It got a great location next to Starbucks and subway. They are very nice and helpful.

I keep coming back here because it has what I need: good music, good parking, lots of space, selection of projects and a Starbucks next door. Park, get a drink (or bring your own), check out the mosaic projects, decide you cannot deal with a new thing and go pick out a piece of pottery, hang with friends and putter away at your project. When you're done you can easily pop off to other plans and pick up your project 5 days later. I have tried a few of these places and have been underwhelmed with how crowded they were, the pricing, or the selection. I consistently go back to this one (though I live in NE) because it's the best one I've found. (Also, the girls who work there are amazing and know what they are doing. Love the blond girl who is from some rural area. She is consistently helpful with technique so my projects don't turn to crap.) read more

So disappointed in their customer service. I called Thursday evening at 7:15pm to inquire about whether my piece was ready for pick-up, and was told yes, it was ready to go. Excitedly, I hopped into my car and began the 25 min drive to Ceramicafe. I arrived just after 7:40pm only to find that (contrary to their posted hours of operation which ended at 8pm on Thursday) they had closed early! The place was dark and no one answered the phone. I can't believe they would tell someone their piece is ready for pick-up and then close 20 minutes early. Wasted nearly on hour of my time driving there and back, not to mention the frustration and let down. read more

This is the worst place I have ever attended for a birthday party. The manager at the beaverton location was unprofessional, as she was drinking her starbucks in the middle of a 6-7 yr. old birthday party! Then she took a object out of my daughters hand and told her she couldn't paint it. We know the arranger of the party and we were willing to pay extra for the piece. My daughter was crying as it was a Santa, who she just met yesterday, and who NEVER cried, she was crushed. The manager at this location needs to be retrained on customer service principals. She was aggressive, unapologetic, unpleasant, and even the mother complained and asked her to be nicer to the children. Which happened to be a large group of at least 15. Which in consideration is a bit of money, with that type of treatment we experienced, I wouldn't go if that manager is still there. It was a sad experience. I was in sales for over 15 years and that employee Britney would have been written up and put on a work plan and then fired! I would not want her representing me or my company. read more
