Regardless of my appearance, I walked through the threshold and was greeted by what would seem your prototypical seasonal music and decor. The store had pleasant Christmas music playing and the smell was something out of Ms. Claus's potpourri lounge. The young lady I approached at the counter was polite, courteous, and to the point. She answered my questions about gift wrapping and offered multiple variations and ideas. I came away with a pleasantly wrapped present with a cute little bow for one of my wife's Christmas presents. I even gave the lady a warning that I'd be back with other presents. Through all my warnings, she smiled and said kindly that that would be no problem whatsoever. After some back and forth, I made an appointment to stop by, look at specific varieties, and pick out some plants. The day of, she went through the different families of lavender and helped me narrow down to a specific variety, looking at the dried cuttings from last year as well as plants in her garden. She also had plenty of other hardier medicinal plants available including multiple types of mints, thymes, rosemaries, and other herbs. They are amazing people with an amazing property. The pandemic and a hard winter have been tough on them. Several huge trees fell on the property last winter due to heavy ice and Ed is all about sawing them up and keeping the trails clear and looking like he has a crew of 20. Even though the peony blooms are through, I found this a great time to buy the plants from them. Ed had me look up the blooms by name on my phone so I could see the blossoms. He gave me planting instructions. They still have a lot of stock. I also bought some cement planters--a bunny sleeping next to a pot, and a lifelike bird from the gift shop.
